    Great for home use

    • Written by from Arlington

I purchased the printer on February 11, so here's my "48-hour old" review. I closely followed the directions and had it setup and running in less than 15 minutes...it worked flawlessly right out of the box. It easily connected to my home network and I then installed it wirelessly as the default printer on an iMac, MacBook and MacBook Air. In each instance it printed a test page the first time. I was also able to print from an iPhone and an iPad. I haven't used the fax yet, but I did scan a document as a PDF to my iMac. I had a minor problem installing the cartridges, but only because the space is a bit cramped and I have large hands. At this stage, I'd recommend it to a friend.

    Excellent home printer

    • Written by from Charleston

I've owned this printer since early November. I went to Epson's site for the drivers and installed them rather than using the disk provided. Once set up, it immediately found my home network and all Apple devices (MacBook Airs, IPads and IPhones) in the house can print from it without fail. This is the best feature of this printer as far as my family is concerned. It is easy on ink and the print quality is good. The only con is that the scanner had a little bit of a learning curve and the feeder is sometimes finicky but the scan quality is good. I recommend this printer/scanner.

    OSX software is AWFUL

    • Written by from Vancouver

I wanted to be able to scan from the printer using the printer buttons so spent hours trying to get their flawed software to work. Even their installation disk does not install their "Epson Scan" product but no matter as it didn't work anyway.

And their "Event Manager" software does not respond (spinning ball of death). There is no support from Epson online for OSX other than the basic installation instructions (that do not work).

I ended up deleting all of the Epson software and just have to be happy scanning from my Mac using Image Capture and the basic OSX driver for the printer. That part does work well.

I'd love to hear if there is a printer out there for Mac OSX that will scan from the printer buttons over a network.

    AirPrint Not Working

    • Written by from Burnsville

AirPrint does not work out of the box. The printer is connected to my Wi-Fi network. My Mac is able to find it on the network. But my iPhone does not. The EPSON support page said I may need to update the firmware from my Mac. The EPSON firmware updater can't even find the printer, even though the Mac OS can. I guess I will just use this for printing from my Mac, but the whole reason I got it was for AirPrint :(

    Perfect for small business!

    • Written by from Star

My favorite thing about this printer would have to be the ability to print remotely. I can be driving back to the office, load the document in the Epson iPrint app and send it to the printer and pick it up when I arrive. This has saved me literally 20-30 minutes each time I print something.

The settings on this thing are astounding. I love that I can scan to email addresses, or even DropBox. It makes sending the scanned files easy.

Other reviews have said it's loud, which I'm not sure if that's true, I have it in a closet because there's really no reason for me to have it out anymore: I don't need to plug it into my laptop, I don't need it sitting on my desk taking up space.

My only beef, I guess, is that the scanning is a bit slow. Sure you can load 30 docs into the page feed, but holy cow that would take forever to scan. It's really not a big enough problem to dock this awesome life and business saving printer a whole star.

    good enough for the price

    • Written by from sunland

seems the issues/complaints i read about are operator error. air print works fine as long as i set up properly. the scan works fine it does scan a bit slow but no big deal. all i can say to those with complaints is read the instructions and follow them. for air print epson has an app that works nicely for free, the only issue is the wireless connection goes away so i have to push the wireless button but that could be my router will no for sure after some more use.

error message: unable to connect to printer

    • Written by

The printer sounded great. My husband set it up with his PC and with my Mac. It works fine with his PC, but inconsistently with my Mac. I keep getting an error notification saying it is unable to connect to the printer. I have tried to re-install it 3 times now and also tried troubleshooting based on online reviews. It will work once or twice, but then the error message appears again. Works great to print from and scan to my email, but it's not worth re-installing the driver every time I want to print from my Mac! I debated just buying a two-way USB cord to hardline to the printer, but that's not the point of a wireless printer. This is going back to best buy today. Thank goodness there is no re-stocking fee within 15 days.

    good and bad

    • Written by from LOS OSOS

The bad part about this printer is that it is a major pain to set up to use all the features. By this I don't mean plugging in the cables. I mean getting it to work using the EpsonConnect service.

