First time of me using these I noticed that the left side is very faint, so I put the right side in my left ear and it was perfect. Don't know if I need to do something to correct this. Am thinking of going back to Apple Store for advice. If it wasn't for this I think they would be perfect. Found no instructions on how to use the microphone though.

    Don't Waste Your Time

    • Written by from Zetland

As others have said these headphones don't deliver. The sound quality for music is quite good once you have the correct fit but I found spoken word/podcasts very tinny and just not sounding as they should.

As many have said the cable distorts whatever you're listening too whenever it touches anything which is completely unacceptable, and I also found changing the ear caps a nightmare and took me much longer than it should.

The best thing about these headphones sadly is Apple's awesome service and no questions asked return/exchange policy as you will need it.

    Terrible build

    • Written by from Cambridge

A lot of the reviewers seem to have the same experience but I wanted to echo my displeasure with these headphones. I bought them yesterday and will be returning them tomorrow.

    -Sound quality is really good
-I'm really not into the multi-sizes, find-your-fit silicone pieces but the ones it came pre-installed with actually fit me just fine

-Cable is a lot longer than necessary. 1.5m?
-If the cable rubs against anything (ANYTHING - even your shirt), the cable carries and even amplifies the sound in the earpieces. To the point that the sound of the friction is louder than your music. You basically have to stay completely still when using the headphones. Forget about walking or moving around while using them. Terrible build; who tested these and let them pass?

    Good sound but that's all

    • Written by from Palo Alto

These are the most maddening headphones I've ever used. The cable rubs on your collar or other piece of clothing and it resonates directly to the earbuds causing extra noise that is amplified.
Nice selection of replacement ear buds but none of them stay in my ear. Never had that problem before.
Avoid these and stick with the regular Apple white earphones IMHO.

    I'll be returning them.

The sound quality was very good.

-Whenever the cord hit something, it seemed like that sound was transmitted quite loudly and was distracting while exercising.
-Those orange inserts in the rubber ear cushions are long and you feel them when you put the buds in your ears--that said, I didn't seem to notice it with use.

    RHA MA450i headphones

    • Written by from Ottawa

These headphones we're actually pretty good at first. The price is exceptionally high for these, because there are a huge number of headphones better than these. They lasted about two months until the cord where the mic is died. I do not recommend buying these, just stick to cheaper headphones as these are probably worth 15-20$ rather than 50$. I hope you find this useful, because if i read this before i bought them, i could have saved so much money.

    Fundamentally Flawed

    • Written by from London

They're nicely made, well presented, sound reasonably good, but are quite fundamentally flawed.
The cables are wrapped in a quite hard woven material which transmits quite a lot of annoying sound directly to your ears when it rubs on your clothing. As a result they're fine when sat still, but almost useless when walking or on the move.
Sound isolation okay but not amazing. I would honestly not choose them over the new Apple set.
    Very disappointing.

Ear Buds transmit too much noise

    • Written by from Pylesville

On a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate the sound quailty as a 9, but the big problem with them is the transmission of noise when the wires between the Ear Buds and the Iphone plug-in port rubs against any surface. If you don't move your head and the wires remain perfectly still, there is no noise. But if you move, the rubbing noise transmitted to your hearing is very disturbing and I will have to rate them as a 2 for this noise problem.

Distortions in the upper ranges and whenever anything touches the cord (your collar, your chin), it produces a muffled sound (like dragging your finger across a microphone). Would return them but I seem to be outside the 15-day return...

Sounded really good, but failed after only 2 months

    • Written by from Ottawa

sounded really good out of the box. they seem to pick up and transfer to the ear a lot of noise (when the cable rubs agains your clothing for example). probably due to the fabric wrap on the cable. that makes these annoying unless sitting still. the fabric wore out at the base of the jack about a month after purchase. the left headphone failed after 2 months. for 50$ i expect to get more then 2 months of use.

Good sound but bad build quality

    • Written by from Fillmore

After buying these headphones I was blown away with the quality of sound as well as the fit into my ear. Being a bit hard of hearing these were a welcome change from the ones that come with the phone. About a month out of warranty the left bud started shorting in and out. Now it is completely dead. Of course Apple will not replace them as they are out of warranty and I do not expect them to. But I would have expected better build quality or to at least last 6 months. I will be buying a different brand and won't be purchasing this one again.

    Good while they last

    • Written by from Dover

I've had these headphones for two months and they've worked great until last week when the right earbud just ceased to work. They're good while they last, but "long lasting" is not accurate. i assume other reviews are after a few days use, so please take this into consideration and buy some really nice ones, like the ones around 200-300 dollars.

Nice in-ear buds ruined by irksome cord

    • Written by from San Francisco

I was excited to find these in-ear headphones as the price is right. I live in a noisy city and need headphones that block out noise when I walk outside. Unfortunately I just haven't enjoyed this pair due to an annoying cord. The cord is wrapped in fabric and is extra-long. Both of these are negatives to me. The biggest problem is that the cloth cord picks up every vibration as you walk and amplifies the noise due to the in-ear seal. Every step I take is loudly played back in my ears. If I hold the cord so that it doesn't touch any part of my body they're fine, but that gets old fast. Plus the cord is super long, so long that I had to wrap part of it up with a velcro tie. That makes it hard to put in your pocket.

Too bad. The sound is good. The volume/call control is the best one I've used. It's easy to press and rounded so it doesn't catch on shirt collars. All in all these can be great headphones, but only if you stand still.

I needed to replace my Apple in-ear headphones. I'd get another pair if they would update the volume control like on the new Apple earpods. In the mean time I'll just keep waiting.
