Having fallen in love with a very old Viglen PC keyboard years ago, I have been in constant search of the ultimate small footprint keyboard that does everything I need it to do and lets me work quickly and by touch since then. This is it, and it's wireless to boot. An awesome addition in my opinion to the Mac machine.

Ok, it takes a while to get used to pressing fn+backspace for delete, but other than that, it's worth investing the time in getting used to it. At least there is a key combination for it and they didn't just strike it from the keyboard completely ! !

Batteries last around a month, the machine warns me when the batteries are on the way out, so all good.

I cannot recommend this enough! If you want a small keyboard that looks pretty, works well and can survive regular abuse, this is the kiddy for you.

Sleek & beautiful - no numeric keypad version - watch out on PC (tip)

I got the keyboard with the new iMac and it is a lovely bit of kit, quite quiet and sleek. Unfortunately due to my work I need the numeric keypad so had to plug in the wired version I had and went to attach the wireless to the PC. I had a nightmare, the drivers needed updating, removing and updating over and over again and it kept losing connection on restart, with the iMac taking control over it. All I needed to do was to remove the keyboard from the Bluetooth preferences on the Mac (disconnected is not enough) which stopped it from butting in and stealing the wireless keyboard even though it had a USB version.

I am now completely happy with it.

I received the new keyboard and magic mouse with my replacement iMac. I think the keyboard is 100% better than any previous Apple keyboard. Great feel to it, fairly quiet and a much better size. Well done Apple!!

This keyboard is expensive, but it's bluetooth and as small as you can make a keyboard before it becomes uncomfortable. The batteries last for ages, I got one to compliment my MacBook Pro with the mStand and I have to say the combination of those along with a magic mouse is absolutely killer.

You must understand that any piece of technology should be treated with respect, if you have children or pets then you should try and make sure they don't get near your hardware unless you want it to be broken a lot quicker than it should be.

A keyboard is for typing on, that's it. Don't use it as a baseball bat because it will break.

Although the keyboard itself is absolutely beautiful there are some drawbacks. I have had mine for a little while now and I must say I barely used it. Why is that you might ask? Well for one I wanted the keyboard not only to use on my mac but also on my PS3. Having looked at other keyboards this one just generally looks nicer and I would usually go for Apple products because they do tend to work fine. The one I got had issue with both connecting to my mac and to my PS3. It would drop it connection a lot on both platforms and quite often I would have to re-pair the devices. Not only this but having left mine on the shelf, for not a considerable amount of time, the batteries corroded inside. I have never had this problem with anything else that takes a battery and I am led to believe that there is no way to repair or fix the problem without damaging and ruining the keyboard. My suggestion to you would be to be wary and make sure that if you are not entirely happy with it to take it back. My suggestion to Apple would be to make a wireless keyboard that we can all plug in and save any issues with batteries at all.

    Very good, but not perfect.

The reason I purchased this keyboard is that I use my MacBook Pro keyboard so often that I eventually became used to the layout and chiclet keyboard and had a difficult time adjusting whenever I sat down to use my stationary keyboard.

The design is great and it is sturdy and compact and I love how it can be put away in a drawer with ease whenever I want to free up space on my desk for books or papers. I have to complaints in terms of the design: (1) white keys get dirty and uglier more easily than do black keys--the keyboard should be offered in both colors; and (2) while I knew that I was getting a laptop keyboard mounted in a desktop casing, I can't help but miss having dedicated home, end and delete buttons.

Was this useful? Very good, but not perfect.

    Caps lock broken..

Caps lock - fairly random as to whether it would work (found only using the far right of the button had a better success rate). Now the light is just showing as on - irrespective of whether it is. Seems this is a common fault on both the wired and wireless keyboards form reading the reviews.

The lack of basic buttons (Delete, page up/down, home, end) is very frustrating and now i am trying to use my Mac more for word processing etc makes this product pretty awful.

