App controls the WeMo Switch and WeMo Motion.
The iPhone home remote. Control stuff in your home – from anywhere.
Belkin’s new WeMo system is a family of simple, ingenious products that use your iPhone and your home Wi-Fi® network to connect you to the things and people you love. WeMo is your home at your fingertips.
WeMo can control just about anything.
With WeMo you can turn on a light from another room, or turn it off from across town. You can put your home on a schedule—living room lights go on in the evening, kids’ TV goes off at bedtime. You can check to make sure you turned the iron off, after you’ve already left. WeMo Switch is the iPhone home remote.
The Complete WeMo System.
The WeMo App runs on your iPhone and controls any electronic device you plug into a WeMo Switch—if you can plug it in, you can turn it on or off with WeMo. And WeMo Motion lets you control the devices when motion is detected. Have the floor lamp go on when you enter the living room, and turn off when you leave.
WeMo Switch and WeMo Motion are available at major retailers.
The WeMo family of products is great at automating repetitive tasks, and at allowing you to control your household in ways you’d never thought possible.
The beauty of WeMo is it’s completely modular. You can control as much or as little of your home as you like. Control one light, one room, or the whole house. There’s no limit to what WeMo can do. If you can think of it, you can probably do it with WeMo. WeMo is your home at your fingertips.

They are very straight forward to install and work with the existing double and triple socket faceplates. But it is not recommend for 2 or 3 way light switching. The instructions and online video’s via the Belkin website is easy to follow, as well as using your own common sense. I have been running these switches for about a month via my iPhone 4S, using the WeMo application. I configured it, so that the lighting is automated. This is ideal for the short daylight of winter and long nights of darkness here in Alberta. Excellent product, well done Belkin. …

It took some doing but so far, I love it!

Setting up both switches with the app was a little tricky. The first switch set up without a problem but the other required a restart of my phone and wireless network. Even then, the 2nd Wemo network didn't immediately show up. Eventually, after a few tries, I got it working.
Ironically, the hardest part about the installation was the fact that one of my bulbs had blown (I think I have a short). Therefore, I mistakenly thought that the switch was not working for quite some time. :)

Excellent - if you have the correct electrical box
I installed one of these last week and it works great. Now we can turn the light on and off by pushing the switch itself or using I installed one of these last week and it works great. Now we can turn the light on and off by pushing the switch itself or using the app installed on our iPhones. The kids thought it was hilarious that mommy was controlling the lights remotely while on a trip. The app shows if the light is on or off and even when remote it seems to always match reality.
Installation notes - you must have a fairly deep electrical box (the thing in your wall where the wires come in) for the Wemo switch to fit, as it is a very deep part. If you have very stiff wire or multiple wires coming into the box it might be a tight fit. The front of the Wemo switch is a standard size so you can use the existing cover from a rocker type light switch (if it isn't metal) instead of the oversize plate that is included. Finally, the firmware update that you will probably have to do after connecting to your network should be done after you have finished installation and your circuit breaker is back on for good. It took several minutes and cutting power in the middle of a firmware update is a good way to brick most electronics. …
