I am disappointed about the fit of the battery in the Magic Mouse. It does not seem to fit properly in my Magic Mouse and works it's way lose. Otherwise the product works just as expected, really cool.

    Mobee charger

    • Written by from Citrus Heights

Nice charger, I did notice one thing however, when removing the Alkaline batteries to install new Mobee battery pack, the pack had approx. 53% of charge on them. To my understanding, rechargeables retain "memory" I let the battery pack get down to approx. 3% before recharging them. I've had my charger for awhile now. No issues.
    Works great!

More style and price then substance

    • Written by from Markham

My initial impression of the product was resoundingly positive. Several reviews talked of effortless and fast charging, and how great the item was in style and function. And in fact, that's what i thought when I first purchased for $50. But the honeymoon soon wore off. Here are the shortcomings after the first week -

    - Unit can not plug into wall, only USB. However, when I would like to be charging my mouse is when my iMac is asleep. But when my iMac is asleep, power ia cut to USB -- a catch-22. I found I was constantly then having to place it on the charger for short periods, interrupting my work flow. if i didn't do this, the mouse would get erratic then stop working.

    - The device, while seemingly simple to use, needs a rethink. For instance, offer 2 charging packs instead of one, and make it so you can swap out a charge pack from a wall charger. This does 2 things... eliminates any charging downtime, and leaves a USB port free that the current "soap dish" steals. Imagine if you were always having to set your cordless drill down on a pad a couple times per week, exactly when you needed to be working. It's just dumb.

    - Lastly is the price. For all the fancy inductive charging (which didn't charge very fast for me), I could buy a great wall charger and 3 sets of AA batteries, and even grab a small meal and coffee. by having 3 sets of batteries, you can now get in on the recharge game for not only the mouse, but the wireless keyboard as well -- something the Mobee can't help you with.

I'll be returning the two purchased.

    Great Concept - Poor Quality

    • Written by from White River Junction

Poor instructions and broken cable! The set up instructions printed on the box and those on Mobee's web site are meager and misleading. The box shows an illustration of the USB plugged into what appears to be a keyboard, and the web site states use "any USB port". NOT TRUE! After charging my Magic Mouse for 18 hrs and no full charge indicated, I logged into Mobee's FAQ page to read that the charger needs a full powered USB port such as what's on the computer and not the one a Mac keyboard. While unplugging from my keyboard, the cable separated from the USB plug. Currently, I'm disappointed and awaiting what Mobee does about my request for a replacement USB cable.

It would be nice if it worked

    • Written by from Union Dale

I really wanted this product to work. It's a great idea but it just isn't engineered right. The battery pack does not fit properly and this causes the mouse to lose the connection a few seconds after you touch the mouse.

Apple does not provide tech support for the product and apparently the manufacturer does not either.

I'm amazed that Apple even sells this in their store. Fortunately they will accept the returns but I wish I had not wasted my time.

DOA right out of the box.

    • Written by from Northampton

Spent $49 (huh?) at an official Apple dealer, thing won't charge. It's been 36+ hours, base station keeps blinking red.

Buy a good set of rechargeable batteries and charger. Forget this nonsense.

This was a cool option to replace battery use in my mouse at first. THEN it stopped holding a charge within months of operation. It is a piece of junk that would be better priced at $15 for the quality you get. I will not be buying another unit. Also, batteries should be sold separately because you will need replacements every few months but they aren't available to purchase separately. I highly do not recommend this product.

    Great product!

    • Written by from Glen Ridge

Don't be fooled by reviews submitted by people improperly setting up the product. I have not yet been able to reproduce issues reported by others: mainly because I have it installed and charged correctly. If interested, be sure to do the following:

    1. Charge the battery first. Set up the base and place the battery pack on top without the mouse.
    2. Install battery correctly. This means installing it as if you were installing the original back-plate: at an angle. It may require some extra pressure, but thats expected since there is a tension spring on the pack. Inserting the pack in straight and level will not work and cause the issue reported by another use where the pack drops out of the mouse.
    3. Continue use as directed by Mobee. Ignore the reviews posted by those who simply like writing bad reviews.

    Did not fit

    • Written by from Columbia

I was finally ready to take the plunge on this charger and was pretty excited when it arrived. However, the battery pack back would not stay secured to my Magic Mouse. I tried and tried and it would just pop off. So, I packaged it up and sent it back. Not sure if there is something different about my Magic Mouse or what. My MM is a few years old so maybe that is the issue and this product works wiith the newer one. Not sure. Anyway, back to the old rechargeable batteries for me. Too bad.

Not sure why there are ANY negative reviews on this product as i have 3 of these units and each does exactly what it is supposed to do without any issues. I have owned them for at least a year and would never go back to using a mouse with batteries

    Pure Junk

    • Written by from San Luis Obispo

First thing I did was plug the USB End into a iPod charger. It took 30+ hours to charge. Once charged it works till the battery starts to drain down. Once that happens it will disconnect at times.

After about a month I found out the charge will not last very long at all. Must charge it every day or two. Lots of hassle. Forget to charge it then have fun replacing it with batteries as the cover is flimsy.

Worse 40.00 I've ever spent. In the trash it went.

I was hesitant when I read some of the less than optimal reviews but I went for it and picked this up. I love it, it installed easily and charges as advertised. Now I never experience the "disconect / connect" loop and the mouse is always ready to go.

Horrible product and troubleshooting thru Mobee

    • Written by from NANAIMO

First off, after the battery pack was fully charged, I tried using my mouse to find out that it won't even turn on. I tried several times replacing the battery pack, but to no avail. One of the worst parts is that the battery pack gets jammed into the mouse, and I had to use a tool to pry it out (being careful not to damage our beautiful mouse). Definitely not ready to be sold until all the bugs are worked out.

    Good idea, bad execution

    • Written by from Fishkill

I agree with the review that it's a flop. I'm having same problem. I will now have to drive all the way to an apple store to have them safely remove the charger from magic mouse because I can no longer use the mouse. This is a product that is not yet ready for production. Needs more testing. It's horrible. I shouldn't have so much trouble. Also, try adding better instructions and trouble shooting to your packaging if you are going to have a product that doesn't work out of the box.
