    Not worth the money

    • Written by from Hull

It protects the iPad front and back. In terms of folding over and raising the iPad to a comfortable reading/working position it doesn't work. The three panels don't work in the same way as four panels did. The fact that it is twice the price adds insult to injury quite frankly!

Beautiful case at first, but won't last long

    • Written by from Dublin

I have been using the smart case for a month. Despite what other people may have said, it does securely support the ipad in both typing and upright modes. At first I thought the 3 panel design didn't work properly, but as long as you fold the panels the right way, it works fine. There is a magnetic strip along the edge of the cover that secures the folded cover in position.

This must be the slimmest way of protecting the back and front of the ipad air and it fits snugly and securely into the case, but the edging of the case has already began to crack and I wonder how long it will be before it completely falls apart. The edges of the cover are getting worn and look a bit untidy too.

I have the beige case and it is beginning to look grubby and marked, even though I try to take care of it. It's an attractive case, but I just can't see it staying that way for long.

I will keep using it until it doesn't work. I would not advise people to buy this, particularly for the price. When my case falls apart completely, I will invest in a Smart Cover and some kind of sleeve to protect the beautiful aluminium back of this ipad air when not in use.

Beautiful looking but some design flaws

    • Written by from ISLEWORTH

This is a great looking case. Looks very professional. Fits the Ipad Air like a glove.
It's a premium priced product due to the leather used.

However, two things make it not worth recommending.

The concertina cover doubles as a stand. but it doesnt fold very well. unfortunately over time i think it will fail.

The concertina cover also marks the screen. The ridges in the case lie on top of the screen and cause marking. So you see two feint lines across the screen at certain angles or when light falls on it. Easily rubbed off with a lint free cloth. But it just shouldn't do this.

A shame as otherwise it looks the business.

    Dreadful colours

    • Written by from Oving

An OK case but doesn't stand up very well and the colour range is awful, so girly!
All ghastly bright childish colours , where is the Navy Blue, rich chocolate brown, maroon etc.
We are not all 12 years old you know Apple.

    Folds up

    • Written by from Islington

Like many of the other reviewers I think Apple MUST update the design of this case it does fold up way too easily. When you update the design I will be handing this back for an exchange.
Its such a nice case nice quality leather perfect fit and nice to hold, why didn't you spot this obvious folding up flaw at the product testing stage?

    Just OK

I got this cover with my iPad. There are much better covers for half the price. It does the job but it's grossly overpriced.

    Poor hinge design

    • Written by from London

Finally there is a leather case designed by Apple. That is great. What's not great is that the designers seemed to have started cutting corners. The hinge is not reinforced in any way and when closing the lid this causes a gap. That makes it unfit for the use with an Apple product which all about perfection. Please address the issue.

    Looks nice but doesn't work

    • Written by from London

We've got the tan colored case which looks nice but is completely useless, as it keeps on collapsing when I try to raise the back to type comfortably, or stand up to watch anything to get the device stand up. Very unstable. The smartcase from the IPAD 1 was much much better (but didn't look as nice)

    Goes down quicker than...

    • Written by from ENFIELD

... a $10 ... iPad case ;). Falls over far too easy. I get that the smaller width means they can't get the 4th fold but thats and issue with that design, so a 'new' design is needed.

    Good quality but design problems

    • Written by from Witham

Pros: Very good quality case with good back scratch protection.

Cons: Fails as a stand as it falls over easily unlike the previous 4 fold version.
It was imposable to plug in even the thinnest of audio cables, including the 'slim plug' type. So I was forced to hack the case with a pair of snips to enlarge the audio hole.

Nice but very soft leather - and falls over too easily

    • Written by from Camberley

Just got this and it is really well made and fits very nicely indeed. Looks great.
    Two problems-
The leather is so silky smooth, that when trying to prop the iPad Air up in "upright" mode, it nearly always just slides down and crashes backwards. A real serious issue!
The other problem is that after 24 hours, the very soft leather front is showing marks, and believe me I have been very gentle with it!
    I'm not happy!
