Nice finish but it's far from 150%

    • Written by from Valinhos

Loved the idea of a permanent case, the finish is very good and nice touch!
I would give 5 star if delivered the 150% promised or at least 130...140...
But it's closer to 80-90% on my iPhone 5s.

Don't take this out in the sun...

    • Written by from Hoboken

I loved the case for the first few weeks that I had it. The slim case was great for when I didn't need a battery, and then the battery delivered all the promises on the packaging.

Then I took it to the beach. I was using my phone to listen to music and had it in my bag so I wouldn't get the classic "too hot!" message. As soon as I got back from the beach I went to use it and noticed that the outside layer of the case was peeling around the edges. Some was actually peeling off and was all over my hands. Really disappointing.

Bottom line: Great phone case, but don't take out into the heat. I'm guessing I may need to take it off for the rest of the summer if it's just going to ruin the case.

    Really Nice Case!

    • Written by from Ocala

I'm not certain where some of the people that have reviewed this case are getting their info from. Once reviewer talked about the charging cord being different from any other one you might have. The Boost Case uses a standard micro USB to charge the case....it is universal, you can use it to charge the case, a camera, and anything else that uses a micro usb. So any other micro usb cord you have around will work as an extra cord when you travel or to keep at work. The charging case itself is very practical and although it adds some bulk, it's not terrible. I typically keep mine on all the time, but you do have the option to remove the battery and keep the slim case on which is nice. I will agree that I wish it had the option to sync when you plug into iTunes, but it's easy enough to remove the battery from the slim case and just plug the phone into your computer and sync it like you normally would. Inconvenient, but again, not terrible. Also, the packaging says you'll get up to 150%, but realistically, it's about 100% charge for the 2200 mhz and probably 70-80% for the 1500 mhz which is on par with the Mophie Air and Juice pack cases. I like the variety of colors offered by the boost case and like the feel of Boost over the Mophie cases. They are not as bulky. I have the plain black and white, which is a nice combo and the black battery is matte so it's not slippery and has a good feel and grip. I haven't experienced issues on my unit, but I felt I had to clarify some reviews with information that was not accurate with regard to the charging cords (USB)...etc.

Good product but requires further refinement

    • Written by from San Francisco

Its based on a good idea -- the slim case that can be used on its own and the battery case that attaches to it when needed. The technology seems to work pretty well although I have only been using it for a very short time. The product looks good too. Most of what I don't like in this product is in the slim case. Its uncomfortable to touch -- too hard, slippery, and volume buttons are hard to reach. Its also brittle; a corner has already chipped and I need to replace the case because the sharp edge where it chipped corner will likely snag on my clothes, and I can cut myself too.

    Boostcase Issues

    • Written by from Missoula

Yes, you get some extended battery life. But…the case comes with its own special micro/USB cable which is different from every other micro/USB cable you may have. I've marked it to avoid confusion with my camera cord, etc. But the worst is that you can't transfer files by plugging this cable in to your computer as iTunes doesn't recognize that the phone is plugged in. So, in order to transfer files you have to take the Boostcase off, in order to plug in directly with your iPhone's cable as usual. And that my friends is no easy task, as the Boostcase is a real bugger to put on in the first place. It is definitely not engineered for an easy, frequent on/off. So now, it looks like I will take it off to transfer files and just leave it off. I've had to choose between a little extra battery life vs. ease of transferring files to my computer. If I'd known about this, I wouldn't have made this purchase.

Good battery case, but not strong enough

    • Written by from Markham

It's a good thing that the battery can be separated but It's also a bad thing. The battery sometimes come off when I throw my phone onto my bed. And the fit case already has a cracked corner after 1 month of purchase.

Also the battery life indicator which also works as a switch on/off button, is too easy to get unintentionally pressed.

But it's a boostercase, not a Outterbox. Not really complaining.

