    Does not charge reliably

    • Written by from Durham

I've been using one of these for 8 months now. Although there are benefits to never having to worry about replacing batteries, those benefits are easily outweighed by how this device will not charge reliably.

I would expect to be able to set the mouse on the charging pad and have the light turn from red to blinking green (indicating that it is charging,) but that rarely happens so easily. Instead, I have to keep taking the mouse off the charger and "dropping" it from about an 1/8th of an inch above the charger until it lands in a fashion that causes whatever is not connecting to connect. This is a raindance I do every night before bed if I hope to have a usable mouse the next day.

On top of that, the blinking green light is supposed to turn solid green when the mouse has finished charging. This never happens. Not once in the time I have owned this have I ever seen a solid green light. I could leave it for days, and the light will never turn solid green. The most common light? Solid red. That just means nothing's charging. Second most common light? Blinking red. That means, "something is wrong, but don't worry about trying to figure it out; it's really just a symptom of a sub-par product. Try again later."

If and when I can get the charge to "stick" and the blinking green light to commence, I have to watch it to make sure it stays green and blinking. I failed to do this last night, and this morning I awoke to a solid red light again, as if the mouse was not sitting on the charger all night, which it was. It also has no charge.

Stay away from Mobee products. They do not "just work" like you would expect something found at the Apple Store to do.

    Broke quickly and doesn't work.

    • Written by from Indiana

This looked like a great item to keep from using batteries in the Magic Mouse. But one end of the plate containing the rechargeable battery is so fragile that in trying to put it in place it bent and broke within a few minutes even with gentle handling. When I finally got the batteries in and could hold it in place with my finger, it wouldn't work. I don't think it's even worth returning at this point. Part of the problem is the instructions are so minimal it's hard to tell how to put the rechargable batteries in, set it up and charge it.

    Not Ready For Prime Time

    • Written by from Miami

I have used this for nearly three months. The unit has become unreliable and now when charging the battery pack I get constant green blinking lights then once in a while a red one.

The bluetooth feature connects and disconnects so much now it has forced me to go back to regular batteries or rechargeable.

I would pass on this unit at it truly is a great idea... but it is not ready for prime time. Spend your money on a good AA rechargeable battery set.

    Wish I could return it.

    Bad half made product

    • Written by from Old lyme

This is a half made product, good idea but is a low quality product, battery pack is badly designed so the contacts bend easily and brake contact with the mouse. Waste of time and money :(

    Junk!

    • Written by from Reading

Worked ok for a few days, now will randomly disconnect many time a day, reconnects 10 seconds later and works fine. Seems the battery doesn't fit tight enough and momentarily looses connection causing the BT to disconnect.

Not worth the money, went back to regular batteries and no more issues!

    Worse product I ever used.

it only goes to 75% changed when it's fully charged. And it stop working just few months. Now it's just sitting there collecting dust. I can't believe I actually bought it. DO NOT BUY IT!

    Garbage. Don't buy.

    • Written by from Seattle

Nice idea, but the technology is half-baked at best. We bought these for our office for the same reasons that other people did: save money on batteries, etc. But we couldn't even get a single unit to work properly. The mice simply wouldn't even turn on with the 'power-pack' attached. Disappointed, so we returned them and opted for Duracell rechargeable batteries. Much happier now.

    It is useless

    • Written by from Bern

I bought this without checking the reviews - what a mistake. I opened up the package and left the battery to charge on the very attractive desk station. After about five hours I inserted it into my magic mouse - not an easy step, the plastic housing is very very fragile and bends so easily. Got it in OK, then the mouse would not switch on. The battery was charged (full green LED on station). So, struggled to get it out as the housing is not a good fit to the mouse. Read the various support forum advice from Mobee - was no help. Inserted again - again no power on the mouse when I switched it on.

Then, I read all the reviews here and found that once the power was working then many people had problems with the BT link not being stable.

Decided to take it back and I bought a set of rechargeable batteries.

Disappointing - the idea is great, execution does not work.

    Useless

    • Written by from Mendocino

I took the battery pack out of the box, tried to put it into the mouse, and PRESTO!! The thing broke. Literally right out of the box. The housing is made of typical junk grade plastic. Now I'm contemplating whether or not it is worth it to send the thing back, or just throw it in the trash. Thanks, Mobee.

Good idea but not a great product

    • Written by from Boston

I too purchased this a few months ago and it worked perfect until my mouse stopped recognizing the battery pack. I thought that there was a problem with the mouse so I went back to regular batteries and the mouse worked fine. I purchased a second battery pack to test if it was the mouse or the pack and my mouse will not recognize the new pack at all. This after fully charging the pack for more than 5 hours. Needless to say I am returning this pack for a refund and Apple should stop selling this product since it is not compatible with its mouse. Bottomline save your cash and use regular batteries.

    Junk - do not buy

    • Written by from FAIRBANKS

My children purchased this for me as a gift for father's day.

It stops working connecting and disconnecting probably three times an hour. It obviously isn;t connecting with the mouse innards properly and the metal base bends easily making it useless.

    Piece of junk

    • Written by from Tucson

This product is just a piece of junk. It almost ruined my apple magic mouse -- while I inserted it into the mouse, it did not work; and it takes me 2 hours to get this out of my mouse.

    Just doesn't work properly

    • Written by from Toronto

My experience with this product seems different to what I've read from most. I was able to charge the batteries and connect the mouse. The problem was scrolling. It moves painfully slowly in a vertical direction and not at all in any other direction. Back to basic batteries.

    simply does not work

    • Written by from San Francisco

this product just doesn't work. it appears simple and i have communicated with mobee about how to make sure the battery pack works, but it will simply not turn on and run my magic mouse despite all other signs (green light, etc.) saying it should work. this is the worst technology purchase i've ever made. worthless. my disposable batteries lasted for over 3 months so i think i'll just stick with them.

    Does not Work

    • Written by from New York

I had the same problem mentioned in several of the other reviews: Despite charging the mouse overnight (first with the rechargeable battery in the mouse and then just the rechargeable battery), my iMac was never able to detect the mouse and the mouse's power light never came on. I emailed Mobee support and they did try to help (asking me to email them photos of the battery contacts) but I have already invested too much time in this. I hope they get the manufacturing kinks worked out one day.

this thing looks so easy, but mine just won't work. it says its charged, but as soon as i take it off the charger the red light goes on and it won't work. you're better off just changing batteries - its not that hard. this is a $50 piece of junk.

    Extremely Disappointed!

    • Written by from Mississauga

The concept and the look of the Magic Charger is great but only if it works. I charged the a battery overnight, installed it but the mouse didn't work. What made the situation more frustrating was removing the battery from the mouse. The battery fits too "perfectly" inside the mouse which it makes it very difficult to remove it afterward. I took it to an Apple store and they too couldn't take it off. Because it's a third party accessory, Apple will not take responsibility for the product even though I bought it off their website. I emailed Mobee and they gave me a tip on removing it but that didn't work either. In the end, I was able to pry it open (with extreme care!) with a small pocket knife and thank god, I didn't damage the mouse. To say I'm disappointed with the whole experience is an understatement.

Not to be so negative, I am extremely satisfied and having fun with my first iMac purchase ever.

Induction Battery Pack has no power and is very malleable

    • Written by from Los Angeles

Put the induction battery pack in the mouse. Let it charge on base until base's light was a constant green. Tried to turn on the mouse, but had no success. I don't think the mouse is getting power because its little green light is never coming on. I want to push or re-seat the induction battery pack, but it is flimsy and only slightly stronger than a piece of aluminum foil. I will be returning it.
