    Wireless Keyboard design flaw

    • Written by from SURBITON

I've had my wireless keyboard now for about 2 years. In essence it is fine but a design fault appears to be if and when the AA batteries inside corrode - they get stuck and seems impossible to them get out. It's a shame to have to keep replacing peripherals because of design flaws. I shall go back to an Apple wired keyboard when I visit the store tomorrow to replace it.

Replacement for badly designed previous model

    • Written by from London

If anyone's looking at getting this keyboard because they're previous (3 battery) one has died - try inserting a little roll of tinfoil in before the batteries. This is a common fix for supposedly 'dead' bluetooth keyboards (badly designed by Apple).

Unfortunately mine has complete died while changing the batteries, which isn't great. £60 down the toilet, for something I looked after well. How can changing a set of batteries kill a piece of 'high-end' electronics? Oh, that's right, it's cheap rubbish that looks nice...

    Very disappointing

    Waster of money

Never works properly always having to pair keyboard with Macbook and never works with bootcamp. This will soon go the way of the Apple Mouse with an axe through it.

    STYLE AND PRACTICALTY

    • Written by from LEICESTER

I haven't had this very long but am already in love with it. I use it it with my iPad and prefer it to the pop up keyboard. I'm still getting to know the keys and although it doesn't have the full functionality as when used with an Apple Mac it is still well worth the money.

There was no problem pairing it with my iPad at all so I was up and running almost as soon as it was out of the box! I have never had any problems connecting with it since pairing, as long as I remember to switch it on! The battery life is very impressive and as it turns itself off if means your not wasting them either.

It is light and comfortable to hold , much lighter than the iPad itself. And not only that it is a good looking piece of equipment to boot.

I would recommend this product without qualms.

    Great product!

This keyboard came with my iMac in a nice package and the design of the keyboard was great. It was sleek and very impressive. It is very comfortable to type with, but since I am used to Windows PC keyboards, it took a few days to master as the size was smaller and slightly more cramped, but this you can overcome quickly. I am fairly quick typer and I could type on here with no errors even though the size is smaller than other keyboards. Setup was easy with a new Mac because it was connected to the computer at startup, and it probably is as easy to pair if you bought a replacement. The shortcut keys at the top of the keyboard are fast and easy to adjust basic settings such as brightness and volume and access mission control, launchpad etc. In fact they are quicker and easier than access via the multi touch gestures of the mouse (not sure about trackpad though.)

Overall, I would highly recommend this keyboard for any Mac desktop user as it gets the job done perfectly, as well as incorporating added functionality and a sleek and attractive design.

    Great Buy

Just purchased the keyboard in order to type more easily on my ipad mini as the screen is difficult to type for any entended period of time on. absolute quality bit of kit, sleekdesign, in fitting with everything apple produce, decent sized keyboard and individual keys making typing free and easy and easy to set up and connect. Would thoroughly recommend for anyone in need of a keyboard for an ipad

Making a move to OSX keyboarding

    • Written by from Dudley

Making the move from Windows to OSX was something i never expected to be completely painless. However since the advent of windows 8 the choice was made for me, and so came the need to relearn how to use a Mac Keyboard. FACT like keys do different things. However after a short while of re-teaching yourself all becomes second nature. This was all made easier with the help of this apple cut down keyboard. none of the pesky shortcut keys windows forces you to use. so to the device, firstly it looks great, the same high equality finish so many try to emulate. The battery life is great and setup could not be more simple. the keys are response and well spaced.

One word of warning this is a reduced key set keyboard like a macbook. If like a number of those giving this peripheral a low score you are to complain about the lack of page up/down keys or the delete key. Get the full size apple keyboard with numeric pad.

This is what it advertises to be nothing more. it is however very good at doing this.

    Nice keyboard

    • Written by from Ystradgynlais

Bought one for use with my Mac Mini after I spilled tea over my cheaper genreric bluetooth keyboard. Unlike that one the apple keyboard doesn't disconnect after being idle for 5 minutes. The sleek design looks good and the keys are good to the touch. Being a touch typist, my one gripe is the in the layout of the @ and " keys which are the "wrong" way around. Although this can be corrected by selecting Brtish PC as the input source, I am trying to see if I can get on with the layout as is. Another gripe, which applies to all UK keyboards, do we really need the $ key? This should be replaced, IMO, by the € key. A suggestion that Apple might consider on future keyboards.

That said, it was still a good purchase.

Am currently using keyboard now. Have had no issues what so ever with it and managed to pair with my ipad in less than 1 minute. Keyboard has soft keys which are easy to touch compared to other keyboards. I would thoroughly recommend this product

Light and compact, but lacking in functionality.

    • Written by from London

Beyond the obvious benefits of wireless technology, this keyboard unfortunately sacrifices too much functionality to achieve its slight, compact form.

Fine for casual use, although anyone with average to large hands may find even this to be a struggle.

It excludes a number of keys, which in my case is a deal-breaker.

Lacking are: home/end, page up/down, delete and F13 keys, as well as numeric keyboard (with associated keys and layout)

It also has a single ctrl key (on the left) instead of the usual two.

Inadequate for workflows associated with a lot of keyboard shortcuts, and not great for number crunchers either.

    apple wireless blutooth Keboard

The apple Keboard is good, but they could make the Keboard backlit lit, like the mac book pro, it feels really nice to use., it has good range, and can connect very quikly to your device.

    Lovely piece of kit

    • Written by from CARDIFF

Superb keyboard, follows apple design and quality. To anyone complaining its too small, its the same size as all apple laptops, so when you switch from one to the other, your fingers always know where to go. How annoying would it be if every keyboard was spaced differently?
Someone also mentioned no delete key!!? I type from left to right so theres nothing to ever need to delete on the right side of the cursor, simple but true.
It sticks to my desk well, cleans easily and is everything i expect a mac keyboard to be.
The photoshop keyboard shortcut covers also transfer from my macbook to this keyboard!

What's with the four stars people?

    • Written by from ipswich

Firstly I have large hands and this keyboard is very easy to type on, those saying its too small simply need to learn how to type correctly. It's such a nice and sleek action you can feel such a good feedback from each key, I have never been able to type as quickly as I can on this.

Hate using my windows keyboard at work.

    Almost there

    • Written by from Birmingham

Great product with a fresh and clean imagine like all apple products.

Negatives - Needs a delete key, as well as a hashtag key.

The option for wireless keyboards with a numerical keypad would also be ideal, but not as essential as the other two small changes.

    Do not buy

    • Written by from Ballasalla

I have got one with the iMac that I bought few years ago. I was not happy at all. Very energy hungry, if you are doing something more than just searching the web, it will be really annoying to replace batteries every few weeks. Why on earth they are pushing this piece of junk with an iMac which, I guess, is probably being bought mainly by the guys who actually want to do something more than just consume media (those guys will perfectly do with a tablet only). Anyway, to make long story short, I bought a 'no name usb keyboard' for about 20 pounds, it is not perfect, but at least it works without batteries.

Nice Keyboard- shame about the keys!!

    • Written by from Ballyclare

Wireless keyboard came with my iMac. Very pretty- it is neat and I found easy to use until....... the letter 'n' stopped working- gave a spectacular beep every time it was pressed. Bit of a problem as there is an 'n' in my password so I was unable to log on. Humph!!!

Have now bought a wired keyboard in the hope that it will be more reliable.