    Money Well Spent

    • Written by from Los Angeles

I was a bit skeptical to have bought something for my iPhone around the $100 range, but I have had no complaints. My brother had received one as a gift and so I decided to try it out. I went to the Apple store and an associate assured me that this would do the job. I wasnt sure about the other cases because I like the functionality of additional accessories on the Boostcase site. So eh, I buy it black and white. So far, 5 months in I'm still having a pleasant experience. I charge it while sleeping and use it all day.
Once I had a "incompatibility error" message, but all it was soon fixed with a software update to my iOs cause I hadn't. I dropped it once and luckily it did not crack, which I think the black has a great finish for gripping compared to the white polish iphone casing. I had a few questions in the beginning about my case and called customer support and they really went out of their way to explain and answer my questions. I guess I should've read the manual!!

    Its cool

    • Written by from Sylmar

So I bought this case cause I saw a bunch of celebrities had it (Selena Gomez, Kelly Osbourne, Jennifer Aniston). I thought it was just another case charger but then realized that it attaches and detaches. It did the job when i needed the charge i just added the battery when i didn't my iPhone was just with the basic case it came with. Then I visited their own website and they had other attachments… its a bit intense but very cool at the same time.

5s ..... I take it off the charger at 10pm, go to work, I facebook, text, and snapchat ... NOT A LOT but a lil. I listen to music off the phone, not streaming. I get home at 7am and its still charging at 100%. How much juice is left, not sure. I plug it in and its flashing yellow. For me, this case is better than the Mophie was on my 4s. I love it. detachable case is AWESOME. No complaints, other than it wouldve been dope if the charger was a lighting cable.

    better headphone hole

    • Written by from Las Vegas

Well for starters the battery is not going to give you what it claims. Having the option to still have a slim case when not using the extra battery is great. But when the extra battery is mounted on, some headphones will need a jack. Yes you can use an extension, but when on the go it makes it very inconvenient. Also don't lose the extension portion or it'll cost you. As for the power cable why not make it an iPhone Cable.....do I really need to keep track of another power cable.

    Bad in many ways!!

    • Written by from Singapo

I don't quit like it because:

They claim "So you can conveniently add up to 150% more battery life" where in reality it gave me 80% from total flat/boot time, as compared with other brand that i used which gave me 100%+ from boot/bat flat time!

Secondly, we must take out the case each time if we need to change teh SIM card! please make a hole for it and save my time and fingers! ;-)

Lastly, you could improve the charging cable by making it the same as lightning cable!!

    Thanks!

The 2 parts case is a nice never seen before idea.

    • Written by from Ramat-Gan

The nice part about this case that the battery comes off and still leaves a case on the phone, the bad part is that with the battery is thicker then other good booster cases but it does what it says and gives you %150 extra charge on the iPhone 5 and about %100 extra battery charge on the 5S.

There is an On/Off button all you have to do is keep pressing the play button till the phone starts charging and if you press it long enough again it stops charging, just like any other booster case.

    I like it

    • Written by from VANCOUVER

I looked at both the Mophie battery pack and the Boostcase – decided on the Boostcase because it comes with an iPhone 5s case designed to connect the phone to the battery (with the Mophie you would have to remove any iPhone case every time you wanted to mount the battery to the phone). I’ve used this Boostcase (2200 mAh battery) two months now for heavy iPhone GPS use and screen-on time, and it still has battery capacity to spare at the end of the day. A light on the back flashes when charging and steady light when charged.
The battery pack is coated with a rubbery material that improves grip. My only criticism of the Boostcase is that the iPhone case they supply has a smooth plastic finish – I would prefer a rougher plastic or a rubbery coating to make the phone with just the case (and no battery) more secure in my hand - hence 4 stars.

    Boostcase is synonymous with CONFIDENCE!

    • Written by from Lansdowne

I just bought my first iPhone...okay, so I'm NOT an EARLY adopter!!! We're talking really LATE bloomer here! But, luckily I bought my first Boostcase last week and my world will never be the same. I'm right there with the early adopters now. My Boostcase gives me confidence. I can even talk to strangers now, because they come right up to me in the train station, asking me, a total stranger... "what is that amazing beautiful cover on your iPhone"...and I proudly say..."this is MY Boostcase and I LOVE IT!!" I feel proud to have an iPhone and proud to show off my Boostcase! It has given me such confidence, and besides, it looks sexy, too. Thank you Boostcase!!
