    feels so natural!

    • Written by from edwardsville

the magic trackpad is a fantastic concept with excellent execution. i admit, i had to get used to not being slow and not having to keep picking up my mouse, moving my mouse back to the left, and laying it down just so i can continue scrolling right lol, but once i killed this old habits i found that it just feels more natural to swipe back and forth between screens and actually point to where i wanna go. its a bit larger than the standard track pad in your mac and has an epic range!! (i can connect to my laptop from my neighbors house across the street!) plus i even paired it with a surface tablet and a dell or HP laptop and it worked wonderfully :) thanks apple!!

    Great alternative to the mouse

    • Written by from San Jose

I was skeptical at first since a mouse is so much easier to use than the trackpad on the MacBookPro.
But having the trackpad next to my keyboard with it's luxuriously large surface has really turned my thinking around about trackpads.
I love the gestures available for scrolling, zooming, clicking, etc. I was not really thrilled initially because the click-force is so high but when I enabled the tap feature I use it exclusively.

I put my magic mouse away and haven't brought it out since.

    Really functional

    • Written by from Toronto

After many years of use, our mouse died. I decided to give Magic Trackpad a try and I'm thunderstruck by its brilliance. Its compact, yet functional. I cannot believe the amount of features it has, and the number of commands that I could do with it. I think the days of the mouse are numbered. I must admit, it did take some time for some of my family members to understand how to fully use it. Overall, it is a great compliment to our Mac Mini. We are planning to buy a second Magic Trackpad, once our other mouse dies.

    Good for MBA

    • Written by from Hong Kong

I've had this for a couple of days now. At first, I was concerned it would not provide significant benefit to the MBA trackpad. I am glad I got it. This is because it allows my shoulders to be in a more natural position when I am using the trackpad a lot. When I use the trackpad on the MBA for too long (4+ hours), I get shoulder pains. I don't get it that much anymore because now I can place the trackpad wherever I want. Its not too heavy so you can put it in your messenger bag and not notice that much difference in weight. I would recommend this for working professionals that travel a bit and want to have better posture at the same time.

This Is The First Review I Have Ever Written . . .

    • Written by from Dublin

I have ordered many electronic products (from Apple and other companies) for various reasons. However, this is the first review I have written ever . . . and for -I believe- a very good reason. I am a proud owner of a new MacBook Pro. After continuous use, I became curious of an external mouse as I am not a big fan of the touch pad all laptops come installed with. Therefore, after researching and reading review after review, I purchased and and have been using the Apple Magic Trackpad for several weeks now. This product performs just as advertised and is user-friendly as any other Apple product I have used. It's amazing how I can use my fingers to swipe, pinch, rotate, and manipulate the software on my Mac with such ease. I personally don't know how I would ever go back to any type of traditional-type of external mouse again.

I already have the wireless Apple keyboard to utilize with my MacBook Pro or iPad. However, my next purchase is going to be the bar that connects my wireless keyboard with my Magic Trackpad. I don't own it yet, so I can't honestly say what I think. Nonetheless, I felt strongly enough about this product (Apple Magic Trackpad) to write my very first online review on any kind about it. I just hope it helps to allow other users to make educated decisions about their purchases.

    I Love it!!

    • Written by from Fountain Valley

After my mighty mouse's ball got stuck, it made me so mad I accidentally broke it while trying to clean the ball. So I bought this Trackpad and hope for the best. Needless to say, I will never use a mouse again! Unless, of course, this broke. In which case, I will buy another trackpad!

I was considering between this and the magic mouse (which was good), and after playing around with both at the store, I took a chance on this for its MANY multi-function gestures. There are about 10 gestures that are VERY useful. Simply awesome. Learned most of it within the hour, and I have to say, I feel like I am controlling the computer with my mind. Getting used to it in Final Cut X and not looking back. Makes EVERYTHING SO QUICK. (Yes, I came from the dark age of a wired mouse. Which I will now give to my cat to play with..)

    Things I love:

    -The MANY multi-function gestures.
-Large size of the trackpad surface (I don't like laptops' trackpad sizes, why I was hesitant to buy this at first).
    -Looks.
-How natural it feels to use and SPEED! Because of this, I now feel that I have gained a 6th sense which has given me the ability to control the interwebs with my mind. Today the interwebs, tomorrow, the world. Muhahahah. muhahahahahahahahaa. haa...right.

    Things I don't like:

-At first, tracking seemed kind of laggy; it tend to pause and skipped. So I washed my hands (had a hotdog from Wienerschnitzel) and cleaned the trackpad with alcohol. Tracking is very accurate now.

-Price. It's a great price for what it offers. But I want to pay half and get 50% more.

