The white leather stained from wearing them!!

I wore them for 2 hours and when i took them off the leather discolored from the sitting on top of my head and ears!! I tried cleaning them and no luck! I would seriously consider buying only the black leather to avoid discoloration. Apart from that everything else as far as sound quality , comfort, etc puts this product near the top of my quality headphones list and I've tried them all!! I would normally have given this product 5 stars but the discoloration is hideous and makes the product look cheap and of poor quality. …

I have been looking at these headphones for over two years. I first got the Skullcandy Aviators and used those for a few years but I have been looking at these headphones for over two years. I first got the Skullcandy Aviators and used those for a few years but I always wanted these but with a $300 dollar price tag, I couldn't justify it. I saw the white P5s in images of the Amsterdam Apple Store opening and immediately wanted them. When my local store got them in stock, I splurged! It is more off-white than true white and I like that. The sound quality is great but I know with time, they will get better. Every genre I have tried so far sounds great. From the Tron Soundtrack, to Passion Pit, to Kanye West, to the Killers, to Peter Gabriel, they are the best! There is little to NO plastic! You really get your money's worth out of these! It has been over a week and they haven't gotten dirty either so if you are worried about that sort of thing, there should be no need to worry! …

Great sound. Poor durability

Sound is awesome, as it is the quality of the materials, but i had to fix them 3 times because of the same problem: one of the cups stop working. Needless to say that i´m extremely careful with them (price deserves it). And it´s a no solution flaw. You have to get them replaced. I´d think twice before buying them, it´s a high invest, and if the warranty period is over you have to pay, as B&W ignore you. There are other headphones in the market with similar sound quality and better durability.
I think it´s a design flaw, because i have other B&W products (683 and HTM61) and never had a complaint since i bought them 10 years ago

Top Notch, super comfortable, and great sound
I originally bought the P3, and I really did love them, but they just seemed to be missing *something*. I decided that the extra $ I originally bought the P3, and I really did love them, but they just seemed to be missing *something*. I decided that the extra $100 was worth it, so I swapped for these. I've never been so happy with a decision.
When I first opened the box, the presentation and style of the headphones struck me and actually took my breath away. I've been listening to them for about 6 days now, and they're opening up quite nicely. They bring out things in studio tracks I've never heard before, and with live music, they put you in the middle of the audience. As a musician, and somewhat of an audiophile, I'm very impressed with these.
They are extremely comfortable, and the sheep leather makes them look and feel great. …

These are great, as they eliminate a lot of the overbright, crashing highs in many other brands that can make listening to metal at volume painful. Good detail and separation means double kicks are punchy and riffs crunchy without any greater distortion that that intended by the band and their producer. I'm yet to find a musical style that doesn't sound great on these …

Don't write off noise canceling too quickly if you're a regular air traveller...
Funny, I'm readi Don't write off noise canceling too quickly if you're a regular air traveller...
Funny, I'm reading these reviews of the P5 because I'm looking at getting a pair...however, reading your question about flying - I've done a lot, domestic and international.
Unless you've experienced that moment with a pair of Bose QC15 when you have them on, hear the roar of the engines underneath, then "click" and it all goes away. I can't tell you whether they are as good pure sound wise as the P5s and you may be a Bose disliker on principle, but they sound is very good indeed and the ability to knock out all that cabin noise is worth every penny. They are also extremely comfortable and I often sleep on overnight flights in them, with no music, just the cord unplugged and the noise canceling on - for flying it is a first class experience. My only comparisons between the two have been in Apple retail stores and frankly I don't think there's a big sonic difference between the two. (I say this as the owner of a pair of B&W speakers which I love...).
If I can I tend to use them with a Total Bithead portable headphone amp and the pure sound of the vocals on e.g my Celtic Woman album is quite incredible - clean, involving, not a hint of harshness.
I'm looking at the P5s because I want a good quality (incredibly well built the P5s appear to be) headphone for use in a studio setting. Drums and noise canceling doesn't work and you can't turn off the noise canceling in the Bose and still have them work.
Just something to bear in mind... …

You probably need to investigate an external desktop amplifier that you put between the ipad and your headphones. For example, check out the Fiio range of amplifers. They have a range of desktop and portable amplifiers that should do the job. Warning! Check the connections as I understand the ipad has a different connection than the ipod. The Fiio range normally connect using USB ports, although I connect a Fiio amp to my ipod using the standard ipod connector port (its a connector also sold by Fiio). With the P3's this set-up gives excellent sound quality. …
