I have just given all my mice to the cat...

The best partner for ANY Mac. Why do some people complain about that is hard to click on it? Why don't they just get used to tap gently with one or two fingers for left or right click function?

    Simply love it!

Took me a couple of hours to get used to it - but it is amazing. Intuitive. Much more comfortable to use than a mouse.

    Magic Trackpad

    • Written by from LONDON

Just received the magic track pad. 1st impressions are good. If you have ever used a mac laptop and like that, then you are going to love the track pad for working on your desktop.

You can change the settings so when you want to click to select you can just tap. This is ideal for those trips to the library or times when you need to be quite at night time.

High recommended for an easy fix to a click free life...

    Trackpad Feet

    • Written by from Norhampton

The Magic Trackpad is absolutely wonderful apart from one thing. If you move the Pad around too much the little rubber feet pop out. It is not too much trouble to put them back but they get weaker and fall out more often BUT... It does not appear to be possible to buy spare rubber feet which should cost a few pence. Come on Apple support your supporters

    Simple and Brilliant

But that's generally the Apple way.
Takes a short while to learn the multitouch swipes - from the start feels so much more natural than using a mouse.

An absolutely excellent product, really didn't think it would become such a natural extension to navigating my system, but it has, there are still certain applications that demand a mouse for me (mostly for the second button and then dragging action) but for the other 95% of use it is has completely replaced my mouse and for good reason.

    Nice, better than the mice.

    • Written by from Glasgow

I'd give it 5 stars but I think the configuration options could be more extensive and flexible.

For example, I use Spaces a lot. I like to flick between the 4 screens I use regularly but to do this I need to use the keyboard.
It would have been nice to have had the choice with the 4 fingered left/right swipe to move between my Spaces rather than have the pop up application selector which is slow and cumbersome.

It would also be nice to have a gesture that allows for Expose to reveal all windows in all Spaces as I was able to do with my old, now dead, magic mouse.

The Magic Trackpad gets 4 stars for being responsive, well designed and easy to use.
I almost bought the magic mouse a few weeks ago, very pleased I didn't now that this has come out.

You Have to Try this Out!

    • Written by from Gateshead

This feels so much more natural. I've been using it for about a half hour at the most and already it feels more productive. Moving between windows/applications, swiping through pages of documents, scrolling, zooming, it just all feels so much quicker. You hardly have to move! That might sound lazy but i'm someone who gets tension in my neck with using a mouse, this already feels much more relaxed.

The gestures alone make this worth trying out, but the increased ease of use, productivity and better ergonomics are a winner for me.

Bought with Apple USB keyboard to use with my MacBook Pro & Cinema Display. Easier to use than the MacBook track pad and better suited ergonomically. Click function is positive and the various swipe gestures make life very easy.

    Most excellent.

This is exactly what's needed, when hooking a MBP to an extra screen. This and the keyboard.

Multitouch gestures is just something you must have for your mac, and the touchpad is an excellent addition to your desktop environment.

You can even wake your Mac, by pressing the touchpad.

Don't normally review products but I thought I have to for this! After researching heavily on whether to get the trackpad solely for the purpose of using it away from my MacBook Pro, I decided to go for it! It did not disappoint one bit! I totally recommend purchasing the trackpad over the magic mouse any day. I very much like the integrated trackpad on the MacBook and have became used to all the different gestures; now having the trackpad I can carry it around within the comfort of my own home when it is connected to the TV! Absolutely fantastic! Anyone contemplating on whether to get one? DO IT!

    Apple track pad

    • Written by from Helensburgh

Purchased 6 weeks ago. Everything worked, and was useful, It has now stopped and can't be found by bluetooth, despite new batteries. I'm not impressed by the durability. I'll stay with my wacom bamboo pad, which is durable and reliable, though does not have the same finger-touch function, it remains preferable to a mouse.

Magic Trackpad best Apple accessory ever

    • Written by from DAVENTRY

Got this as a present for my 62nd birthday and wow its so easy to use with my Imac & 2011 macbook pro, no problems encountered setting up or using once a few basic tweaks made in settings, it makes life so easy when it comes to sorting through my 30,000 + photos, I now use it instead of my Magic mouse most of the time and I really cant wait for OSX Lion to come out which will compliment it even further.
Another great product from apple that I am proud to own.

Wasn't convinced, testing it in the Apple Store, but took a plunge and really pleased that I did. The Magic Mouse is hopelessly uncomfortable for larger hands and it was only a matter of time before the scroll-ball on the older Mighty Mouse packed-up !

Having had to rely more on my Macbook Pro than my iMac over the last year, working with mice seems unnatural now ...absolutely recommend this ...it's fast and feels less of a strain under continuous use. Get this, and get the wireless keyboard too — you deserve it !!

    A good product

    • Written by from READING

A very good product. nice size, so useful to have the trackpad in a natural position to the side, and not in front with the built in laptop one. It lives up the mac book pro trackpad, does all the famous apple stuff, non of which windows laptops seem to come close to.

    1) I need to use it longer as it points down and forces you wrist at a upward angle.
    2) It uses bluetooth and not wireless, this is major disadvantage for both useage and battery life.
    3) Apple still hasnt introduced the idea of allowing customer gestures which would be nice, like a lot of application which support mouse gestures.

overall impressed, does what it says on the tin in true apple mac style.

Think its good, but can't tell

    • Written by from Nicholasville

First off, I have to clarify. Using this on a Mac Pro without internal bluetooth. I bought this along with the here advertised Belkin mini bluetooth. And they don't seem to like eachother. Basically to get it to work, each time the computer comes out of sleep I have to unplug then replug the bluetooth and pair manually. In order to this you obviously have to have another mouse, so it defeats the purpose. I'm sure this is a great product when it works, but just to warn you - don't use it with the Belkin mini bluetooth for sale on this site!

Firstly i wasn't too sure about the trackpad, however I no longer use a mouse!
The trackpad is by far the best additional to my Mac Pro set-up. Ease of use if unbelievable. Defo wont be going back to The Mouse (sorry mouse)
