I've been bought the trackpad for a christmas present. It took just a day or two to really get into the features it has. One I particularly like is instead of making a click to go to view and then rotate when viewing and rotating a picture, simply use two fingers and make rotating motion with them on the trakpad and it does it...What an outstanding piece of kit...My computer is on a shelf on my wall above my bed so this is perfect. Even siting on uneven quilt I don't have to worry that the red laser won't register properly and wildly dart over the screen resulting in wrong icon selection for example. Also if you have the matching slim keyboard, when sat on a surface they both go side by side very neatly together making it a slick functional unit. If you have an apple with bluetooth then this is a must!!!

Having used a magic mouse since owning my iMac, I could well imagine how simple the magic trackpad would be to use, and it didn't disappoint.
The build quality is solid as you would expect, and it compliments the look and dimensions of the wireless keyboard.
Batteries supplied, and easy to install via bluetooth.
I went straight to the system preferences to familiarise myself with the gestures, and now using the trackpad seems like second nature.
It feels so intuitive it makes web-surfing, and using gestures on OSX Lion child's play!

I hate the impossible mouse replacements found on laptops and so was dubious about trying this trackpad. After the first day using the Magic Trackpad with OS X Lion, the mouse went out of the window. Works perfectly with Photoshop and Lightroom.

I'm very IMPRESSED and it takes a lot please me. its so easy to use its better than the magic mouse which i thought was ok. but the trackpad is brilliant 10/10

Got this track pad as a birthday present from my brother. At first I thought it might not be that great. I have a Macbook Pro and a Mac Pro. I love using the MBP track pad, so was eyeing on this new track pad. I already has OSX 10.6.7 on my Mac Pro, opened the box, turned on the unit, searched for bluetooth devices and it was instantly recognised. The Trackpad feels excellent, and has now replaced my optical Apple mouse. I love using it for Logic Pro and Adobe Photoshop / Premiere CS5.5. Great product.

WELL - always tempted by Apple's spangly shiny trinkets, I'd resisted buying this for nearly a year. I have a MacBook Pro, + magic mouse. Why would I want a trackpad the size of a small carpet next to my computer.

Lo! On a recent work trip to Malawi, I forgot to pack my mouse! Preparing PPT is no fun with just the onboard computer trackpad, so I took this opportunity (excuse - oh those trinkets) to buy a trackpad at LHR terminal 3 on the way out (warning - buying at airports saves only 1.80 off the retail price...hmmm).

On arrival in Malawi, booted up the MacBook, unpacked the pad, paired the two and away I went! As other reviewers note, this is simply a bigger version of the onboard pad. BUT I was soon allured by the size and action of the Magic Pad. It's sensitive, includes multi-gestures, and (this is the key selling point) my wrist doesn't ache. Yes, I know, though GORGEOUS, the Magic Mouse does have one problem - its idiosyncratic shape and size means that for some, holding the correct position for extended periods can be painful. Also, scrolling I find glitchy.

With the MP, your wrist rests on the surface, and your fingers do the work. The extra size means that you can really cover the whole screen - without (as happens to me sometimes) the Magic Mouse falling off the edge of a table as I strive to reach that one icon in the top right hand corner. Also, the two rubber feet at the front act as buttons, so if you're uncomfortable with the tapping malarkey, you can press the corners in the old-fashioned way.

So, the MP is not a NECESSITY if you have a mouse already, but I suspect I'll be using this more than the mouse when I get home. Oh, and as with all Apple, the thing is robust, compact, and well made.

Maybe its a good thing I forgot my mouse!

This is a very innovative piece of technology by Apple. Makes using Pro Tools 8 and Photoshop CS4 a dream. Controlling Pro Tools is just like using a HUI or digital console to work. Very flexible, affordable and fun to use. Very comfortable too. No more cramped wrists and hands from using a mouse to work!

Been using this new purchase all week on my iMac and would never go back to my 'magic mouse'. Looking forward to trying it with OS Lion upon its eventual release (come on, Apple)
