    Lasted 2 months before splitting

    The quality of these cables is shocking. Mine lasted just over 2 months before splitting. £25 down the drain. Come on Apple - your stuff is so good, why let yourself down with lousy cables? Can't find any way to claim a refund but really would like one.

    Bad quality

    I don't know how apple makes these chargers, I don't care if the style doesn't match, you can still make white cables that lost longer, every few months I need a new cable, I've had my iphone for nearly a year and I've already bought 4 cables, WHY!! you guys need to chill or just give us free chargers if you aren't planning on improving the cables you already make.
    Very disappointed apple, I can't believe that a company like you make these bad quality cables, step up your game man!!

    What's the point in a having a brand new iPad and you can' t connect it to your camera with this lead because the camera uses too much power!!! This will be returned way too expensive and does not do the job it should.....

    Can I give it a 0 stars? About to purchase my 6th charger!!! Total cost of £150. Will never purchase another apple product again,over priced and TERRIBLE quality. Appalling. Would never have purchased this iPod if I would have known it was such a con.

    Poor Quality

    Poor quality/high price!
    Cable goes at the point of connection to lightning connecter.
    Sleeve comes out exposing the wires that can sometimes give a shock.
    Fed up of replacing them.
    Come on Apple - premium products - rubbish overpriced connectors!!

    The cable is already splitting at the lightning connecting end after only a few months. Very, very poor quality. And a very high price. Expected much better, that's why I bought Apple, and at the price it should be a top quality, reliable cable. Unfortunately it's not. Not recommended at all.

    Great Profit Centre For Apple

    As most reviewers state the cable doesn't last any longer than a few months before it starts splitting at the Lightning conductor end which means you constantly have to replace them. Great business for Apple at £25 a pop not so great for Apple's loyal customers we have 5 Apple devises that need this type of cable so you can do the Math. Apple this product needs improving full stop.

    I love my iPhone and stuff but these chargers are awful I'vejust bought my 15th charger today! I've had my phone for about 10 years!!
    Apple needs to redesign the charger with what they used with the older chargers asI still have the iPod touch 4Gen and the charger it came with and it still works to this day and I had the iPod the first day it came out!!

    Quite unlike Apple really, but mine broke within 6 monnths - frayed around the join between the cable and the lightning connector. Very disappointing.

    I've had nearly ten chargers from apple in the space of a year. I don't appreciate paying 25 pound for these cables which I think is an absolute joke. Not good ! Love my iphone but the chargers are just shameful.

    Heart breaking cables!

    By the time I finish buying cables over the life of this iPhone I would have spent more than the value of the phone! When is apple going to do something about it? How can you put out a new phone with the same faulty cable after your customers have been complaining forever? So my best option is to buy a new make for which I have to remove my phone case to use?
    No matter how cool your phone is its pointless without charge; so I may as well switch brands because I would end up spending the same amount for this frustration in the end...I have been very patient but customer loyalty dwindles with this nonsense kmt!

    Totally let down

    I bought a 16GB iPad Air on December 15th 2013 presuming that I was buying a quality product - however, I have been badly let down. I am having to buy a 3rd charging cable in that time. I have been very careful with my iPad as it helps me to keep in contact with friends and family when I am not able to get out and about, as I am a disabled pensioner.
    Obviously, my next smartphone, tablet and lap-top will not be Apple.

    The worst piece of accessory I have ever seen in my 40+ years...

    I've used computers and mobile phones for a great many years, if I could give this cable a hefty minus rating I would, I have never ever seen something of such appallingly poor quality, not even in cheap computer accessories I bought in Asia...
    It is simply bad bad bad.
    Shame on you Apple for peddling such infoerior products. And to those who (probaby from Apple's staff...) say oh it's just a question of how careful you are, it's not. I've just had it by my desk in the office and it breaks cause it's a poorly designed cheap piece of (bad language goes here)...

    The worst apple product I have owned, I love apple products but this charger has to be the worst product I have ever come across for a charger, even BlackBerry were better for chargers, I have had the charger since I got my iPhone 5c in May 2014 and the wire has melted partly and then the charger stopped working completely this morning straight after use, not happy, product needs to be stronger!!!

    Very poor. You would guess they would put a bit more plastic for what they charge. Already changed 5-6. One of them even melted and they didn't want to change it as they thought I've twisted it intentionally.

    Due to bad connections I've been through about 4 of these, in less that 12 months. I don't see the point of paying £25 for a cable, if its going to fail, so I'll try a cheaper alternative.

    I have an iPhone 5 and iPad Air and am now on charger #7. After all of the negative reviews (I think there are only about 15 over 2 stars), I am so surprised that Apple do nothing about their chargers.

    With other brands, Samsung especially, upping their game and snapping up Apple's customers, you'd think that they would want to improve the quality and retain customers. Apple are so expensive anyway, by the time you've bought 3 extra chargers (per product), per year, you kind of lose faith in the brand.

    Apple, Don't get me wrong, I genuinely love your products and consider myself a loyal customer however I have to ask, what are you playing at with the lightning cable?
    Having within my family; 2 iPhone 5's and an iPad mini, I can safely say that the lightning cable is by far and away the worst product you have ever made. I'm not sure if it's the cable or the connector on the devices but I have to tell you that if you want to keep my custom in the future then something needs to change. After a few months use and many (to the tune of 6-7 genuine Apple cables!!) they all go the same way, I end up having to lick the cable, blow saliva into the connector and prop up the device in 'just the right position' to get it to start charging a device and then, if it's moved slightly, it starts trying to tell me this accessory may not be compatible...well no s*** it isn't compatible, the problem is it's your own product, supposedly designed to work with your products? I hope you see my frustration and where I am going with this!
    I do not expect to have to go through this spit fest/ balancing act every time I use your products...I expect them to just work as you usually make happen so well, hence why this comes as such a disappointment.
    Apple, please take notice of your customers, look at all the 1 star reviews for this product and re-evaluate your use of this inferior product on future devices. You generally make excellent products so please do not let yourself down on this small hurdle. I really want to stay with you for future devices but fear if you continue with this type of connection then I will be forced to look at other tablets and phone manufactures in the future.

    There has to be better

    The cable lasted less than a year. It's an insult to the consumer to provide a vital accessory of such poor quality and then charge so much for a replacement. I am not sure my next tablet will be an iPad.
