Doesn't do what is says on the tin

    • Written by from Petersfield

Don't waste your money on this connector kit as it doesn't operate as you would expect. Total waste of money, so much so that I use a Samsung Tab now and have given the iPad to my wife, who leaves all the techie stuff to me. Apple, you're a BIG disappointment!

    A waste of money

    • Written by from Colwyn Bay

The adapter will download raw files from my Nikon with no problem. I can view the pictures on the ipad with no problems.

However the problems arise when transferring the photographs to a PC for editing. They will only transfer as small TIFF files using a third party program. OK only for viewing photographs on the ipad after taking, but of no use to serious photographers.

A waste of time and money.

Importing video from Sony RX100 to iPad 4

    • Written by from Midhurst

Have tried Apple's SD Card Reader and USB Camera Adaptor. Receive error messages using both with no luck at all in terms of importing video to my iPad. Apple seem bereft of advice to customers and I'm left wondering why spend all that money on an iPad when you can't use it to import video for uploading to sites like YouTube? It would be funny if it wasn't so frustrating. Does anyone have an answer?

    Totally Useless

    • Written by from Snodland

I have just tried to transfer my photos from my Samsung Camera to my IPad using the camera connection kit and recd a message advising that the accessory is not supported and that my camera uses too much power, thus I cannot transfer my photographs. What a total waste of money and even more disappointingly that I cannot save my photos to my IPad. Total disregard from Apple to their customers, totally outrageous, but yet they get away with it. How can I rate one star for an unusable product, it should be rated zero stars.

    Apple has lost the plot

    • Written by from Dullstroom

I'm becomnig increasingly more frustrated with Apple as they don't consider their customers' needs. I've been using the camera kit for 2 years to backup my Canon EOS 7d RAW files. After the software upgrade the iPad will not copy the files from the camera. It displays the thumbnails but when I select Import All it appears to load but a red warning icon is displayed on each image, with no way to read the warning, yet the file does not download. Very annoying.

Was perfect, now a waste of money

    • Written by from bedford

I pretty much got my iPad for the ability to import images and video from my cameras using the camera connection kit whilst on the go. Since updating the software (thanks Apple), it now no longer works despite trying all the so called fixes available, and pretty much a blanket silence from Apple themselves on the matter, even though lots of people are reporting the issue.

Come on Apple sort this out please. I've been a devoted Apple consumer since the mid 90's, but you are about to lose my custom.

When I plug this in to my iPad it says 'This accessory is not supported by iPad.' Incredibly frustrating since it is sold as an iPad accessory.

    Minimal functionality.

    • Written by from Felixstowe

OK - you can load pics from SD cards from (certain) cameras. End of story. Thought I would be able to use it to import pics from my PC, via the SD card. No way. Appears not to read the photo files direct, but only via the index used by a camera. Similatly, won't read a USB stick with pics on it. And the SD card mounted in a USB card carrier yields "too much power". WHY do Apple take so much trouble to make life difficult?

    Dont even think about buying....

    • Written by from Nr Retford

What an utter waste of money!

My Pro SLR doesnt use SD cards. Ok fair enough, that was obvious, but no USB reader, even independantly powered ones read in the device. So it cannot be used. What good is that? just comes up with a message saying the device uses too much power. What?

Add to that the fact that the USB reader is only for photographic files and nothing else and Apple have just boosted their profit level again.

I am a big Apple user, but am becoming disillusioned with their products and attitude.

One star is too great a credit for this derisory product.

    No longer works

    • Written by from Deptford

I used this to copy photos from my iPhone 4 to my iPad 2 while on holiday & it worked great. I've now upgraded to an iPhone 5 & a new iPad (ie 3rd Gen) and all I get is a "accessory not supported" message when I connect it to my iPad.

    *sigh*

    Big Let down

    • Written by from sandy

Got this to go through camera photos while on holiday and sort them on the card , ie delete them from the card , but you have to copy them to the I pad before you can do any thing to them , does not help when you have a 32gb camera card and only a 16 gb iPad with 2gb free space
. I just wish you could view photos from card and delete the dodgy ones with out copying them to the I pad . And a shame you can't copy/ move them back from the iPad to the card :-(

    Connector and Nikon S6300

    • Written by from St Sampson

I bought the camera and connector so that I can review photos on my iPad2 and send some to family and friends while on holiday. Alas the iPad won't download the photos as more power is required. I researched both products thoroughly and found no reference to this problem anywhere. Both products will have to back to Amazon.

    Buyer BEWARE

    • Written by from southend on sea

Naively bought this, thinking it would be compatible with a Nikon S6200.
It is NOT as 'the attached accessory uses too much power'.
The only way round this problem is to take out the SD card & use the 2nd card connector.
This defeats the whole point of buying a CAMERA connector.
    Caveat Emptor indeed :(

    Completely useless

This item works with some iPads and not with others. How can Apple sell such an unpredictable product with no hint at point of sale that it could be £25 wasted on completely useless piece of kit ?

    Does not work

    • Written by from Rudgwick

This adaptor does not work with the iPad 2, all it says is "this connected USB device requires too much power" it doesn't seem that apple support this device anymore on the updated operation platform,

Do not buy this unit if you have the latest operation system software installed as it will not work. What a con.
