This is a very lightweight battery which I now carry everywhere with me.
This has given me the freedom to charge my iPhone while moving around in my bag.
It clips on to the iPhone with ease even when I have my cover on my iPhone.
It also came with a plastic cover for the top which also acts as a stand for to charge on your desktp.

This is undoubtedly a life-saving bit of kit for iPhone 3G users ! I would rather have an iPhone that is much better on its battery usage but, as I don't, this battery extender/charger is a welcome boon. If you are serious about using your 3G to its full potential you will definitely need this, easy to use, excellent little gismo (or its bigger brother !). It would have been five stars but for the price I personally think it should come with a mains charger too !

    Design Plonkers

This is another one of those thoughtless designs that takes the technology consuming public for idiots. As additional battery power to keep you entertained with whatever your iPod has to offer, did any of those idiots from Kensington care to consider that you need headphones while on the go, and if it is the iPod Touch that you have this is next to useless. The headphone jack is blocked by this idiotic design. Ah, you might say, "but other iPods don't have the jack at the bottom by the dock connector." In which case why advertise it connected to the iPod Touch? It is about time we the consuming public held these money guzzling companies to account by helping others to avoid the trap of buying their trash until they put some thought into their products and stop treating us like idiots!

I wrote a bad review for this product, this was based on a faulty batterypack.

I now have received a pack that is working and its great:)

Nice to have when you are away from powersources for longer times.

Great back up solution for iPhone

Unfortunatly I am never near a power source for my iPhone when I need the additional power.

I use bluetooth quite a lot and this little battery is a great bolt on power unit for my iPhone while out on my bike allowing the iPhone to charge when the battery level is low.

Charging the battery through USB is great as I can do this easily at work and home.

Does not charge iphone 3GS after iOS4 update

This is a lightweight battery back that you can always carry with you and does not need cables. Used it frequently but it will not charge my iPhone 3GS after the iOS 4.0 update.
I get a message that 'this accessory is not optimized for this iPhone'. Any ideas?

This little beauty is an absolute life saver. I just keep it in a jacket pocket or work bag and it is always there in those oh so unforeseeable emergencies when the iPhone or iPod so inconveniently seems to die!

Oh and RC, it's actually advertised on an iphone - note the 3G symbol and reception in the top left corner

A nice compact, lightweight little accessory that's not too much hassle to carry around, and unlike other battery pack products, can actually re-charge your iPod / iPhone's internal battery. The battery pack itself recharges pretty fast, and holds it's charge for a surprising amount of time.

One small caveat is the fact that the dock connector isn't very long, so if you have a Contour protective case (or similar) the connector can't make it all the way in to the dock port on your phone (due to the shape of the contour case at the bottom) so you have to take the phone out of it's case to use the battery pack. A minor niggle that prevents me from giving this 5 stars. Other than that, this has been a god-send to me a couple of times when I've been out on the road.

    Great but not perfect

It does everything its supposed to do very well... small, lightweight, charges quickly and has the capacity to completley recharge my IPOD touch...

The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is because when plugged into the ipod and the mini-usb is connected to my PC there is no data connection - just power.

I used to have a juicepack and that was a nice feature because it means when you travel you can just carry a standard mini-usb cable that I also use for my phone etc. rather than having to remove it and use the dedicated Apple cable.

It might just be mine, but after about 2 weeks, using it about 3 times, the connector that connects it to the iPhone stopped working unless you hold it at an awkward angle. Unfortunate waste of £30

I tried it with my ipod nano and my iphone, it can only charge either for 2 minutes before it turns off.

It seems there is a reason it is so cheap, dont buy this.
