I've had my imac almost 3 years, I found the wireless keyboard to be excellent, worthy of 5 stars, until a few months after purchase the X key popped off, no idea why, it clips on again and it works ok but regularly comes off again. Then last month when i returned from 5 weeks holiday the 'a' or 'ctrl' keys didn't work, after a test using the keyboard viewer I realised the left 'shift' button and 'alt' key weren't working either and there is no explanation at all. I know nothing was spilled as I was away and there is no moisture on my desk or any way it could have become damaged. As a student its rather difficult to type essays without an A key and having no 'ctrl' function is just annoying. I have no other faults or problem with my imac and my partner's 10 year old mac and keyboard are still working perfectly so I'm sure its not wear and tear. Looks like I have no choice but to buy a new keyboard and hope the same doesn't happen to it but a quick internet search leads me to believe this kind of thing is fairly common. disappointing for a keyboard with a £57 price-tag!

Although the keyboard itself is absolutely beautiful there are some drawbacks. I have had mine for a little while now and I must say I barely used it. Why is that you might ask? Well for one I wanted the keyboard not only to use on my mac but also on my PS3. Having looked at other keyboards this one just generally looks nicer and I would usually go for Apple products because they do tend to work fine. The one I got had issue with both connecting to my mac and to my PS3. It would drop it connection a lot on both platforms and quite often I would have to re-pair the devices. Not only this but having left mine on the shelf, for not a considerable amount of time, the batteries corroded inside. I have never had this problem with anything else that takes a battery and I am led to believe that there is no way to repair or fix the problem without damaging and ruining the keyboard. My suggestion to you would be to be wary and make sure that if you are not entirely happy with it to take it back. My suggestion to Apple would be to make a wireless keyboard that we can all plug in and save any issues with batteries at all.

I so wanted to love everything about my new iMac. But I'm resigned to barely tolerating this little keyboard.

For looks, 10. It's as cute and shiny as a supermodel.

For functionality, 4. It's not great at all. I'm a writer and touch typer and it's just not up to the job.

Maddening to us, the spacebar doesn't work unless you hit it right in the centre which means I'm stopping every few seconds to backspace and make corrections; the @ symbol isn't in the standard UK place and there is no way (without downloading a non-Apple programme) to change it; to delete anything you need two hands and the lack of a numeric keypad is a seriously unhelpful omission.

There is actually no need for the keyboard to be this small. Laptop size is fine for a laptop, for a static model of this expense I fully expected a less crowded keyboard with the basic functions all covered. Is that really too much to ask?

I would snap Apple's hand off to swap this with something less elegant and wired that actually helps, rather than hinders, my ability to use this computer.

Switching from Macbook to iMac was made easy thanks to this device. Unfortunately, it just underwent its first battery change and now it doesn't switch on. Apple will be getting shouted at later.

I give this keyboard two stars for the positive features mentioned by others: portability and responsiveness. However, as a touch typist, I simply hate it. I got this keyboard with my new iMac, and unlike the computer itself, this has been a complete waste of money. I cannot see the logic of giving a desktop machine a notebook keyboard; portability is not a requirement on the desktop. An extended keyboard with full page manipulation, delete and numeric functionality is more appropriate. I sorely miss these features. Worst of all are the small keys, which for the unfortunate among us with large hands is a real handicap. Typing mistakes are the order of the day, thus reducing my speed to a crawling stutter. Here is the last sentence typed without any corrections. [Here 8s the oastr sentence typed q8th97t any c9rrect89hs.] Ughh …!
IF YOU ARE A TOUCH TYPIST, DON'T TOUCH THIS KEYBOARD.
Apple should go back to the drawing board, do a product recall, and replace free of charge. I shall be forced to buy a non-Apple, inelegant but functional keyboard.