Connectivity also seems to be an issue; as it regular becomes unconnected for 20 / 30 seconds.

Very good quality keyboard, loads of cheap alternatives but I think its worth paying the extra few quid for it because you know it will def work! It doesnt have a delete button or at least I can't find it but it does have a backspace button, not that big a deal tho. I bought the keyboard for the ipad, which works fine but theres not that many shortcut keys that work just a few basic ones like music and brightness. It would be handy if they could be remapped for home screen, search and lock keys etc... Some has already Shame or I would have given it 5 stars!

Got delivery of the keyboard not half an hour ago and had it up an running in less than a minute. I am using it attached to my 65Gb iPod Touch running iOS4. Works like a dream. I know some people don't like the size of it but for me with my small hands it is perfect.

Great keyboard, would use it all the time except it has no forward delete key. Makes it pretty much useless if you do a lot of text editing. Come on Apple - how basic is this?

Apple's Aluminum Wireless Keyboard 2009 Model Impressions Review

Its gorgeous design is perfect for my tastes and me think the keyboard's ergonomically satisfactory too. Me have smallish hands. Wireless and super fast means me can use it with my MacBook Pro or any iOS device at any distance which is truly awesome. It's feedback from the keys is probably just right.

As far as improvements go, perhaps Apple could experiment with even quieter typing and softer keys? Of course everyone's tastes are different and we want a nice balance in features (or different versions of the keyboard). A backlit keyboard would be nice if possible. Also the price could be lower - somewhere in the range of £45 delivered would be good enough. Specials thanks for the Russian keyboard. Would ideally like that to be delivered quicker than "3-4 weeks"...

As far as technicalities go, there is what appears to be a small fault (software?) that many people experience with their caps lock key that fails to light up at times. Switching your device off and on generally solves this. Also, both; trackpad and keyboard make noise as they vibrate from clicking / typing. The battery in the battery compartment moves and it's unpleasant. That is easily countered with a peace of paper inserted into the compartment along with the battery. Lastly, many people seem to experience the same issue when the keyboard suddenly stops working after a year or so of use. All seem to fix this easily with some foil inserted into the battery compartment which leads to a conclusion that after a while an issue with the connection develops. Of course, it being Apple, taking your keyboard to an Apple store would probably get you a new keyboard, no questions asked.

This a really good piece of technology made by the reliable company: Apple. It is compatible with iPod's, iPhone's, iPad's and iMac's as far as I'm aware. I use it all the time when I'm writing big sentences on my iPod. It uses Bluetooth to connect to other Apple technology. It seems to be a similar keyboard to the MacBook keyboard. The only problem is that it can sometimes be really hard to tell if it's on or off. Otherwise, this is really worth buying.

I love this little keyboard. Yes, it may take a short time to adapt to, after using old style keyboards, but once you're used to it, you'll hate having to type on anything else again.

As for the complaint someone made about the £ sign... it sounds like s/he was using a US keyboard and not a British one. I have the £ sign printed above the 3 on mine... in fact I just used it (with Shift only, as is normal, no worry about the Option key)! You only have to look at the enlarged pic on this page to see the £ sign on the British keyboard layout in closeup.

    Back to the bomb-proof keyboard!

I have had this keyboard for a little over 6 months now and I am less than impressed to say the least.

The caps button has broken and so the light shines even if I have caps turned off. This in turn drains the battery quick and I have had to resort to turning the keyboard off when I shut down.

I am constantly loosing connection even with fresh Duracell batteries and my mac being less than 2 feet away. My 'm' and 'u' buttons have packed up so when I try to hold shift for a captial 'U' I get 'IORTUY' instead of the desired character. Frankly I'm appalled by the quality of this product and have had ro revert back to my solid old mac keyboard.

I am not a heavy typist and have always taken very good care of my apple products due to how expensive they are, but they have taken the mickey a bit with this one! I shall not be buying another new gen apple keyboard in the near future.
