    Very fun to use

    • Written by from South Ockendon

I am a packaging designer and use one at work, only had it for 2 day so, and am finding it alot nicer and easier to use than the apple mouse, for people who dont know how to change the settings look in your system prefs, then change the trackpad settings in there, covers alot, I would recommend it any day

A great addition to the Apple Accessibility items on the Mac

    • Written by from PETERSFIELD

Having a neurological condition that has reduced the strength in both my hands, particularly my “mouse hand”, I find the sensitivity of the pad an absolute boon. It only needs to be caressed and tapped gently (once set up) to achieve everything I need. No longer any problems with the scroll ball on the mighty mouse getting dirty and needing to be cleaned! I would have given it five stars but for the price, which like many other people I felt to be excessive, particularly as the majority of the technology had already been established on the MacBooks.

    Magic Trackpad

    • Written by from Kettering

As I only use the Trackpad on my iBook I thought I would have a look at this product at the apple store in MK as an addition to my iMac.

Quick demo later and I had purchased it. Got it home enable Bluetooth on my iMac completed the software update and there it was installed, easy.

Have spent the evening playing with all the option and watching the clever little demo video of the function you highlight within the Trackpad settings in system preference and after finding the options that suit me, it is basically setup like my iBook. The Tap to click function is on (using the surface of the Pad) so I am not using the built in switches for most options only holding it down to drag.

I have not touched the mouse in about 5hrs on the iMac so I think for me its the way to go; is it the end of the mouse after 25 years of computing, possibly.

Magic Track Pad is indeed that

    • Written by from Mitcham

The Magic track pad is indeed Magic I use it with my Macbook pro unibody snow leopard. It gives you a new way to interact with Osx. It has the same gestures as the glass trackpad but the larger surface area is even more ideal, especially if you have big hands. Using my Macbook pro plugged into my HD TV with the Magic trackpad is so easy it gives more control from afar when sitting on the sofa. I have used it when editing in imovie gives more precise control than the magic mouse. The click buttons are built into the bottom front edges so works the same as the glass track pad. Perfect together with the Apple wireless keyboard. I also have a magic mouse and the trackpad is better when using gesture controls.

    Excellent device!

    • Written by from Sandy

I bought this at the opening of the Covent Garden shop and I love using it. I can still use the Mighty Mouse that I have, but this is very versatile and a delight to use. Also, there is no wire to constrain my cursor movement (sometimes happened with the mouse) and there is no mechanical wheel that needs cleaning.

Brilliant - Anybody want to buy a MagicMouse?

    • Written by from Rugby

I was a bit reluctant to buy the Magic Trackpad having only recently bought a Magic Mouse. However, having tried a Trackpad for a few minutes in Apple Leicester all I can say is WOW.
Its so intuitive and natural - a must buy!!!!!

    Excellent, albeit characteristically overpriced

    • Written by from Worcester

I have the Magic Trackpad on my Mac at work and I love it. I find it very comfortable to use. The tracking is of course less accurate than a mouse, but that is more than made up for by the multi-touch gestures. I will not be buying one of these for my Mac at home, however. As with most other Apple products, this device is grossly overpriced in my opinion. £40 would be a reasonable price. A quid short of £60 is not.

    Trackpad

Very good piece of kit. My only complaint is it was not made clear to me that it only works with Snow Leopard.

    Still worth the upgrade though.

    A good product

    • Written by from READING

A very good product. nice size, so useful to have the trackpad in a natural position to the side, and not in front with the built in laptop one. It lives up the mac book pro trackpad, does all the famous apple stuff, non of which windows laptops seem to come close to.

    Reservations:
    1) I need to use it longer as it points down and forces you wrist at a upward angle.
    2) It uses bluetooth and not wireless, this is major disadvantage for both useage and battery life.
    3) Apple still hasnt introduced the idea of allowing customer gestures which would be nice, like a lot of application which support mouse gestures.

overall impressed, does what it says on the tin in true apple mac style.

The best partner for ANY Mac. Why do some people complain about that is hard to click on it? Why don't they just get used to tap gently with one or two fingers for left or right click function?

    Splendid device

    • Written by from Kettering

I found the magic mouse a bit limiting after using the Macbook trackpad for so long, but the Magic Trackpad does all the things a macbook trackpad does on a bigger canvas. It really is the best thing I have come across for the purpose. The ability to rest the work hand on the surface while using the fingers and not getting interference from the resting hand is a fine thing. Buy One!

    LIVE BUT 1 FLAW

    • Written by

THIS IS THE GREATEST MOUSE IVE EVER HAD!!!!!!!!!!

THE O.N.L.Y FLAW IS THAT WHEN YOU WANT TO CLICK ON A COMPUTER MOUSE , THIS ONE IS LIKE A LAPTOPS MOUSE THEREFORE IT IS HARDER TO ENTER SOMETHING AND IF IT EVENTUALLY BECOMES OLD IT'LL GET STICKIER AND YOU WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO CICK ON SOMETHING EVER AGAIN

OVERALLY I'D RECOMMMEND THIS TO ANYBODY WHO OWNS AN APPLE MAC

    THE APPEARANCE IS STUNNING

Think its good, but can't tell

    • Written by from Nicholasville

First off, I have to clarify. Using this on a Mac Pro without internal bluetooth. I bought this along with the here advertised Belkin mini bluetooth. And they don't seem to like eachother. Basically to get it to work, each time the computer comes out of sleep I have to unplug then replug the bluetooth and pair manually. In order to this you obviously have to have another mouse, so it defeats the purpose. I'm sure this is a great product when it works, but just to warn you - don't use it with the Belkin mini bluetooth for sale on this site!

The magic trackpad is magic. It also works perfectly and is so intuitive and perfectly thought out that it is easy to learn. It is ergonomically much gentler than mice.
And really just wonderful- a new way to operate the computer-not at all like using a tiny laptop trackpad-also a wonderful simple design to live with.

    The Star of my Desk

    • Written by from MELKSHAM

This has to be the smartest, most intuitive, quickest and easiest way to get around my Mac Pro desktop ever invented! I have had it about a week before writing this and I have now put my Mouse away in the cupboard and don't expect to be getting it out again any time soon. It's so much easier on the hand moving round the 30" Cinema Display and is still much easier on my smaller 22" screen.

Well Done Apple, another good reason never to use a PC!

I took the plunge and purchased this from the local Apple store a few days ago. Words cannot describe how cool this product is. It is incredibly tactile and versatile, and probably means that I will never use a mouse again.
