    1st really usable bluetooth headsets

    • Written by from Sarasota

Tried many bluetooth headsets over the last several years. Always had many problems to make them unusable, such as connecting, poor battery life, uncomfortable, etc. These ones are perfect. I just put them on, turn them on and they work every time. Used for wide variety of exercises. Highly recommend.

    Good sound for runs

    • Written by from Sacramento

I walk and/or run about 10 miles per day, in often fairly hot conditions, and even with considerable persperation, these stay in the ear well. I was always snagging the wires on other earbuds with my hands while walking and with these, there's no problem. Very comfortable. Sound quality is much better than other earbuds I have tried, including the Apple product. The Bluetooth has good range, I can walk around the house and most areas still have connectivity to the iPhone. Works well for phone calls. I also use them for TV listening late at night through a Clear Sounds Bluetooth transmitter (also recomended). When you get the buds well into the ear canal, bass is very good. When running, this usually isn't possible but sound is still good nevertheless. Charge lasts about 7 hours.

    Excellent!

These are the best iteration of bluetooth earphones I've come across yet. The technology in these is leaps ahead of others and has come a long way in the past couple of years. Very lightweight, very unobtrusive design, great battery life (8hrs expected and it did last) and excellent sound quality. These act like any other bluetooth device, listen to music, take phone calls and hear everything in stereo.

I have one small complaint. The earphone tips that come with this device are a silicone and do not fit well at all. Normally I use the standard medium size and usually never have trouble with foam pieces but this only comes with silicon pieces. If you search for Comply Foam Tips look for the T-500 series as these will fit these earphones. The Comply T-500s are a bit difficult to get one but they do fit and seal out sound and fit snugly. I picked up the T-500 multi-pack for $15 and now I'm good to go with workouts, cycling, etc. Very very pleased with this item.

    Major disappointment

    • Written by from Half Moon Bay

This is the first pair of earbuds I've bought specifically for my IPOD. I got them at an Apple store because I figured they would vet the stuff they sell. I wanted better sound and portability. The portability part was good, but the sound quality was significantly worse than the earbuds that came with the IPOD. The fit of these earbuds was exceptionally poor. Only one of the 3 sets of buds worked. I had to shove the one set that worked so far into my ear that it was very uncomfortable. Furthermore, if the bud moved even a little bit (up, down, in, out, etc), the sound quality would noticably get worse. The sound in the upper registers was pretty good. The sound in the lower registers was terrible. Maybe I wasn't getting the bass because of a poor fit, I don't know. In any case, the bass was lousy, particularly for the price. I'm returning them tomorrow.

    Painful Earbuds

    • Written by from Foothill Ranch

These headphones were introduced to me by my wife. She uses them for work and initially she really loved them. She encouraged me to get some so I did. I returned them in ten days because they hurt. In order to block out all the background noice, I had to literally shove them deep down into my ear canal. By the end of the day I was in pain. Besides that, everyone on the receiving end of my calls mentioned that they could hear even the cars driving by my house loudly. Just honest food for thought. I did not like them.

    3 pairs in 6 months

    • Written by from Stittsville

I was given a pair of these earbuds as a gift in February. Once properly fitted and paired they work great. Unfortunately, I've had 3 pairs quit on me. I wear them running and they get very wet from sweat, I'm assuming this is the problem. All 3 pairs quit mid workout and would not power back on (after a full charge). I really like them, when they work, but unfortunately I've had it with them. Time to move on.

    Good Performance

    • Written by from Las Cruces

Generally, I think these are very good wireless ear buds. They've been very easy to use. The sound quality is acceptable, the range is decent, and the battery life, while not quite as long (in my hands) as advertised, is still adequate for my purposes. I rarely give 5 stars, so 4 a good rating. I replaced the rubber fittings with foam fittings which improved the comfort of the ear buds in my ear. They're kind of pricey, but I'd recommend the product.

    Needs Significant Improvement

    • Written by from Tega cay

Sound quality is very good. However, comfort is poor and the case is useless. The rubber ear pads that fit over the speaker are not thick enough to fit snugly into the ear and protect against the hard shell that houses the speaker. Hence, they slip out, and if you jam it into your ear to get a good fit, they hurt. The case is a joke. You can't open it without long finger nails. There's nothing to grab onto to open it. Did this company not test its product before they released it to market with a $170 price tag????!!!!!!

If they fix the ear buds and their case and send me the retrofitted stuff, I'd give it high marks.

    Great for athletes!

    • Written by from Chapel Hill

I bought these after frustration with regular headphones shorting out after workouts. After reading several reviews on tech sites, and runner/workout sites (all highly rating them) I decided to pick them up.

The paired easy with my phone and tablet, and after some tinkering with the ear pieces I was able to get a perfect fit. At first the bugged my ears and cause irritation but I figured out I was rotating to far forward, so after a slight turn backwards they not only stayed in but gave me 8 hours worth of comfort.

