As you'd The cover snugly encloses my iPad Air and provides a good seal between the front flap and the case the whole way around. As you'd expect, the cutouts line up perfectly and the automatic lock / unlock function also works well.

However, the smart case isn't a great iPad stand. The flap does not provide enough stability for tablet manipulation (typing, launching apps etc) when folded back on itself when standing in the upright, requiring a second hand to support it to prevent it from falling over. Also, in the slightly inclined mode, the strength of the magnet built into the case is insufficient to keep the cover folded back on itself, and as a result the case usually collapses in on itself. Even when it doesn't, the incline is only slightly more angled than horizontal anyway.

Beca Honestly, the quality of the case itself is great, but it has a design flaw. When the cover is closed, it doesn't lay flat. Because of the way the hinge material (between the case and cover) was designed to be sturdy, it holds the cover up about 1/16th of an inch. This, in turn, makes the cover not lay flat as the back pane of the cover (nearest the hints) is raised and the other two panels of the cover lay flat. It's significant enough that it's very noticeable when looking at it.

Nice, soft leather with an even softer interior to protect you iPad Air. Full coverage front and back so no worries about scratching your device. Thin and light so it complements the tablet. The only complaint I have is when the cover is folded and used as a stand, I have to position it just right otherwise the triangular "base" created by the cover collapses and the unit falls backwards. This seems to be because the cover is soft. Perhaps the polyurethane cases will work better since they appear more rigid.

They made the cover out of three sections as opposed to the four sections that the iPad gen 4 smart cover was. Because it is three sections, it doesn't give a strong base to stand on and the cover folds into itself when trying to prop the iPad up. I returned it and will be getting a third party case.

An attractive, well constructed cover for light protection of my iPad Air. It's perfect for protecting my Air at home or on periodic trips to the office. The fit and finish is superb. My oldest case was purchased as soon as they arrived on the market and is holding up beautifully. But then again, I don't put much demand on it. I have other Air cases and shells should I need heavier duty protection. All in all, I'm totally satisfied with my Apple Ipad Air Smart Case. I must be - I now have it in four different colors.

The tri-fold cover is flawed! If they had added one more fold; or made the folds narrower, it would prop up the ipad air better. The tri-fold cover is flawed! If they had added one more fold; or made the folds narrower, it would prop up the ipad air better. regretting the buy.