Overall, I would definitely buy this again. That's not to say I want it to break, so I can buy it again; If that happens, I would bring to Apple and demand a replacement (if after 30 days, I would be really nice to them, hoping they'll give me a replacement :) Stop reading my review, go buy this. You'll love it. I know I do.

I Love Love Love This Thing

    • Written by from LONG BEACH

When I first saw it, I had to have it. For me, the Magic Trackpad is much easier to use than a mouse--any mouse. It makes using my Mac almost like using my iPhone. Super easy to set up and configure. You can swipe from screen to screen, even between applications and websites. You can zoom and pinch. You can even configure the Trackpad to perform the right-click function. Having to change the battery after several months is a minor inconvenience, but it will notify you when the battery is getting low. Totally worth the money! No regrets here!

Love the Magic Trackpad and Magic Mouse

    • Written by from BEDFORD

Recently purchased the Trackpad because I wanted to have the same experience as with my MacBook Pro's trackpad. I have my MBP connected to my 23" ACD 98% of the time so I really never use the Pro's trackpad but love using it. I've used the Magic Mouse for many years, now it's my new Magic Trackpad's turn. Not sure if I will end up keeping it, but for now Im loving it.

It's nice not to use a mouse pad which takes up a lot of extra space, without the mouse pad the Magic Mouse wears my desk. For now the Magic Trackpad has a new home, and the mouse is hiding in the drawer.

For now the Trackpad seems awkward after using a mouse for so long......Time will tell!

    awsome

This mouse is amazing. I've had it for 3 years and it has never let me down. I would recommend it if your like a designer or something like that. I'm just a kid but I love it. One thing though the buttons on the bottom after a while start to get stuck. So I would put it on tap mode to click.

    Best in Class...

    • Written by from Forest Hills

This trackpad is every bit as good as the built-in trackpads on MacBooks. In fact since it is bigger it is actually a little nicer to use. If there were better windows drivers avaiable for it (that allowed more gestures) I would have one connected to my Windows work PC as well! Price is competitive with other quality trackpads such as the one made by Logitech so there is no reason not to go with the superior Apple version.

    Flat and versatile

    • Written by from Toronto

In an age where we are so accustomed to navigating flat touch-screens, the trackpad fits right into our comfort zone. It integrates all of the gestures you would find while using an iPad, plus many more which feel so natural to the OS X environment.

It's all about the subtleties: You can actually use the trackpad without ever needing to do the hard-press down that some users complain about. The tap to click feature comes in handy for this, as do the two-finger swipe and the three-finger move (very cool and super-productive feature for selecting text and moving objects). You can even make a click without lifting the finger which is moving the cursor (for example, by moving the cursor with middle finger, then clicking with the index).

The Trackpad is superior to the Magic Mouse, in my opinion. I started out with the mouse and really enjoyed its new features and sleek design. However, after being used to doing so much more with gestures and touch-screens, the Trackpad beats it out by at least a full star. You can compare them in-store, but nothing beats bringing both home to really get the hang of it. Give each a fair chance for a week or two, then return the one you like less!

I think Apple has done a great job of making the trackpad a relevant (and very productive) tool for modern-day use. When used in conjunction with the keyboard and its many shortcuts, you've got a pleasurable and productive session ahead of you.

It does what it's supposed to do

I'm not sure what hidden things are on this but It's basically a bigger track pad. it would also be good to get a wireless keyboard to accompany it otherwise it is awkward.

Battery life Tackpad vs Magic Mouse

    • Written by from Tonawanda

I used a Magic Mouse for several years before I decided to replace it with the Trackpad. It took some getting used to but now that I have, I like it fine. A big plus is that it seems the batteries (same rechargeable ones I used in the Magic Mouse) last a lot longer in the Trackpad. Apparently, the Trackpad does not require as much power as the Mouse. Unexpected but welcome difference.

    EPIC

    • Written by from Denver

This trackpad put simply is amazing. It's huge, the texture is perfect, and it's awesome with Minecraft. I use this when I'm at home because my Mac is far back on my desk and I don't like reaching across my desk to use my Mac. So I bought this and the wired keyboard and it works great! This trackpad is the best, least laggy trackpad I've ever used.

    Loving it!

    • Written by from Port St. Lucie

I was between buying the magic mouse or the trackpad, but I couldn't be happier that I went with the trackpad! I don't have to worry about what surface I'm using with the trackpad, or even needing a surface at all, unlike with a mouse. I connect my MacBook to my TV a lot, and it's always been a pain to have to maneuver around in the cabinet to use the internal trackpad when I need to adjust something, now I just have the trackpad sitting on my side table and grab it whenever I need it. No clipboard to lean on, no jumbling around with the cabinet; this is the most convenient Apple accessory I've purchased to date. Loving it!
