This product is utterly useless. The last one I bought (number four in three months) lasted a fortnight. The guy in the shop even said to handle it carefully because they break easily. So I did handle it carefully. And it still broke. Total rip off.

Now on my 5th OFFICIAL usb for the iPhone5, totalling £75.00. Apple should of learnt from the iPhone4/4s Charger that they need to be made of a higher quality and much thicker to avoid breakages.

Everyone seems to be having the same problem with the charger, I know I have. I am now on my second charger and I am hoping it doesn't happen again because that's just ridiculous. We shouldn't have to keep replacing them, the one that comes with the phone should work until we decide to change phones

Firstly, cable is too short - 1m sounds like a decent length but when plugged into wall socket not good enough.

Had cable about 6 months, no problems until last couple of weeks. Only charged when cable was at a certain angle, then barely charging at all. Now, I've open the white outer cable myself and find that one of the cables inside has snapped meaning I can no longer charger nor sync my iPhone 5... and we all know how often the 5s need charging!

Unlike other reviewers who have reported issues, our experience is completely different. My wife and I have been using these cables since the iPhone 5 came out. We have bought 2 extras and we use them heavily, as we travel a great deal. All cables are in excellent condition and we have no issues to report. They seem to be lasting much better than the old 30 pin connector cables (we went through quite a few of those!).

Can't believe apple are producing a product like this. Breaks after a couple of uses. Got my iphone 5 last November and had 5 chargers since. Awful.

Such an awful cable, my first cable broke after 2 months, the end of the cable (at the lightning end) srunched up and split and then stopped working. Second cable short-circuited in the phone last week destroying the phone and melting the cable as well as tripping out the whole house!
On 3rd cable after 5 months

I wish I had got an Ipad3 instead of an ipad 4 for my son. it's slower and been through 2 cables so far in less than 7 months. Apple was supposed to be a reliable product. well, it aint looking that way based on my recent experience and the other comments on this site!!! maybe I should have got him a samsung tablet instead. By the way I owuld have rated this product at 0 stars if that option was available!

Constantly breaking just before solid plastic bit (inside break such as loose wire). At £15 it costs a fortune for the cable and I'm not the only one I know who has an iPad/iPhone 5 where their cables are coming loose inside. Terribly made.

I bought the iPhone 5 about a week after it came out. I've since used this lead to charge my phone since that time, every night (obviously) and didn't really have any problems with it until recently - and judging by other people's reviews I'm certainly one of the lucky ones to have it last this long!

I started noticing a crumple in the lead at the top where the lightning connector is, and figured maybe I was holding my phone in an odd way or was leaving it in positions that might strain the cable somehow. From then I've been really careful not to leave it at an odd angle or anything, and it's got even worse. It went from only being a mild nuisance to actually being broken. Nothing I do will get my phone to charge, and no one I know has an iPhone 5 or anything that requires this lead. I don't live near an actual Apple store (living in York currently for university), so no doubt will have to pay an extortionate price for one tomorrow before I have a completely dead phone.

Needless to say I am incredibly dissatisfied with this product. My last phone was a Blackberry, now while that was an utter rubbish phone at least the charger lasted 2 years rather than just about 5 months.

5 months after buying my iphone 5 I am now having to buy another cable as the original has stopped working. Compare this to my old 30 pin cables which have all lasted 2 years+

Bought an iPad mini last christmas and used the supplied charger up until it broke a few weeks ago. Compared to the older model of charger compatible with the last generation of apple products (that lasted ages, I only had to replace my iPod charger once in two years) this is pretty terrible and the £15 price tag really is unjustifiable for something so poorly designed.

In short, make a charger that lasts for more than a couple of months and won't break through normal usage (especially if you are going to charge £15 for it).

Its alright but when i want to use my iPad the charger always falls out. It chargers perfectly fine and I've had it for over 5 months and no problems. It would be fine if it was longer maybe 2m or 3m.
