    Great mouse

Best mouse by fare and it is so comfortable. Easiest mouse to ever use. Would highly recommend it.

Just does everything that an apple mouse should

    • Written by from Bristol

This mouse is just cool, I've only had it for a few weeks and I'm sure I don't know all of the gestures just yet but it really is a great mouse. I use this with my macbook pro and find it to be a great addition. Don't expect it to fit in your palm as it just won't, you need to use it with your fingers. The thing that sold it to me was the difference in scrolling down the 5k Mac webpage in the store with one of these mice and then doing it at home on my PC. The user experience is just superior with this mouse.

As for battery life, it has lasted me 4 charges of my macbook pro retina and is still going which I think is pretty good. when they run out I'll use rechargeables so not a problem

Awesome mouse, would have got 5 stars if the battery life was a bit better. Other than that its great!

    Ideal for carpal tunnel syndrome

    • Written by from Kings Lynn

Surely designed to keep carpal tunnel surgeons in business? I wanted the mouse to succeed but after a few days use, painful hand and arm symptoms appeared. Returned to my old Dell wired mouse - symptoms went away. Tried Magic Mouse once again - they returned. The most un-ergonomic and painful to use mouse ever. Avoid if you think you are at all susceptible to RSI/CTS.

    Great product

    • Written by from FARNBOROUGH

I've owned a Magic Mouse for 5 years now and can honestly say its a great product. Never had an issue with connectivity to our iMac. As for the batteries, I purchased the re-chargable kit that Apple sell and they are still going strong after 5 years. Our Son has been using the iMac with the magic mouse since he was 3 years old and gets on with it without any issues. I also own a trackpad but thats a different review i Guess.
Apple products maybe slightly on the expensive side but built quality is 1st class.

love it - but the battery life.....

    • Written by from London

It is a beautiful piece of kit and I find it very pleasant to use, the scrolling by finger tip is excellent, and it is far better than wireless mice used for other computers. But - the battery life is poor, and batteries must be replaced when voltage falls to 1.35 volts, which means they are still serviceable in flash guns or flashlights. Most rechargeable batteries are of little use because they only deliver about 1.36 volts when fully charged. However, I will try Apple batteries and charger

A superb design ... just not the greatest ever!

    • Written by from Farnborough

This wireless mouse is absolutely superb. The only downside is the changing of the batteries. I know that Scandinavian design thinking produces beautiful results. However, we need to consider the practicalities of use. As ever, quality is excellent ... still some to do!

    nice to use...if it works

    • Written by from London

Just had my third magic mouse in a row fail on me. Always the same - starts disconnecting frequently until eventually won't connect at all, then won't even stay on. I think there must be a weak electrical connection inside as it seems to be a power issue (and yes, I've tried changing the batteries). Next time I'll get a wired mouse.

    nice functionality, horrible mouse

    • Written by from Norwich

This mouse has some nice features - the gesture support works well (except for the two finger side scrolling which I can't make my hand do!) and the thoughtfulness of it working for left and right hand users. It performs well, and I have no issues with the responsiveness.

However, it a terrible mouse to use for any time because it's so uncomfortable. It's too narrow to grip comfortably with my fingers, and it's too low to grip with my palm. If you have small hands this might be a great mouse for you.

I wish Apple would realise that people have different size hands and make these in a range of sizes.

    Comfortably ambidextrous

    • Written by from Purley

Been using mine since 2009 with iMac. As a left hander I find it perfectly comfortable.

Have been using various mice since late 90s and this is one of the best.

As for battery life, get NiMH 2000+ mAH rechargeables. I don't switch my mouse off and it's at least a couple of weeks between charges for general surfing and these batteries are now old.

For the price should be better than this

    • Written by from HILTON

Connected, disconnected. Jerky, unresponsive, disconnected, connected, disconnected, disconnected, ...

When paying 60 quid for a mouse you'd expect to get something that actually works reliably. The battery compartment is badly designed and the batteries seem loose all the time. The bottom battery cover also falls off every time I smash the thing against the desk in frustration.

    Not worth the cash...

    • Written by from NORTHAMPTON

The Magic Mouse is a great product in novelty terms, but the robustness and longevity of use is poor. I have had my mouse for several years and regularly had issues with bluetooth disconnect. Finally I got so frustrated with the disconnect every 20 seconds, followed by a period of 2 secs of no connection, then a reconnect that I have completely stopped using the product. Apple support advised that once the one year warranty was up there was nothing they could do that wouldn't come at a cost... I expect a mouse to last for several years when it comes with a £59 price tag... I would be better off with a £5 USB.

    Terrible

    • Written by from Newtown

Get the mouse, used it for 2 minutes. Put it back in the ox and returned it to Apple the same day. Its sticky to use when trying the gestures and doesn't fit in the hand properly. Its really awkward to use. The trackpad is so much better.

    completely useless

    • Written by from Telford

Its heavy, BIG and cumbersome. It does not like any surface and lets you feel all the bumps on whatever surface you run it over. Its loud as it scrapes across most surfaces, unless you use a mouse mat in which case the mouse is so heavy it just moves the mouse mat underneath. And the worst feature is that you just cant move the cursor with any accuracy. You need to set the mouse speed to max which is still to slow and if you try to make small movements quickly it tracks extremely slow. When you start your mac or open from sleep it takes forever to find the mouse before it connects. Oh and the price is stupid.

    I returned this mouse

    • Written by from Belfast

This mouse looks very pretty, but 1) it's too flat so makes my hand ache 2) it's not as precise as a generic mouse so one spends much time trying to get the pointer exactly above say a small button, 3) owing to the touch feature, all kinds of unexpected events take place once you move your fingers by just a wee bit while moving the mouse around (on linux/KDE), and 4) given its high price I would not have expected points 1-3 to happen.

Rather infuriating - too clever for itself

    • Written by from Ampthill

I have had this for some years and increasingly dislike it. It cannot be customised to stop jumping between windows, and it does it incontinently. Touch the wretched the thing and I find myself staring at something I don't want to be working on. Really poor for things like photo editing which require a lot of mouse use - it's a complete waste of time when it jumps to a new screen. I have a magic trackpad which I use mostly to get back to the window I want to be on.

After having used the mouse for an year I can easily say that it's awesome!!
At the beginning I was skeptical and really used to the trackpad that I loved, but now I cannot work without it!!!
