Rubber bottom made this FLOAT RIGHT OFF TABLE in 2-3 MPH breeze. BEWARE

    • Written by from Eastlake

Took this baby outside while gardening and thought my husband was careless and knocked it off the table. I yelled at him and scowled. Put back up on the cement tiled tabletop and began my chores again. Not too long and off the table it was AGAIN! I yelled again and when my husband came over to the table, he suddenly says, LOOK, I told you I didn't knock it off! There it was, as if there was a ghost pushing across the tabletop, floating across to plummet again. We were floored! We check the windspeed on the iPhone and it was 2-3 MPH breeze. Unfortunately, our new speaker is now far from new. The speaker now crackles and there are two dents in it from each fall. Bad design, why is that there anyway?

    Too Much Bass

    • Written by from Greenfield

Awesome little speaker system, love everything about it but it needs an equalizer app so that the bass can be turned down!

Great sound but one glaring weakness

    • Written by from Tecumseh

This speaker has excellent sound, especially for its size, but the one weakness is that it shuts off after 30 minutes if it receives no audio signal. This makes it totally unusable with my iPod alarm. I could understand it if this happened on battery power, but it makes no sense whatsoever on AC power. The same thing happens if I use the aux input on the speaker - this makes even less sense. To me this is a major design flaw. I have searched for an app that would send an audio signal (inaudible high frequency) to the speaker every 20 minutes or so, but have not been able to find one. Has anyone come across such an app?

Great sound, Bluetooth less than great.

    • Written by from lethbridge

Wanted to use this speaker paired with my phone as an alarm. The reviews about the sound are true, its the best sounding speaker out there in this class. Unfortunately the speaker turns off to conserve battery and disconnects bluetooth from your device, even when it is charging in the docking station. So wanting a speaker that I could use as a great sounding alarm left me sleeping in.

    Size vs. Sound

    • Written by from Chicago

Recently purchased and it is fantastically small and lightweight. The sound clarity pretty much blows the competition in this size and price range out of the water. However, when I compared it to my Bose SoundDock Portable, I was pretty disappointed. The SoundDock's actual bass and ability to belt out sound at high volume without distortion makes the SoundLink Mini sound like it's whimpering; to me, it is well worth the extra $100, and trumps any advantages of the smaller size, weight, and bluetooth functionality of the SoundLink. Just ask yourself what you are really going to use this for, for me, the SoundDock does a better job >90% of the time.
