    Keep a USB keyboard handy

    • Written by from Dubin 14

Great keyboard until you are reduced to sacrificing chickens to get it to pair with a Mac Pro. It's happened several times over the last year. Normally I can re-pair thru Bluetooth preferences but the last time around the keyboard refused to enter discovery mode. The only fix was to physically walk it away from the house until the led started to blink again then turn around and go back home! After that it paired successfully though that's not a word I'd bandy about for this product.

Luckily I had an old USB keyboard lying around or there would have been no way to log in.

GREAT key board. GREAT with Magic Mouse.

    • Written by from Watford

I bought this with my iMac. It works. No wires. It is great with the Magic Mouse and there are no wires to tangle with my Ethernet and Printer wires. Love it. Well Done Apple!!

Apple's Aluminum Wireless Keyboard 2009 Model Impressions Review

    • Written by from BOURNEMOUTH

Its gorgeous design is perfect for my tastes and me think the keyboard's ergonomically satisfactory too. Me have smallish hands. Wireless and super fast means me can use it with my MacBook Pro or any iOS device at any distance which is truly awesome. It's feedback from the keys is probably just right.

As far as improvements go, perhaps Apple could experiment with even quieter typing and softer keys? Of course everyone's tastes are different and we want a nice balance in features (or different versions of the keyboard). A backlit keyboard would be nice if possible. Also the price could be lower - somewhere in the range of £45 delivered would be good enough. Specials thanks for the Russian keyboard. Would ideally like that to be delivered quicker than "3-4 weeks"...

As far as technicalities go, there is what appears to be a small fault (software?) that many people experience with their caps lock key that fails to light up at times. Switching your device off and on generally solves this. Also, both; trackpad and keyboard make noise as they vibrate from clicking / typing. The battery in the battery compartment moves and it's unpleasant. That is easily countered with a peace of paper inserted into the compartment along with the battery. Lastly, many people seem to experience the same issue when the keyboard suddenly stops working after a year or so of use. All seem to fix this easily with some foil inserted into the battery compartment which leads to a conclusion that after a while an issue with the connection develops. Of course, it being Apple, taking your keyboard to an Apple store would probably get you a new keyboard, no questions asked.

    Really good piece of equipment

    • Written by from Cheadle

This a really good piece of technology made by the reliable company: Apple. It is compatible with iPod's, iPhone's, iPad's and iMac's as far as I'm aware. I use it all the time when I'm writing big sentences on my iPod. It uses Bluetooth to connect to other Apple technology. It seems to be a similar keyboard to the MacBook keyboard. The only problem is that it can sometimes be really hard to tell if it's on or off. Otherwise, this is really worth buying.

Typical Apple quality and functionality :-)

    • Written by from WATCHET

I love this little keyboard. Yes, it may take a short time to adapt to, after using old style keyboards, but once you're used to it, you'll hate having to type on anything else again.

As for the complaint someone made about the £ sign... it sounds like s/he was using a US keyboard and not a British one. I have the £ sign printed above the 3 on mine... in fact I just used it (with Shift only, as is normal, no worry about the Option key)! You only have to look at the enlarged pic on this page to see the £ sign on the British keyboard layout in closeup.

Am currently using keyboard now. Have had no issues what so ever with it and managed to pair with my ipad in less than 1 minute. Keyboard has soft keys which are easy to touch compared to other keyboards. I would thoroughly recommend this product

    Almost there

    • Written by from Birmingham

Great product with a fresh and clean imagine like all apple products.

Negatives - Needs a delete key, as well as a hashtag key.

The option for wireless keyboards with a numerical keypad would also be ideal, but not as essential as the other two small changes.

    Works as it should

    • Written by from hillerød

I recently bought the wireless keyboard for my MacBook Pro Retina and my iPad 1st gen. I have used it a couple of days on both and I have not found a single problem. Some people says the bluetooth connection is bad, but I haven't been able to find any problems of that matter. People also complain about the numeric part is missing, but I believe they knew that before they bought it, so why buy it? I can only rate it five stars as there is no issues which have occurred.

Love it! Functional, works well, no complaints

    • Written by from LONDON

I've been using this keyboard for some months and love it. Works well with rechargeable batteries (so long as you know when to replace) and pairs easily with your laptop/iMac etc.

Not really expensive as lightweight and if you wanted to use anywhere you could although you might not be able to see your screen!

    Well worth it!

Light and compact, but lacking in functionality.

    • Written by from London

Beyond the obvious benefits of wireless technology, this keyboard unfortunately sacrifices too much functionality to achieve its slight, compact form.

Fine for casual use, although anyone with average to large hands may find even this to be a struggle.

It excludes a number of keys, which in my case is a deal-breaker.

Lacking are: home/end, page up/down, delete and F13 keys, as well as numeric keyboard (with associated keys and layout)

It also has a single ctrl key (on the left) instead of the usual two.

Inadequate for workflows associated with a lot of keyboard shortcuts, and not great for number crunchers either.

    A Great Keyboard

    • Written by from Milton Keynes

I bought an iMac 6 months ago so therefore got this keyboard. It looks great and performs well. At first I wash unsure if such a small keyboard would be comfortable to type at but it is the most comfortable keyboard that I have ever used.

Although I am not a heavy typer I am impressed that I have only had to change the batteries on this once in 6 months.

The only drawback is that there is no delete key but the design and comfort of using it make up for this.

This keyboard worked really well with the iPad, believe it or not but I'm using it to type this. I recommend that you buy an Incase origami workstation with your keyboard and iPad. I find this keyboard very useful also because I always end up hitting the 'n' button instead of a space bar. The origami workstation hold your iPad and your keyboard, it also folds up when your not using it and folds into a case for your keyboard. It is portable and almost makes your iPad look like a laptop. I wouldnt of found out about that stand because it was on a really high shelf in the apple store and the apple employee pointed it out and it is WELL WORTH IT! THE KEYBOARD IS WICKED! BUY IT!

    Apple Wireless Keyboard - Disappointing

    • Written by from Elsfield

I have this keyboard approximately 4 weeks and use it with my macbook pro 13.5. I lose connectivity every few minutes and when doing so, it's as if the keyboard sticks and types anywhere between 25 and 50 of the one letter across the screen like thhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh (it actually just did that of it's own accord at the exact poinnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnt I was going to type it in. I will be sending my keyboard back. It is a complete waste of money. The above is an example of whhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhat it is like trying to use my keyboard.

Nice Keyboard- shame about the keys!!

    • Written by from Ballyclare

Wireless keyboard came with my iMac. Very pretty- it is neat and I found easy to use until....... the letter 'n' stopped working- gave a spectacular beep every time it was pressed. Bit of a problem as there is an 'n' in my password so I was unable to log on. Humph!!!

Have now bought a wired keyboard in the hope that it will be more reliable.
