    Faultless.

Having had my iMac since January this year, I did have some fear that moving from a Windows based PC would be problematic. This has not been the case.

iLife '09 has been simple to pick up so much so, I could never imagine getting a Windows based PC again.

The iPhoto and iMovie applications are worth the upgrade money alone!

    Comming from PC to iMac

What an experience to just buy a computer (20" iMac) to a fair price and find that it has what it takes to do what we want for private use right out of the box.
The pro-applications I use for work on a PC mostly run on the Mac as well so I haven't looked at problems this far.

I've just upgraded on a G5 1.9Ghz with 512Mb RAM and it works OK... but I have also just ordered a RAM upgrade in order to speed it up.

    would definitely recommend.

One of the reasons why you should just get a Mac and not a PC.

    Apple's best software package ever

    Written by TS from Tadley

I use this on a 1.83ghz mac mini and it hasn't put a foot wrong yet. I'm able to edit movies with iMovie with ease and now with almost unlimited features; iPhoto's new features are exactly what you need to organize your photos. GarageBand now has the perfect software amp set for guitars. iWeb is just so easy to use. iDVD still amazing. This is a package that has been thought through and perfected. I'm lucky that i bought my mac mini after January 6th so i got my iLife 09 disc for £7.94. But having used it i would happily pay way more than £79. Easy buy.

    Unlocking the ideas

    Written by BR from Plymouth

iLife delivers with excellent added functionality in iPhoto, Garage Band and iMovie. It has kept me busy for hours and fired up loads of new ideas. iMovie especially has that ideal mix of ease of use and sophisticated results. I tried Final Cut and just got bogged down, thinking a just can't do it. With this upgrade, I feel I can and I do and so can the kids !
Excellent product and well worth the money.

Very good upgrade, can't wait for next one

iLife 09 is a very good upgrade. I bought it mainly for my use of iPhoto.

When you want to enhance your photos, not only can you use the enhance feature which can sometimes over-cook the results you are looking for but you can adjust & fine-tune exactly how you need them to look even after using the enhance feature. But, almost all photos really come to life and have that quality feel about them.

One thing I must say is I think Mac hurried iPhoto to be ready in time for their launch - a common problem I found was that iPhoto is a little unstable or slow to respond; it may be due to me having over 8,000 photos in iPhoto but I never had an unstable or slow problem with 08. The face detection feature is quite good for people but when it come to animals (and animals have faces too, regular shapes and colours) it just can't recognise any animal faces, of cats at least.

I've yet to become familiar with other iLife features but I'm sure it will be up to the usual Mac standard. Well done Macintosh!!

OK but not quite there yet

Cards on the table I'm an iMovie 06 fan. 09 has some great transitions and effects and I've experimented with the audio field. My complaint would be that you can't fade this music in and out with (if at all?) with the ease of use of 06. If you could do that I'd probably be sold on it. However it's early days I will give it a good go until I can get my head around FC HD

imovie 09 is awesome - phew!

I, probably like you was concerned after imovie 08. Though I didn't winge about it, I bought Final Cut and used that instead.
Thank heavens for imovie 09. IMO it blows both out of the water. The features are fantastic! I love being able to add comments so I can see which part of the film I'm editing, no more random scrolling and guesswork.
The interface can be tweeked too. So if like me you've been using Final Cut, you can swap the timeline to the bottom, and the events to the top left.
AVCHD works great too. But, as with AVCHD it still needs to import the files in apple intermediate codec (by my reckoning 40GB per hour maybe?).
I also love the face recognition in iphoto.
Amazing package - worth every penny.
