The vents are circular and the slats are curved with a honeycomb pattern on the inside. What this means is that it doesn't fit tight on the slat and the curve allows it to pivot on the point of contact. It work great in other cars (my wife's, rentals, etc.) and I'd still recommend it. But for my car there are probable better options. …

Exactly what I was looking for, and works exactly as intended
Until I read some of the review of the Airframe, I did not believe that something this small and simple could work this well. I h Until I read some of the review of the Airframe, I did not believe that something this small and simple could work this well. I have been using the Airframe for over four months, and it has worked flawlessly. When shopping for car mounts, I was disappointed at the dash and window mounted options. I just wanted a mount that positioned my phone high enough on the dash to let my eyes stay on the road, and close enough to my seated position so that I could easily access the phone when needed.
The Airframe clips to the vent blade very tightly. I use an iPhone 5s with a case, and even over bumpy roads the Airframe keeps a snug grip on the phone with no audible vibrations or rattling.
Potential issues to watch out for would include the positioning of the car's air vents and whether you can switch the individual vents off. In the winter, if you have the heater on full blast, I would imagine that blasting the back of a phone with hot air is not a good thing if you cannot close that vent. And the rest of the year, especially on damp mild days, having the AC cooling off the phone might create condensation. Again, not a good thing if you cannot close the vent.
But, even with these potential issues (which do not apply in my situation), the Airframe is a very viable alternative to the comparatively clumsy dash and window mounting options. …

Best Compact Mount but Don't Move It!!
I wanted to give this 5 stars. It is a perfect little mount as opposed to one of those huge suction mounts. It is very strong. I wanted to give this 5 stars. It is a perfect little mount as opposed to one of those huge suction mounts. It is very strong. I made the mistake of transferring it from car to car and over time the feet came loose. The last time I tried to move it the rubber on the foot got stuck in the vent and now I have a piece of rubber in my vent with no chance of getting out and I can smell the rubber when I turn on my air conditioning. If it wouldn't have broke I would have given it 5 stars. I had it for only a few months. …

It can depend on how sturdy the "fins" in your vents are - the Subaru's pop out if you try to do it with one hand. The fins in my Commodore seem more sturdy and I can manage it with 1 hand if I practice.
Hope this helps!