I run at least 2 miles every morning and do Insanity at night with no issues of slipping out nor sweat causing shorts, or any other issues.

Best Bluetooth headset yet but not sweat proof

    • Written by from Oro Valley

    PRO
-best sound quality I've heard for bluetooth.
    -good dynamic range and volume.
    -comfortable
-stay in ears pretty well with activity
-good range: I can keep my phone in the locker and use my bluebuds all over the gym

    CONS
-Sounds cuts out momentarily about once per minute
-when you wear them over the ears, sweat from your hair shorts out the controls.
-The little rubber hooks that help hold the earpieces in fall off easily and get lost
-Earpieces break their seal during workout and you loose the base

    Best Bluetooth headphones

    • Written by from Toronto

These are my fifth (!) pair of Bluetooth headphones and my 3rd pair for sports activities. These are *by far* the best Bluetooth headphones I've used for running. Unlike most sub-compact pairs of Bluetooth headphones - they do not experience annoying signal dropouts if your transmitting device is not within perfect line of sight. The sound quality is almost identical to regular sports in-ear headphones. Battery life is good - about three hours for me. I recharge after every use - so far no problems with shortened battery life. I use with the iPod Nano and the iPad. My only quibble is that the little ear support braces fall off easily when removing the headphones. You have to remove the earphones carefully so as not to lose them.

    After some getting used to...

    • Written by from Pontypool

These headphones are excellent. In terms of sound quality, you won't find better in the bluetooth variety. Admittedly, they did take some getting used to. Worse, they took some tinkering around with to find the perfect fit. After about a week of being irritated I finally did find the perfect fit, though, and couldn't be happier. The size is perfect and doesn't look obscene. The battery life lasts an entire workday. I was surprised to find that the headphones even connect to my device (iMac) from across the room (depends on device- doesn't work as well with iPad).

Overall the convenience of being cordless is so worth the money paid for these headphones. I hope I still feel this way about them in the year(s) to come.

    Huge Let Down....

    • Written by from Clayton

I really wanted to like these headphones (I wanted wireless headphones for working out & walking around) but I had too many problems to justify keeping them. JayBird provides 3 different size ear tips & I tried them all. The large ones seemed to provide the best seal inside my ears but I could feel them slipping out with any type of significant movement. Once the earbuds begin to slip outside of your ear, you begin to lose the bass. I was somewhat willing to overlook this & push them back inside my ears every few minutes but then the battery life was no where near the advertised specs. After around 40 minutes of continuous use with Rdio's music app, I'd hear the battery low warning message which means that you only have 15 - 20 minutes left. I recharged the batteries & got the same results. Unacceptable! Sadly, I returned the BlueBuds to the store for a refund.

The price to pay for freedom

    • Written by from Watertown

After getting an iPhone 5 and having to deal with the (misplaced) headphone jack on the bottom always getting in the way, I couldn't take it any longer so I looked for a wireless headset. I came across these and was shocked by the price, but realized it was a small price to pay to not deal with that cord getting tangled up and yanked on all the time.

At first I was impressed with the sound, the weight, size, but the ear buds didn't fit well and it was impossible to get a good seal without them falling out all the time. I was about it call it quits on these, when I found some after market earphone tips from a company called Comply. Not only did the new tips make these fit properly and keep the headphone from slipping out all the time, they improved the sound quality significantly as well as improved the isolation. If you can afford these, they are well worth the price, but some aftermarket earphone tips are a must to make these shine.

Also, they battery life is great, and they work really well for making phone calls.

    BlueBuds X

    • Written by from Houston

I bought these headphones mostly for the gym, however little did I know that they would become my go-to pair for everything. The bluetooth works well, the sound quality is great, the bass is not too heavy so you can turn up the volume without getting a headache. The battery level indicator on my iPhone 5 is awesome (my bro wishes he had that feature on his bluetooth Beats) and they last around 6hrs with a full charge, like 3 gym sessions for me.

If you want these for the gym: There are clamps you can put on that make the headphones perfect for runs and very movement-heavy exercises. I sweat a lot and have had these for 4 months and theyre like new!

If you want them for everyday use: I have mine connected to my iPad and MacBook Pro all the time and they work just fine, connecting them is not hard at all. Being a college student, I use them during walks and I love that they dont have cords.

Probably one of my all time best purchases!

Excellent light weight earbuds for running

    • Written by from Valhalla

I was very hesitant once I bought these that they would stay fit while running. I think all the reviews are correct in that the under ear configuration does not work well for running as the cord side with the on/off dongle pulls the cord to one side and is not optimal. However, with the over the ear configuration, these buds are fantastic.

    Pros:
    - Lightweight
    - Excellent sound
    - Excellent battery life
    - Good over ear fit
    - Fit is modifiable with given accessories

    Cons:
    - Price
    - Poor under ear fit
    - Does not work well as a microphone
    - Really only useful for exercise
