Best case ever!
After owning many bulky Otterbox brand cases, I was looking for something that would survive drops, look cool, and not take up muc After owning many bulky Otterbox brand cases, I was looking for something that would survive drops, look cool, and not take up much space. This case is it! If you check out the website on D30 and Tech21's research that goes behind these cases, you will understand why they work. I can actually feel at peace in dropping my iPhone 5 because it just bounces and lands gently without any damage! I got the blue color and it is slim, attractive, and gets lots of attention. You cannot go wrong with this case. I do recommend purchasing a Zagg brand case-friendly screen protector because its hard to use normal cut protectors with this case as they will bubble up when the material of the case flexes. …

Makes the Case

I had a clear one, which I loved till it yellowed and I couldn't stand to look at it anymore. I'll keep it as a backup though, since it saved my phone from a drop on a concrete floor more than once! That's the beauty of these cases: they look cool, make your phone easier to hold (bare aluminum is slippery!) and actually bounce when you drop them on hard surfaces. This case is a very good investment. Also, the blue color, aside from being pretty and cool looking, has an improved design over the clear and smoke color Tech21 cases. There are individual cutouts for the speaker/headphone jack, lightning connector, and second speaker. That's an improvement over the slightly flimsy clear version.

The case looks very good. I have gotten many complements about it. It is not too slippery and feels good in the hand.
The one bad The case looks very good. I have gotten many complements about it. It is not too slippery and feels good in the hand.
The one bad thing about the case is the fit. The one I have is very loose in the upper right hand corner. It will pull off of that corner when taking my iPhone 5 out of my pocket. This in turn results in the top of the case coming loose.
Unsure if I got a bad case that did not cool correctly after it was molded, but cannot risk my iPhone 5 coming out of the case.
I will be returning the case. …

I thought it would be flimsy, but this case is great and has some great protection all the way around the sides. It also slides in and out of my purse pocket easily. My Ballistic case arrived and I still haven't used it, I like this one so much. The color is pretty and you can see the Apple logo with it on. Mine fits great (and I paid full price at the Apple Store)--I have heard that there are lots of low priced knock off cases out there....maybe that is why one reviewer had trouble with the fit. I have dropped my phone a few times onto a ceramic floor and it has stayed protected=) …

Best Case for iPhone 5S

The impact changes the molecular structure of the case, thereby making the force dissipate away from the phone. And afterwards the material returns to its original structure. That's the tech part.
The case fits perfect. The best case I have ever owned! All openings line up exactly with the phone. The only negative is that I find the volume buttons a bit hard to depress. The case is not really mesh, but you can see through the back of the case. The front side has a lip that allows you to place the phone upside down without hitting the screen.
The case is amazing. It is thin and smoothe enough to easily slide into and remove from a jean's pocket. But it offers great hand grip and does not slide through my fingers.
The Tech21 looks absolutely beautiful - I have the blue which goes well with my slate phone. And the case does not scratch even if I lay it on the back. It still looks brand new. BTW - The rep at the Apple Store highly recommended this case.

Are the portals covered on the Tech21 Impact Mesh Case for iPhone 5?
- Asked by James C from Torrance

Its my understanding the answer to whether there are portal covers on this case is "NO". Despite Its my understanding the answer to whether there are portal covers on this case is "NO". Despite what other responders say about the" right way" being "blowing out" dust, I have learned the hard way, you need a case that is a "YES" to port covers. Ports are deep, cannot be "blown out" and need to be coverable or they get filled with dust and other minescule debris, worse yet with moisture.. I had a Commuter Case on my 4S, and when I upgraded to the 5, I was surprised to see how much minescule "stuff" was collected around the ringer toggle. All the other ports were covered by the case and they were completely clean. If people want to retain a high resale value for their phones, those People really NEED to have port covers to keep junk out of the ports. Case makers might recommend port covers are unnecessary but this is only because their products do not address it and have otherwise failed to accomplish it. My experience is that port covers not only keep out dust, but also keep out moisture. Expensive phones NEED port covers... …