The software CD that comes with the printer includes the 'basic' software you need to use the printer with your computer, but for some strange reason does NOT include the software needed to use EpsonConnect. You have to go to the Epson website and download that. I'm sorry, but to me, that's a bit stupid.
However, once I did get the printer set up, I discovered some of the very cool features it has; one of which is what is called 'scan to cloud'. This is a very cool feature with the exception that it does NOT support Apple's iCloud. I really hope they remedy this very soon.

All things considered though, this is a very cool printer, I like the expanded wifi features such as iPrint and AirPrint. But I think the scan to cloud feature is the one thing I'll use the most. It is a good printer for the price.

    When it prints...

    • Written by from Louisville

When it prints it's a nice printer. The printer prints for a while and then you have to set up the wifi again. Scanning was always an issue and even when the printer was connected with USB the Mac Mini could not find the printer. Printer goes back to Best Buy tomorrow. I hate that I already spent $80 on XL printer cartridges.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR iPAD, iPHONE set up

    • Written by from belmont

So far so good - BUT had to call Apple and it took a lot of time. The instructions in the Epsom install instructions are incorrect for the iOS, it says the file is not available for this operating system. So once you get the printer up and load the paper/ink, skip step 7 where you download the printer drivers, and go straight to wifi, set that up, and then you should be able to print (square with an up arrow on the ipad page) immediately. Epsom really needs to update their documentation.

I purchased this printer several days ago. After unpacking the printer, within 10 minutes the printer was connected to my wireless network. No problems at all. No wires. EPSON PRINTERS

    • Written by from Olympia

switched completely to EPSON printers. Found that with Macs at home and Windows at work the WF (WorkForce) series worked without problem. I have two WF-3540s. I have been very satified with the ease of use, setup and print function of these printers. Will never buy HP again.

    Slow but efficient

    • Written by from AUBURN

I purchased this printer in Jan 2013. The only thing that I absolutely hate about it is that it is SLOW! Other than that it is a great printer. I am going to upgrade in a couple of months. I hope the newer printers aren't as slow. I hate being limited on my selection of printers. I had a brand new printer that was perfect for my other system (non Apple product) until I purchased my new and first MAC...in which I will never get rid of because I absolutely LOVE it......back to the printer, otherwise the cost was great, replacing the ink is affordable, and it prints well!

    Fantastic Printer!

    • Written by from Loomis

I have never been excited about a printer before, but this one is fantastic. It is incredibly easy to set up with the MacBook Pro. It makes beautiful, and easy, two-sided copies. And AirPrint is so easy with my iPad. I can be downstairs, send something to my printer upstairs, and I can hear it printing in seconds.
I highly recommend this compact printer.

I have to say Epson WorkForce has to be one of the best printers i ever owned. The operating system is so easy to understand and it runs smoothly with barley any noise coming from the machine. I love it and i would be a returning customer. Thanks Epson for making my life much easier.

    Okay, works

    • Written by from Cottonwood

Nice size ...... Small! Easy to set up, and Wifi is fairly easy. My MacBook Pro, iPad and iPod all connect. The iPad struggles but the iPod works great as does the MacBook Pro. Why the iPod 3G connects better than the iPad is a mystery. Wish it was the other way around....

Sure wish there was a paper tray and little thought and effort put into interfacing with the iPad.

I'd pay more for better quality in construction!

    It works !

    Excellent product

    • Written by from Fremont

I have had this printer for 2 days now, I cannot say enough about it! Such a great printer, its compact for a "all in one". Prints and scans very efficiently.

The wireless is extremely easy to setup, you can print from anywhere you would like, and scanning documents to your computer has never been easier!

I know a lot of you had been concerned about the ink they supply you with saying you only printed 5 documents before running out of ink, however I have printed 50 sheets up paper color and black and white & I still have plenty of ink left.

The printer does feel "cheap" but its a great bang for your buck. I would not hesitate to purchase again.
