My second power cable has now bitten the dust

These seem to die after around 1 year of use

There is a design flaw but nobody at the apple store seems to care

Very Poor but what can we do

After my first charger got snagged between some moving furniture and broken after five years of faultless use I had two third party replacements fail in six months before biting the bullet and forking out for an apple replacement which is still going strong after a year.

I would not hesitate to recommend this charger over the third party knockoffs available elsewhere at half the price or less.

I bought another one of these in store 5 weeks ago, to replace my 18 month old charger, after a service on my laptop confirmed that the charger port wasn't at fault.

So a brand new charger that gives the same failing symptoms of the 18 month old one: Hotter than the sun to touch after charging for 5 minutes and constant readjusting to try and keep the thing connected.

High end pricing for low end, mass produced disappointment.

The second MagSafe defected, worse is I am on road in abroad trip. Thanks Steve Job's great creation of this masterpiece but how come it has such a huge issue ignored? I have to spend my valuable time ought to be taken by works on shopping new MagSafe adapter in Helsinki Friday......

This product needs to be improved. This the 2nd cord to break down in 6 months. The covering around the cord came apart next to the adapter. Please, Apple, try to come up with a more sturdy product!

Unreliable product, an unacceptable fact that i have to replace and pay £50 to £65 every single year to replace the charger when the macbook itself is working fine.
Especially as i never have to carry my charger around and it is always at home in a protected environment.
Most usual source of problem the thinner cable SPLITS OPEN FOR NO APPARENT REASON
I HAVE NEVER BEEN OFFERED ONE FOR FREE AS REPLACEMENT BY APPLE.

Terrible. I need to buy my fourth charger in TWO years because these just stop stop working! I'm getting sick of spending so much money on a product that keeps breaking - I might look into changing brands if this persists..

I'm on my 3rd of these for my Macbook Pro. The original one and now its replacement have each broken at one end of the thin DC wire that runs from the adapter body to the Macbook. The 1st one broke at the adapter end; its more recent replacement at the magsafe plug end.

After my experience with the original cable breaking, I was sure to treat its expensive replacement carefully, but it still broke after approx 18months of use.

The thin cables on these products are not built stringly enough to withstand ordinary day to day use. Apple has already faced a class action lawsuit in the USA about this issue, but its liability does not extend to the UK, so I'm faced with yet buying another expensive replacement (currently GBP65).

When I have to replace this thing. The wires are now exposed and after less then a year of use. For something that's almost £70 I'd expect it to have a longer lifespan.

I bought my Macbook pro 2 years ago. Love the computer but the power adaptor is bad. This has to be the one of the poorest designs that Apple has come up with. In the 2 years I have had my Macbook the power adaptor cable has broke in the same place every time. I am now about to buy my third cable. This is not good enough Apple. Get your act together and redesign this item!!!!!!
