    Honest Review

    • Written by from San Diego

The iPhone 4/4s bumper is NOT worth buying due to it falls apart far too quickly. After using it for a month or so the rubbery edge starts to become quite loose and the volume rocker also scratches the steel antenna around of the iPhone. Also it is quite EXPENSIVE, which is a rip off. Apple should retail this for $10 due to it scratches the iPhone and it is a very old case/bumper.

    Falls apart

    • Written by from richmond

Less than 6 months and this thing is falling apart. Really soft silicone or rubber, it's also almost completely worn down on one corner. The fact that it only works with the original apple headphones since the hole is so small is also annoying. And the inside near corners and buttons have some kind of blackened residue. Very disappointed. Quality of a cheap knock off not something that should bear the apple name.

    Worst "case" ever

    • Written by from Tampa

Had for less than six months and it started falling apart. It's held together at the bottom by two very thin strips of rubber that tear easily. Dropped my phone from my pocket and it landed on the bottom corner and spider web cracked my front glass. Don't waste your money. If you are adamant on getting this style case buy a cheap knockoff so when your phone cracks when you drop it, at least you didn't spend a fair amount of money on a useless case.

    No. Just no

    • Written by from Brentwood

I bought this product about a week ago, and I'm sooo unhappy it's unreal. It is beyond two tight to the point where it turns my phone off, when I hit the home key it screen shots my screen, and whenever I want to put the hold key on, it doesn't work. Today was the last straw when my phone was like usual but the "slide to power off" was on top and cancel on the bottom, it stayed like that forever and then I turned it off and it took fifteen minutes to turn it on. I may be loosing my 400 dollar phone over something that was 30 dollars. My advice would be to keep all your money. Biggest waste ever

Turns off an iPhone 4 / changes the volume unexpectedly

    • Written by from LOS ALTOS

When I bought my white iPhone 4 in, May 2011, I got a white iPhone 4 bumper to go with it. It looked awesome and the bumper worked perfectly—loved it—five stars (then).

Even though the white gradually rubbed off the rubber flanges and the flanges turned a putty-gray color, I loved the ease of handling of the iPhone using the bumper—pulling it out of my pocket, keeping it from slipping out of my hands, taking the hit on the corners when I dropped it, etc.

I rarely took the bumper on or off—no need to—but after 15 months a couple of the bumper's hard plastic corners were dinged up from dropping it and the rubber flanges were starting to get a little chewed up from daily use. No problem; the bumper did exactly what it was supposed to do.

So, around July 2012 I go in to buy another white bumper thinking it's exactly the same design, but it's not. It's still called the iPhone 4 bumper but it's been redesigned, to "fit all iPhone 4S and iPhone 4 models." Whatever. Clearly the design has changed because the new bumper's buttons don't match the iPhone 4 sleep/wake and volume control buttons anymore.

Now, more often than not, whenever I pick up my iPhone 4 the bumper starts pressing the sleep/wake button or changing the volume even though I've not depressed the buttons but am holding the bumper from the top and bottom or by the sides, respectively. One star (now).

    Hello Jony!

The case looked good at first, but after a month, it turned yellow. I would not recommend this color. I would however recommend Black.

I got this case in blue for my birthday. It discolored and warped within about 2 weeks. The outside border of the bumper is now a sickly looking green instead of a pretty light blue (and I take very good care of my phone!) I will never buy another apple case.

It looks great at first... then not so much!

    • Written by from North versailles

I thought that I would love the white bumper with the white phone. After about a month though the light gray portion of the bumper started to discolor. I can't believe that I paid 30 bucks for a piece of plastic that couldn't even go past a month. I definitely do not recommend it unless you enjoy buying cases.

I had the iPhone for not even a month. The only time I took it Off was to clean up my phone was to put a new screen protector on it. When I took off the bumPer I noticed that it had scratched up the silver all the way around the sides of the phone.

    terrible with headphones

    • Written by from West Covina

The hole for the headphone jack is too small and does not allow some headphone plugs to fit. All the third party cases and bumpers do not have this problem.

    Poor Quality

    • Written by from WINDSOR

Great concept, feels nice and is light weight. The case scratched my phone after a few weeks and after about 2 moths, the case began to stretch and no longer fits well. The case appears to be made of very poor material and causes more harm than good.

Good case at first. Liked how you could see the back but it was protected on the edges. I would set my phone down on tables and it would start to break. the rubber is peeling and from dropping it once the whole edges turned black. BAD CASE!

Price too high and product gets dyed by jeans

    • Written by from Denver

First off, charging $29 for this "case" is insane. Personally, I hate having a case on my phone. However, since the iPhone 4 has antenna issues without one (which I have experienced first hand), I am forced to put a case on my phone and cover it's awesome design. So I bought the white bumper to match my white iPhone. In approximately 2-3 weeks, the gray rubber around the outside of the bumper started to stain blue from my jeans. It was in my pocket and dye transfer has never been an issue with any of my jeans in the past... Heck, I don't even seperate my laundry and have no issues. But within one month, my once white/gray bumper was now a hue of blue. Needless to say, I switched to a speck case and was much happier. I am bummed that Apple deems it necessary to charge $30 for a piece of plastic they produce for less than 0.27 cents.

    It scratched my iPhone

    • Written by from Charleston

I used this bumper thinking of me that this is a good quality bumper.... but the fact that after 1 month of use it scratched my brand new iPhone from the sides is shocking me!!!!! Don't use this bumper... the 5$ cover is better than this... and the people who tell you that these scratches are from dirt are lying, I remove the bumper frequently and clean beneath it...

This case is amazing when you open it. It lasts not long at all. The white becomes ugly dirty black no matter how much you take care of it. I wouldn't buy it if Apple sold them for $4.99 each. I am willing to buy another if they use better material the design, the feel, and almost everything about it is Amazing. But you start noticing how dirty it gets in a WEEK! If I was a billionaire then yeah i would buy a new one every week, but im not and neither are a majority of Apple consumers. So get better material. The look is Apple the material is disappointing and nothing you would expect Apple to use.

While it looks pretty and works well initially, the rubber quickly rips apart and the plastic scuffs the heck out of the aluminum on your phone. Ultra disappointing from an Apple branded case.
