Allows my iPhone 5 to work with my Logitech MM50 speakers and also - most importantly my Dension ICE Lite kit in my car.

Sound transfers via the lightning connector and seems very good quality. I have tried cheaper alternatives from Ebay, but none seem to allow the sound out via the connector (they charge and no sound) so Apple Lightning to 30 pin is the only way.

I think they should have included at least one with the iPhone to help existing (LOYAL) users!! However, Apple are Apple and realise we will buy the stuff anyway I guess.

Enables me use use my iphone 5 with my BeoSound 8!

This is great for helping me dock my iPhone 5 to my docks.

I am using it in my 2006 BMW with an OEM ipod adapter, not only it work fine, but it seems to work better than a using the 30-pin connector on previous iPhone.

I have noticed that this device has some sort of memory build in to it, when I disconnect the IPhone when I leave my car and come back to it later the last played track continues playing that track rather than starting from the first song on the device.

Also when the IPhone is connected it start playing straight away, it doesn't go through the initialisation process which it used to do (about 30s to a minute depending on the number of songs) which was the case when I was using a 30 pin device.

Couldn't be more happy with it as it fixed the flaws I had been dealing with in previous devices.

I got this from the Apple store on Oxford as I previously had an iPod and I wanted to be able to use my iPhone 5 to connect using my iTrip, my Bose system and to charge it with my existing car charger - and it does all of the above!!!! Most thrilled I can still use my Bose docking station with my iPhone 5 and the staff at the store were really helpful - it's secure, doesn't wobble and I am very happy. I am also able to use it with the phone still in its protective case

I bought the Lighting to 30 pin Adapter from my Apple Store after buying 2 other connectors via Amazon. Although both of the Amazon supplied connectors support battery charging neither would enable me to connect to to the 30 pin connector and play audio into the car system. The Apple connector worked first time.

So although the other connectors were individually cheaper I paid more in total than the one Apple connector. My guess is that the Apple connector contains the necessary circuitry whereas the cheaper versions do not. Whatever the reason I wish that I had bought the Apple connector first. It does what it says it does.

Very neat converter that contains a lot more than people think, hence the moans about poor value.
This device includes all the electronics to work out what the original 30 pin plug is doing and pass the correct commands up through the new 8 pin plug regardless of which way round it is plugged in.
There are some compatibility problems with older 30 pin products apparently, but I have not experienced this yet.
Overall it works very well.

Got one at the Apple store in the Westfield Centre in Stratford.

I wanted one of these for my radio/alarm at home and the cable version for use in the car.

No cables in the store, so I bought the one adapter and tried it in the car, a Hyundai i20 with iPod controls, which worked with the iPhone 4s.

All the controls work as expected - hooray. It also works with the Philips DC390 Dual Dock Clock Radio I got a while ago.
