Looks Good, Feels Good, but issues

    • Written by from Littleborough

The case feels pretty good to hold. To be honest, it doesn't really feel like leather because it's hard, but it's nice to the touch.

It fits really well - no issue of it falling off - but that's also a downside. The case is extremely tight - so much so it's actually very difficult to get off. This becomes a problem when you need to take the case off to fit the phone on a dock, or charge it using the 30-pin to Lightning Adaptor.

The lock button is also very difficult to press - almost as though no-one at Apple actually tested the case. When you do manage to press it, there's almost no feedback.

It also smells pretty foul when new - luckily that will wear off.

    Thing of beauty

    • Written by from Newton aycliffe

Ok first off this is not the most protective case you can buy but this should be obvious.
What it is though is a very well made luxury case designed to keep your phone being marked by normal use and give light to medium protection in falls. As for screen protection the case does have a slight lip which will help a little in a fall or if you place your phone screen down. Theres a rather good demo of this case on a YouTube vid where the phone case protects the 5s up to a drop of 10 feet.

I've had this case 2 months now and I use my phone a lot. It still looks almost new. I think this is down to it being the black case which doesn't discolour and the fact I treated it with a leather protection product (leder gris) and a final wipe with renapur. This is also what I do with my boots, shoes and leather jacket and it seems like a great combo for protecting leather. However I do think apple should of treated this leather during manufacture as it seems very natural and untreated on arrival.

4 stars because it's very difficult to get the case off and I had to chose black really to make sure of colour durability.

    Great but be warned...

    • Written by from Worcester

Its right what most people say on here.

I brought myself the black case for my iphone5. Its amazing. The fit, the build quality, the way it feels in the hand, how it keeps the iPhone feeling slim. Not cheap no but certainly worth the money. Not disappointed at all but..... (there is alway a but!)

I brought the same case but in Beige for the other half. Sadly the colours do not last well and very disappointed with this purchase. Its only been used for 6 weeks and looks awful! Stay away from the coloured cases...

    Great Case Minor Drawback

    • Written by from Ilford

In terms of the fit, it's snug and feels really good in the hand so you really can't go wrong.

Although there's a problem with the case that majority of the cases have. It traps dirt on the screen and in between case and the phone. Over time it looks dirty and you have to take it off and clean it but inevitably it will happen again.

Without a case dust tends to slide right off.

Nice case, but a couple of bad points

    • Written by from Warrington

Just bought this case today. It feels good, nicely lined with microfiber. The only bad points are that it's a tad expensive, and the lock button is difficult to press.

    Impressive

    • Written by from Kolding

Bought the brown one and yes, it only takes a few days to see it's used. However over time it turns into patina like a leather jacket or so. So Day 1 it has this pristine look, after a while more rugged. Guess it's just the nature of leather.
I'm impressed by the quality though. I often take it off to put the phone in desk and car chargers so my cover had been on and off I guess hundreds of times already. Still it snaps nicely back on every time.
The fit is absolutely perfect and all buttons are easily accessible. What other people say on the holes for charger and headphones being too small I don't recognise at all. I've used different chargers, Apple and not, and different headphones and never worried about this. Plenty of room
I'll get another if this one ever wears out.

    leather iphone5s case

    • Written by from Galway

I bought this cover at the same time as buying the phone. The phone went into it straight away and has only ever been removed to change the sim card and to clean the exposed areas at the phone jack, charging port and the mute button (which is like 3 or 4 times).
I really like this cover, the natural material feels great to hold and it durable, I've had it for 4 months so far and not a scratch or scuff to be seen. It does protect the phone very well (maybe not from an impact), fits well, in my opinion it’s much better than any plastic or silicone cover. It also isn’t that thick and therefore doesn’t bulk out the phone size.
So the only negative point I have to make is that the holes for the headphone socket and charging ports have relatively thin pieces of material on the top edge. I returned the first cover immediately to the shop, (within a week) because I noticed the thin sections of material over the headphone port had become stretched and a visible gap could be seen on the cut edge of the hole. I returned the first cover because I was afraid that it was a fault and would fully break within a couple of weeks. A certain amount of stretching is unavoidable because the cover does need to stretch when the phone is put in and out.
The key point here is, don’t pop the phone in and out of the cover unnecessarily. I’ve had the current cover for 4 months now and there is no problem with the cover like the first time around but I think it could happen again because of the design. If the thin pieces of material stretch too far or break then the cover would be useless as it would not hold the phone tight and it would slip out all on its own.

    It does the job

    • Written by from Kidlington

I bought this item in an Apple Store back in January 2014, it's now November 2014 and I have always kept the cover on my iPhone 5s. It does the job, successfully protected my phone two or three times when I dropped it accidentally. I was worried when I first bought it that the cover would show signs of wear or dirt too quickly, however I bought the colour black and after 8 months of using it I am still happy with the product. No issues with the power cable but I haven't used headphones so I'm unable to comment on that.
Probably slightly overpriced for what it is.

Great Case (most of the time)

    • Written by from Dublin

I've had this case for my iPhone 5 for over half a year now and it is really durable as well as stylish, fitting the phone perfectly. The only issue is when using headphones with a wide surrounding as the hole in the case is quite small and similarly for 30pin to lightning adapters, you have to remove the case to use them, though these occasions are rare so it is excellent overall..

    Great case

    • Written by from Keighley

A little pricy but I love it, a good leather feel and look great. However after a while it gets dirty and starts to become dull. Micro fibre lining prevents scratches on the back and the raised edges prevents easy scratches on the front. Headphone hole can be awkward for jacks with cables at right angels, fine for the apple ones. Couple drawbacks but all in all a brilliant case

    Brilliant!!

    • Written by from Grantham

I bought this case and put it on my phone. I then discovered that my existing adaptor (the cheaper one) would not fit in the space at the bottom for the lighting adaptor. I then had to buy a more expensive adaptor to allow my dock to charge my iPhone. This case is brilliant and I recommend it to anyone who wants to protect their iPhone all round but be warned that you could spend nearly £70 on it!! I read the reviews that said it discoloured after a few days but mine hasn't yet, any case will damage as you use it. Overall I think the case is great but be warned at the price!!

    Trust worthy case

    • Written by from Blackburn

The reviews on this case made me buy the black case over the blue and I'm glad I did, it looks the same as when I bought it and it fits perfectly, I didn't want to trust any other brand of case and now I'm glad I didn't it's so light yet protective and I would recommend it to anyone with the 5s although I do think it's over priced

    Great fitting case

This case fits very snug on my iPhone 5s and offers great protection, however I bought the yellow one which looks more green and has become soiled very quickly and now looks horrible, I wish that I had have got the black one!

    Nice but expensive

This is by far the best iPhone case I have had. It is a very snug fit and is a quality product. It's only downside is the price.

More practical than the lighter colours

    • Written by from Brough

I originally bought the red version, but after two weeks it started looking really grubby - a failing that seems to be consistent with a lot of reviews I've read.

I took it back and swapped to black and am much happier with this one. As with the red one, the construction is fantastic and compliments the phone perfectly. Shame about the price, but there ya' go!
