    LIVE BUT 1 FLAW

    • Written by

THIS IS THE GREATEST MOUSE IVE EVER HAD!!!!!!!!!!

THE O.N.L.Y FLAW IS THAT WHEN YOU WANT TO CLICK ON A COMPUTER MOUSE , THIS ONE IS LIKE A LAPTOPS MOUSE THEREFORE IT IS HARDER TO ENTER SOMETHING AND IF IT EVENTUALLY BECOMES OLD IT'LL GET STICKIER AND YOU WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO CICK ON SOMETHING EVER AGAIN

OVERALLY I'D RECOMMMEND THIS TO ANYBODY WHO OWNS AN APPLE MAC

    THE APPEARANCE IS STUNNING

Think its good, but can't tell

    • Written by from Nicholasville

First off, I have to clarify. Using this on a Mac Pro without internal bluetooth. I bought this along with the here advertised Belkin mini bluetooth. And they don't seem to like eachother. Basically to get it to work, each time the computer comes out of sleep I have to unplug then replug the bluetooth and pair manually. In order to this you obviously have to have another mouse, so it defeats the purpose. I'm sure this is a great product when it works, but just to warn you - don't use it with the Belkin mini bluetooth for sale on this site!

    apple does it again!

The magic trackpad is magic. It also works perfectly and is so intuitive and perfectly thought out that it is easy to learn. It is ergonomically much gentler than mice.
And really just wonderful- a new way to operate the computer-not at all like using a tiny laptop trackpad-also a wonderful simple design to live with.

Took me a couple of hours to get used to it - but it is amazing. Intuitive. Much more comfortable to use than a mouse.

    The Star of my Desk

    • Written by from MELKSHAM

This has to be the smartest, most intuitive, quickest and easiest way to get around my Mac Pro desktop ever invented! I have had it about a week before writing this and I have now put my Mouse away in the cupboard and don't expect to be getting it out again any time soon. It's so much easier on the hand moving round the 30" Cinema Display and is still much easier on my smaller 22" screen.

Well Done Apple, another good reason never to use a PC!

    Incredible!

I took the plunge and purchased this from the local Apple store a few days ago. Words cannot describe how cool this product is. It is incredibly tactile and versatile, and probably means that I will never use a mouse again.

    Wonderfull

    • Written by from Bradford

After trying Apple's previous mouse offerings and being disappointed in them I have finally found the pointing device for me. I use it on an LED 24" Cinema Display and it's just perfect. The size of the device fits the 1920 x 1200 display beautifully and is very responsive through the Bluetooth connection. No more installing Mouse Zoom Preference Panels for the Apple mice. Highly recommended.

Very sexy piece of kit...does exactly what it says - brilliantly!
    Another triumph by Apple.
Can't understand how anyone could possibly leave a negative review...

    surprised

    • Written by from CUMNOCK

I got to say after you get past the terrible setting up stage and putting it to your own settings.

Then yes it is a whole lot better than the mouse!!! also unlike the mouse don't get soar wrist which is a bonus and overall it works great. Mastering the speed and settings is probably the biggest hurdles but like everyone else I can see why this could make the mouse history and if the other computer systems are going to copy it in some way.

For it raises the game and makes surfing a lot easier!

    Major let down...

    • Written by from Dishforth, Thirsk

Having waited two weeks for delivery and having to buy the new operating system then install, I paired my track-pad for usage. What a disappointment, not only is it terribly unresponsive but it doesn't even do what it's supposed too. The four finger swipe to enter expose or what applications are running DOES NOT even work!!! Clicking is a chore as well as you have to force down the entire pad and others have also mentioned the pressure this places on the wrist with prolonged usage. Ironic as I expected it to reduce wrist pressure, this is not the case. The only plus I can think of is that it operates in tandem with an external mouse...so not much of a positive. Save your money.

I purchased the Magic Trackpad with my new iMac and have found that I use it more than the Magic Mouse as it is so simple and convenient to use - an excellent product.

    ergonomically no good

    • Written by from London

I was very excited when I set eyes on this device, but when I got it home and used it for a few hours my hand and wrist ached a lot. It's because of its sensitivity and the fact that you need to keep your hand and fingers lifted in order to carry out gestures, and this creates the strain, whereas you can rest your hand on the mouse easily. I really wish this had worked for me but it just didn't.

Good device but tough on the wrist.

    • Written by from Vancovuer

After a week with the Magic Trackpad I find it to be a pretty good device however it is a bit tough on the wrist for some reason. I'm trying a few different techniques including removing the wrist pad I used. Also, it is a bit tough to click unless you have big heavy hands like a lumber jack.

Great overall but erratic during wireless back-ups to Time Capsule

    • Written by from Brighton

Does exactly what it promises and is consequently a great mouse replacement, especially if you have cramped or cluttered workspaces.

You need to download the software before it will operate properly and this isn't covered well in the documentation accompanying the product, although information is provided on the site.

The biggest black mark applies to both the Magic Trackpad and Magic Mouse however - the movement becomes jumpy and imprecise during wireless backups to Time Capsule, making it very irritating to use. Apple really need to get this interference issued resolved.

As a result I've given it four stars and not five. Otherwise it's excellent - intuitive, versatile and a great pleasure to use.

    hypersensitive, but nice

    • Written by from Portland

I echo the comments of earlier users who say that this item needs a sensitivity control. I find my desktop constantly shrinking and expanding, and also find that I have selected an item that I didn't intend to. This thing is hypersensitive, while meanwhile the pad on my Macbook Pro is under-sensitive, so some kind of sensitivity adjustment would really be welcome. All that being said, I find that the Magic Trackpad is far less damaging to the wrist than the Magic Mouse, which was already a step ahead of all other interfaces. The amount of motion you have to do is minimal to achieve almost any command. Also it is nice to unify the interface between your laptop and your desktop if you happen to own both and migrate between them, which I do with great regularity. Overall I would say it is a big plus, which is why I have awarded four stars. If some sort of response control could be added to the mix, I would have to click that coveted fifth star. Overall, very pleased. By the way, I have to believe that the reviewers who got zero results from the Magic Trackpad failed to install the update required. Note that the update only works with the latest system, and it does not automatically appear in Software Update - - you need to specifically navigate to Apple's software updates on the Support page to find it. This is somewhat out of order with Apple's usual way of doing things; it would be nice if it could detect this new hardware piece and conjure up the correct software update. However, there is a little sticker on your brand new Trackpad that directs you to the correct URL.

    Outstanding

    • Written by from Wirral

Bought this as a birthday present to myself - at £59 it isn't cheap, but quality products never really are, are they?

I cannot believe how cool this little gadget is. It worked straight out of the box, recognised in seconds by my MacBook Pro and it is absolutely the best way to navigate around on my Mac. Sure, my built in trackpad does the the same thing, but my Magic Trackpad can be positioned anywhere I want, and it is so comfy!

My advice - get one. Get one today.

The plate that replaced my mouse!

    • Written by from London

It looks like a plate. How could this make any difference to my iMac? After calling customer services and updating my software (they were very helpful) It is now in full working order. It has taken a few hours of mucking about and training the hand. After all, I have never used a MacBook, so these controls are all new to me. From the two finger right click, the four finger swipe, and the pinch/zoom feature. This is an amazing add on to the other Apple products I have.
I highly recommend you getting one. Anyone who says it doesn't work, either has no clue how to use an Apple product, or has no patience to learn.
Don't hesitate to get one. The only downside will be that you didn't get it earlier. Enjoy.
