For years my arm has been getting more and more uncomfortable when I do my graphics work. I thought it is just a normal consequence of using a computer all day long and maybe I have to accept it. Then I saw this Vertical Mouse. At first I thought it is too weird, but I was getting desperate for a solution so I got one to try. It came in a cheap box but the product looks well made. It connected via Bluetooth and I downloaded the software. The setup went smoothly. At first the grip position felt strange but I got used to it in a couple days. Amazingly my arm felt more relaxed almost immediately. It has only been a week but the tension is mostly gone and I continue to feel better. I even like the styling now. I'm so glad I got this thing!

Although I would say it is comfortable, although takes some getting used to, there are a couple of issues that make this mouse almost unusable.

    1. It has bluetooth connection issues. Basically if you leave it on all the time as I always did with my Magic Mouse it goes to sleep. If you then try to wake it (by clicking on its buttons), it sometimes wakes and frequently doesn't. Turning it off and then is only sometimes solves this problem.

    2. Randomly it will start "stuttering" across my second monitor (the main one) and again I need to turn it off and on again.

Due to these issues I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.

I've worked in an office at a desk on the computer for 15 years and I wish I had
    been using this all along!

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this mouse because it is easy to use, super comfortable and
has a lot of features that other input devices don't.

  • Scroll wheel problems, connectivity problems, uses AA batteries

BUT the scroll wheel is very skippy, sometimes it goes up instead of down or down instead of up, so scrolling through a long page is frustrating, to the point where I sometimes just mouse over to the page's draggable scroll bar and just drag my way through the page. Too bad. Scroll wheels are an incredible time saver when they work properly.

There is also an occasional problem where for no apparent reason the pointer just starts to skip around wildly when in use, and the only way to get the mouse back in use is to shut down bluetooth and restart it, a frustrating interruption to your workflow.

Also, while the mouse disconnects itself from Bluetooth after several minutes of no use (which can be annoying in itself), it does not seem to "sleep" itself, and therefore continues spending battery power overnight, over the weekend, etc. This is not a rechargeable mouse, so keep a hefty supply of AA batteries around. Good for my arm, lousy for the planet. Too bad.

I bought this because my right hand has developed RSI. I do a lot of work in CS 6 and LR 5, the latter is particularly unforgiving I bought this because my right hand has developed RSI. I do a lot of work in CS 6 and LR 5, the latter is particularly unforgiving about a misplaced cursor which can totally change the application's appearance on the monitor.

First, my vertical mouse seems to allow me to work longer without pain but at some cost. I lose the bluetooth capability randomly, this can be cured by flipping the switch on the bottom to red to unpair and then repairing. Control over the cursor is not precise enough for me, so I turn the vm off and use the magic mouse when in Lightroom. Perhaps my skill level will increase with the vm, but for now I need to protect my sanity.

After years of Bluetooth and wireless mouses, this one feels like a step backward. I'm sorry, I really wanted to love this mouse. After years of Bluetooth and wireless mouses, this one feels like a step backward. I'm sorry, I really wanted to love this mouse.

    Pros:
The shape is fantastic and the reason why I got it in the first place. I spend hours on the computer, my hand and arm used to hurt, now they don't - at all. This at first was simply awesome to not be in pain anymore, so it's actually depressing and almost maddening to deal with...
    Cons:
Constant connection drop with Bluetooth. But if that's not annoying enough, your cursor goes skittish twice as much as that. Did I mention it eats batteries like a fat man eats cupcakes? Yea, every day you'll be changing your batteries. When it is working well, the tracking speed never quite feels right on no matter how you adjust it, unless the batteries are brand new. The build quality is WAY WAY off for how much it costs. Cheap button feel, cheap plastic material and cheap overall feel of how it's built. Last, not important but maybe a little telling of how they seemed to skimp all the way around, the icons for the app that comes with it to manage the multiple buttons doesn't display correctly in your app folder.

Wanted to love it because of the shape and absolute cure from pain for people who sit on their computer for hours - but way off from the $100.oo mark.
