    Poor

    • Written by from Manchester

Improvement on the last but still not good enough, I usually use my Sennheiser CX300II headphones and they've finally kicked it, back to using the apple ones temporarily and the sound is shocking. Im no audio expert but theres a clear difference in the sound quality, and for the cost of these you could get a decent pair. When you spend £500 on a phone you would think they could chuck in a lasting charger and decent set of headphones haha! Taking liberties apple, sort it ;)

    Brilliant sound for the price

    • Written by from London

I have not had another pair of headphones that sounded as good as these at this price. They are much better than the old Apple earbuds; good range, proper bass without being too heavy.

I was reminded today how handy the remote control is as well, because I had to use some other headphones without one today, and found myself constantly reaching for the remote that wasn't there. I had to use others because I was waiting for the EarPods to dry out after sending them through the washing machine; they still work fine, as others said!

I'm not sure why others have had problems with them breaking; I'd call myself a medium heavy user and mine are fine after nearly a year

    These earpods are terrible

    • Written by from Leicester

I got these with my iphone. They barely do the job. They hurt my ears when I wear them. The sound quality is rubbish. They are the quietest headphones I have ever used. There are a lot more cheaper and better products out there. This is the most disappointing apple product I have ever owned.

    Generally not bad.

    • Written by from Peterborough

I bought these a few months ago for occasional use (I use my Bose when at home). The sound quality is perfectly good for everyday listening (arguably on par with my Bose) and they stay in my ears, not bad as my ears are a funny shape and I usually use over ears headphones. They do ache after a bit but most in ears do.

I think £15 would be a more realistic price though as they are given away with other devices.

    GREAT ! But...

    • Written by from Martofte

I am not one of those who used to listen to music all the time before, so I don't know how other products do.

But I was amazed about the sound quality in these (who came with my new iPhone 5S). I listen to music a lot more now than I did before. With the 2 speakers + a bas in each ear the sound quality is much better than any other ear pods I've ever had. There is also a little hole to let noise from your surroundings into your ear so you still have an idea about what is going on around you (I assume that is the purpose for these).

The only thing is that it can be rely difficult detach them from the phone because it is so slippery. I think that is why some of them break relatively quick.

People are expecting the best of the best from Apple, so only 3 stars from me. And YES! They are great, but Apple can do better.

    Break after 3 months

    • Written by from London

I have had my iphone for 17 months and in that time have had my earpods replaced 3 times - luckily for free under warranty. Every single time they have broken so I no longer hear music or sound out of the right hand ear. As I'm now out of warranty I'm going to have to buy something else. Very annoying.

    simply amazing value

    • Written by from Herføgle

amazing value, i've had my current pair for about 2 years now, and they have sadly just about given up on me. i actually have the jaybird bluebuds x, but these are much better for school/work as you can actually hear other people calling your name etcetera. for what it's worth, the sound is actually really nice for the value.

    Fantastic design and stunning sound!

    • Written by from Oxton

Bought these today to use with my 4S and iPad 4 after my original iPhone headphones packed it in after 2 years loyal service. Had Spotify on the go for the last few hours and it's fair to say that these earphones does Bohemian Rhapsody the justice it deserves- the sound quality is like nothing I have experienced from anything less than the very top-end headphones that you get in plush recording studios. The phones sit in your ear so comfortably that you are not conscious at all of their presence. They do really well at blocking out background noise and delivering some superb quality sounds into your ear- the bass end is truly astonishing; it penetrates right into the ear and immerses you in the song... Or not just songs! I've just finished watching Les Miserables on my iPad and even on lowish levels the phones give that 'cinema rumble' for the bass end sounds- it certainly made Les Mis sound even more spectacular than I've heard it before. A steal for £25!

these headphones perform beyond the expectations, they have fantastic sound quality and the treble and bass comes through perfectly, they are also quiet from the outside, truly brilliant if listening to loud music on public transport or in the car

Only works in the left ear?

    • Written by from Biggin Hill

Comfortable fit but after about 6 and a half months use, the right hand earphone's volume dropped so low that you only hear it from the left. Not good enough to be frank, another badly designed apple product.

    Great Product, comfortable fit,

    • Written by from Forest Town

i brought these earphones when they come out for my iPhone 4, because the standard earphones kept falling out of my ears. and now i use them with my iPhone 5S. these headphones are so comfortable for me that after about 5/10 minutes of wearing them. i can no longer feel them in my ears. the sound quality is also very good. I have a lot of different styles of music and they all play beautifully on these headphones. the only issue i have with these are that they near enough seal my ears so when i speak to someones it sounds like I'm talking with my fingers in my ears which does take some getting used to. But 5 stars all the same!

    Terribly Shaped - Very Painful

    • Written by from Bakewell

Having been a loyal Apple user for many years I was excited to use the new headphones being introduced. However they are awful, really not made for people with apparently small ears? (Never had an issue before).
After wearing them for 5 minutes or 50 the pain is unbearable, really aching after use.
Very disappointed compared to the previous design.

    Got news for you apple...

    • Written by from Birmingham

...people have different sized ears! Sending these out with the iPhone is a waste of resources as I'm betting more people won't be able to use them than will. I guess it's a ploy to get folks to upgrade to the in-ear version. Well...there's news for you there as well. At £65, they're vastly overpriced and have reviewed very badly in terms of sound quality. £20.00 will buy you some perfectly good quality in-ear phones in the UK.

A 100% Improvement On The Last Gen

    • Written by from Lydney

Now im no sound expert, but comparing these to my previous ones, they are so much better. I was using the Apple Earphones which come with the iPhone 4S, And they are useless, They wont even stay in while walking, there uncomfortable, and people around you can hear the sound as well as you. These however, Stay in while walking, ARE comfortable, If you have the volume on full with the earpods, people can still hear, but you dont need them on full as they are quite load. Basically if your sick of the last-gen ones, these are a must-have!

    Amazing

    • Written by from Mexborough

I have read some of the other reviews and I have to say, I was really confused. Some people must have really messed up ears because these stay in my ears perfect and i can barley notice they're there. Also mine did break after 5 months but I went in and got them swapped staright away. Great job Apple
