Cheap Plastic and Poor customer service

    • Written by from High Wycombe

Sadly this controller was over hyped and has massively under performed.

The plastic case scratches easily and feels like it could break at any moment.
The use of the controller is buggy at best. It charges when it feels like it, no amount of pressing the reset button changes this.

Approximately 1 / 10 times the controller will work normally.

Ive had several events where putting the iPhone in, results in all the lights flashing but does nothing.

Customer support is shocking. No response via email or twitter.
When I phone the customer support line they aren't interested.

    Buy at your peril...

    Gamers beware

    • Written by from Billings

I have no idea why people are giving good reviews. Its a 100$ accessory that fits nice around your iphone. Thats about all it really does for me. Your list of games that its compatible with is pathetic. I have purchased well over 75 games from the app store... Your controller is compatible with only 1 of them. ONLY 1! I would never have purchased this had I known your list of games was so small. Not only is the list of games small but most of the games I would never play. I will never purchase anything from your company again and will be trying to return this. What a total waste of money. Hope this review will shed some light and keep serious gamers out of some serious frustration.

    Great controller for mobile gamers

    • Written by from Purceville

Great controller! The amount of apps that work with it are constantly growing
A few that I found were Terraria, Asphalt 8, Angry birds Go, Bastion,
Modern Combat 4, NOVA 3, Call of Duty Strike Team, and Oceanhorn
The surface is a kind of scratch magnet but that won't change your
gaming experience. The d-pad works really well and the battery is helpful for
longer gaming sessions. Overall this is a really great product and expect
    even better ones to come

    Controller is clearly in Alpha

    • Written by from West DES moines

If you are desperate for a controller with more than two buttons then I guess you have no choice but to get one like I did. Be warned, this controller is plagued with some kind of chronic battery level leaking and multiple resets needed anytime you use it. For example, I put the controller away for two days with a full battery charge and it was kept at room temp. When I went to use it the controller was 100% dead even though it had a full charge two days ago and had not been used. Since I was already used to the daily resetting issue I kept trying to reset it but since the battery went from full to dead in two days of non use, it was leading me to believe not even the reset was working because it wouldn't do anything.

After having it plugged in I finally got 1 light bar to flash telling me it was not dead yet. Do you really want to deal with all this for 100 bucks and very very limited game support. So far I have two games I use it for, GTA SA and Asphalt 8.

So in summary I paid 100 dollars for a controller with a built in battery that dies on its own in a matter of 1 to 2 days of non use, and it needs reset with a pin of some sort on a daily basis, just so I can play two games with it. Final Fantasy and all the other GTA games do not support it. I am a littler surprised people can get away with selling products that are so broken, and look at how many Android models they have, how did they mess up the only one that is available for apple so badly.

    Horrible build quality

    • Written by from Sachse

Returned this product because of the seriously bad build quality. The buttons and the triggers feel like they are always about to break every time you hit/pull them. However, The dual analog sticks work great and have a nice feel to them. Around every 4-5th time I would put my phone in the controller it would stop working and need to be reset. This means that you have to always have some sort of small pointed object around to insert into the controller to make it work, and really makes taking it out and around with you a real pain. Game support is limited but it is getting better every day. Some games say the support controllers but didn't recognize the moga ace (Asphalt 8). I think I will wait for the "Ace 2" whenever that comes out.

Brilliant, Growing list of games... Don't listen to the bad reviewers

    • Written by from Windsor

Perfect, couldn't of asked for more.the plastic is light and is very solid when the device is in. No problems so far and with a library of over one hundred games this will keep any iOS gamer going. The battery keeps you going and I just can't wait to try some more games that are on offer. Definitely buy in the coming months don't think we will see a controller as advanced as this. Games that I didn't like before such as dead trigger 2 have now been bought alive and I want to play them.
Perfect to buy with all the Holiday gift money!

Not Perfect, but Adds a New Dimension to iPhone Gaming

    • Written by from Corsicana

First I'll get the bad out of the way: I have had to hit my reset button a few times. The controller dies every so often. Also the plates that adapt it for the different phones sometimes fall out. It's a little shaky. Other than that, Its a great device. I wanted to use it in conjunction with a lightning extension cable and the AV adapter so that I could have HDMI out and use the controller, but the iPhone doesn't recognize the MOGA when it is daisy-chained through a AV connector. GyroTroller is a great game that lets you fully map and customize the buttons and their sensitivity while allowing rotation and translation along all three axis. Dead Trigger 2 uses the joysticks but I don't think it uses all the buttons. I just with that it was bluetooth, or had an HDMI output.

So excited to get my Moga Ace Power...unboxed it, plugged in my iPhone 5S and NADA! No battery charging my phone, no game controller support, no headphone jack use -- just completely dead.

And yeah it's fully charged and I've hit the reset. Piece of junk and it feels cheap as well. Too bad because I'm really digging "Oceanhorn" and was looking forward to using Moga with it!

Limited by game support but still great

    • Written by from WEYBRIDGE

When apps started announcing controller support I assumed they would all work on the new controller. They don't and that's annoying. The price is not cheap but you get the battery and you have to factor in the accelerated development cycle. It's only competition is a device with half the buttons for the same price so it doesn't seem excessive in that regard. People also talked about build quality. When you first handle it, it does feel loose but when I locked my iPod Touch in, it felt solid. Sure, it feel plasticky but it's light - just what you want for extended mobile gaming. When you actually play the supported games you understand what you paid for. Galaxy on Fire 2 is worthy of any handheld console and plays like a dream. Oh and it was free. Mine still works fine and I'm enjoying every minute. If you can afford it, get it - otherwise you're missing out and more games will come in time.

    Great Controller for iphone

    • Written by from San Francisco

Works great on games like dead trigger2,Bastion,Oceanhorn , just plug and play , no setup There are around 50 games that work for the propriartry controller as of launch and more to follow, the 3 above being the best so far in my opinion.
I to experienced the controller being dead after several Hours of use, however reading through the documentation there is a reset hole on the back, pressing that with a toothpick fixed the problem, hence the 4 star review not 5.
Overall works great had no problems with it.

Literally, a Plastic Piece of Rubbish

    • Written by from Oakville

For $99.95, you think they would make something that feels durable and stable. It's plasticky, it's the exact opposite of what you'd expect. Minor delay with the controls, not much to complain about there. My problem is that it feels and works like it came out of a McDonalds happy meal - a very expensive happy meal.

If it stops working after the first day, just push the reset button......

    • Written by from Mount Prospect

So I just got my controller in, and I really like the way the buttons feel and love the dual analog sticks and battery boost. It was fun to play Dead Trigger with a real controller, and as the library of supported games grow, it'll truly be a mobile gamers dream.

That being said, my controller wouldn't turn back on after the first day, I thought it was my charger. For some reason, all you have to do, if it stops working is hold down the reset button on the back for a few seconds. Hope that helps. I know the 1st reviewer said his stopped working as well, and I was about to pack mine up to return it until I saw the reset button.
