This is at LEAST the 4th or 5th cord I have ordered for her in the past year. All of a sudden, they just stop working. If it was some $5 cord that I got at the dollar store, I would understand, but this is an Apple product. NOT what you would expect. . .and for there to be no acknowledgement from Apple that these cords do not work when reviewer after reviewer says the same thing is just so. . .un-apple-like. Usually, they are so responsive. Is anyone listening at Apple? Figure out what is wrong with these cords or compensate the consumers by replacing them for free.

These cords keep crinking despite how careful I am. I am on my 6th cord in less then a year and a half. Apple refuses to cover it and its really making me angry. I never had this problem with my iPhone 4 charger. Apple… why won't you back your own product?

I have bought amazon.com junk lighting connectors I ordered two of them at once and got them in the mail one was broke on arrival I have bought amazon.com junk lighting connectors I ordered two of them at once and got them in the mail one was broke on arrival and soon the other broke. So finally I bought this cable which is the same length as the ones I purchased elsewhere and you can feel the cable difference. Worth the money to have the longer cable.

Downside- apple should send these with the device...

I've bought so many apple chargers I'm so done buying these useless chargers. Apple's products are already expensive enough, on to I've bought so many apple chargers I'm so done buying these useless chargers. Apple's products are already expensive enough, on top of that they want us spending money on a new cord like every month (thats an exaggeration), but seriously i've bought around 7 cords already not including my other family members in my household, apple really needs to fix this or they're going to lose customers for having bad quality cords.

My wife and I must do something different because we have each had our iPhone 5 for two years and both still use the original cables. Not sure why everyone is having so many issues. A co-worker picked up an off brand 5ft cable from the phone store and experienced a connection problem but not with the Apple cable.

I've seen a lot of reviews on here complaining about how this is their 4th or 5th one - most of which allude to children, pets, or something else along those lines. I've had 4 cables total (all apple lightning cables) since the iPhone 5 came out (fall 2012). None of the cables have given me ANY issues. Then again, I'm a young professional who doesn't have pets that chew through cables, children who eat/bend them, or the IQ to try and eat or treat my cables like play-doh. Only complaint I have about the cable is that it is horrendously expensive, but you can consider that the "apple tax".
