    Superb for intended use

    • Written by from Douglas

Contrary to the impression given by some reviews this keyboard has full-size keys with standard pitch. It is just that everything extraneous that could be left off, given current technology, has been. It is basically Apple's Macbook keyboard in a minimalist housing. If you cannot use this keyboard productively then you must have a very different typing style to me.

The short-stroke keys did feel strange at first and need a light touch. For touch-typing I am now convinced this is the best solution and I find that the design imposes less strain than typical membrane keyboards and with no loss of typing speed. My previous favourite Microsoft ergonomic keyboard now feels spongy and hard work in comparison.

Why use a wireless keyboard at all? To reduce desk clutter and for use away from the workstation for presentations or when driving something like Logic are the 2 reasons that appeal to me. This minimalist design meets this requirement perfectly as it is small and light enough to balance on my lap or my music stand far more easily than my older, full-size "plastic tray" wireless equivalent. It is also small enough to take on the road in a typical laptop rucksack which might make sense for use with an iPad.

I have yet to get through my first set of batteries but I suspect power management is far better than on the previous model.

For some applications and tasks a numeric keypad can be useful so I will not be throwing away my wired full-size model. For everyday tasks this is perfectly adequate as proven by Macbook users.

I would rate it at 4 stars as a standard keyboard (a numeric keypad can be useful and I suppose the dedicated Delete key will appeal to hunt-and-peck typists) but definitely 5 for what I perceive to be its intended applications. The final deciding point for my purchase is that it can by used with the iPad and I don't think we will be able to resist buying one of those once they are available in the UK.

    Not just for Mac users!

After being very happy with the keyboard on my MacBook Pro, I bought this keyboard for my WINDOWS 7 PC

Firstly, this WILL work with a PC (as long as you have Bluetooth v2.0 or higher), simply add device, enter the code into the keyboard then press enter! Sadly, as Apple do not officially support windows installations you will have a couple of keys mis-matched and no use of the media keys... unless... you download boot camp (free from the Apple website) and this will match up all the keys, enable media keys and even the eject button works!

Stop complaining about the loss of a handful of keys which are not needed...

-the row you find above 'QWERTY' are numbers, you do not need to have another set of numbers on the right too

-'fn' + backspace will do delete

    - and prt-srn is not needed, mac users press 'cmd' + 'shift' + '4' and select the part of the screen you actually want rather than the whole screen and windows users use the snipping tool which does the same thing.

    Pros...
    - Compact
    - Sturdy
    - Pleasure to type on
    - Compatible with PC and Mac

    Cons...
    - No extra keys or numeric pad
    - Not officially supported for Windows

As regards the cons remember Apple offer a wired keyboard with the traditional layout which is cheaper, go and buy that if that is what you need. I prefer the extra space and freedom of a small wireless board. Finally, these keyboard come with iMacs, which are Windows compatible, so by extension they work on PCs also.

    Great product, as usual

    • Written by from Chester le Street

Just bought this today and must say I'm very impressed. Although the keys are pretty much in the same place as the earlier wired keyboard, it seems it may take a few days to get used to how much less there is to the whole thing.

Don't let other reviews put you off, people complaining about there not being a delete key. To delete something (not backspace), simply press the 'fn' key along with the 'backspace' key and voila, delete! It seems to me that unless everything is written out for some people, they just don't get it (hands up if you've complained there isn't a # key on Apple keyboards?? (Opt+3)).

As expected, this keyboard has both form and function, and the fact I can stick it away in a drawer, or on the stand under my iMac, should I ever need immediate desk space, adds kudos in my opinion.

    I still like it!

I purchased my wireless keyboard when they first came out and found it to be just perfect until now ... the letters are wearing off the keyboard! The i has completely disappeared; the a,s,e,d and h are fading fast. I can cope with this as I am a touch typist who learned to type on a typewriter with the keys covered but it does rather spoil the look. Has anyone else had this problem?

As for no delete key - just highlight whatever you need to delete and hit the back space key and voila it's deleted!

I use this computer for my new Windows 7 Home Theatre PC. Its absolutely great. It is small and sleek enough to be left out without being an eyesore and yet still usable without a desk. Looks brilliant and as with all my other mac stuff works without fault.

I received the new keyboard and magic mouse with my replacement iMac. I think the keyboard is 100% better than any previous Apple keyboard. Great feel to it, fairly quiet and a much better size. Well done Apple!!

Love it! Functional, works well, no complaints

    • Written by from LONDON

I've been using this keyboard for some months and love it. Works well with rechargeable batteries (so long as you know when to replace) and pairs easily with your laptop/iMac etc.

Not really expensive as lightweight and if you wanted to use anywhere you could although you might not be able to see your screen!

    Well worth it!

    Great keyboard

    • Written by from London

This keyboard is expensive, but it's bluetooth and as small as you can make a keyboard before it becomes uncomfortable. The batteries last for ages, I got one to compliment my MacBook Pro with the mStand and I have to say the combination of those along with a magic mouse is absolutely killer.

You must understand that any piece of technology should be treated with respect, if you have children or pets then you should try and make sure they don't get near your hardware unless you want it to be broken a lot quicker than it should be.

A keyboard is for typing on, that's it. Don't use it as a baseball bat because it will break.

Not a Bad Bit of Kit

    • Written by from Tullamore

Got this about 2 months ago and am very pleased with it. Its small sleek design is very nice to look at and typing on the keyboard is a pleasure requiring the lease amount of effort when compared to other bog standard keyboards you get with some PC Keyboards.

I have the Wired keyboard and the Wireless keyboard (one for office and one for home). When compared against one another the keys on the Wireless are a little more stiff but not to the point that it is annoying. The Wireless does not come with a USB hub like the Wired but to be honest I never really use it so I don't really miss it. It doesn't come with a Num pad either but again I never really use it when I have it.

Since I have had it I have not needed to change the batteries, this is probable due to the power down feature on the keyboard when your not using it, but it only takes a second to wake up when you press a key. I would consider myself a "Power User" and use my computer all day every day and was quite surprised I didn't have to change the batteries yet.

If you need an Apple keyboard get this one, you won't miss the USB Hub, the batteries in it last for ages. It's quite neat and tidy so if you stuck for space on your desk this is the best option.
