    Best Mouse yet

    • Written by from Malvern

I tended to be put off by some of the derogatory comments made about this mouse but I've used it for a few days now and I'm very impressed. It is responsive and doesn't move around on the desktop when using the finger swipe surface unlike some other touch sensitive mice I have used. As with all Apple products it does seem expensive but I think worth the extra. The Mobee charger compliments it nicely too.
I particularly like the Inertia option.
    A nice piece of kit.

    Avoid this product.

    • Written by from UUSIKAUPUNKI

The title should emphasize my message. Do not acquire this product. You'll be sorely let down.

First of all. Ergonomics are totally wrong. They have been sacrificed on the altar of nice shape. My hand is totally broken using this product.

Second of all. This might be my personal preference but, the motion sensor of the mouse is positioned on the top of the mouse bottom. This means that all the mouses that I have used since 1994 which have had either ball, infrared or laser in the middle of the mouse will feel weird. Actually I never got used to the Magic Mouse. The motion just feels bad.

The touch sensitive surface is a good innovation but not practical. Usually I just end up touching it by accident and end up scrolling somewhere that I do not want to.

Conclusion, if you have ever before used a mouse do not buy this. It'll not be worth it.

Besides my Macbook Pro, this is the best thing i have ever brought! If you have big hands & find a trackpad too fiddly, get this! Its ideal for scrolling in Logic Pro, i love it!!

I love my new mouse! At first, I was a bit skeptical as I'd had bad experiences with wireless mice for PCs and the reviews for this Apple Magic Mouse weren't good (I have no idea why!). It was so easy to install - I just followed the instructions and it took less than 2 minutes, and it was great that I could pick and choose the gestures that i wanted in order to control my mouse. I love the design and it is lightweight and responsive. The battery life is also amazing - I accidentally left it on overnight and it STILL had 98% battery! (This was with standard batteries too, I plan on getting the Apple battery pack soon.) My mum is a brand new Mac user, she borrowed mine and also found it easy to install and use and is planning on getting her own. Another great product from Apple :)

    A Total Disaster

If you enjoy having to replace batteries every few months, enjoy having periods where the mouse loses connection..... then buy this mouse. Like Apple Maps it is a heap of overpriced rubbish.

I find this to be a very comfortable mouse to use with great functionality. I have used it at work for more than a year with a mac pro and it did sometimes disconnect, however with my macbook pro I don't have this problem at all and I am very pleased with it.

-It does drain batteries, but you use it a lot and its wireless... I don't understand why people are surprised by this??
-People who complain about functionality simply don't know how to set it up correctly.
-If it is connecting to other computers, you aren't using it right.
    -Better with laptops and desktops.

    Great Mouse

    • Written by from Lowestoft

We have had this mouse now for well over a year and are very happy with it! Once we put some decent batteries into it we have had seamless mousing for months on end. We use the mouse relatively often and have yet to change the batteries from the new ones we put in shortly after buying!

This is a great Mouse! love it!

    Best mouse I've used

    • Written by from Brighton

Mine came with my Mac Pro in June and I've become pretty used to it. My initial experience was of jerky and slowish tracking and loss of BT connection but these problems went when the batteries supplied were changed for good rechargeable ones (Uniross Premium Hybrio precharged, if anyone is interested, though I'm sure some other's will be as good), which have lasted for over two months or so without recharging.

The sensitivity to gestures is very good, although sensitivity to unintended touches can be a bit annoying at times (e.g. sudden changes in page position). Otherwise I've had no problem at all getting used to the light touch needed rather than it fitting into my hand like most other mouses.

    the worst mouse

    • Written by from Twickwnham

I paid a lot of money to this mouse, however, I would suggest you to buy with the cable one. It is impossible to do designs on my MAC with this mouse. First, it disconnects often even if you have 100% battery. Second, it is not ergonomic at all. It is difficult to do right and left clicks. Third, battery goes very quick and you need to spend money for batteries over and over or battery charger.

Please do not buy this mouse. It is waste of money. You will be regret, trust me. Therefore, I will buy cheaper version with the cable one.

The Magic Mouse is not good - it's definitely giving me serious hand pain at work! The scrolling action and sensitivity hurt my hand and wrist, and I'm sure I've had more arm and back pain since I started using one. They eat batteries like nobody's business, too.

There's also an issue with them connecting to different iMacs sometimes. I often have to swap mine with a colleague's.

    Gorgeous mouse with great functionality

    • Written by from waterlooville

Got this yesterday to go with my Mac Mini and I took it like a duck to water. Was using a Microsoft mouse as a stop gap but this is much better. I love the extra functionality and was missing the back button using the Microsoft mouse with the Mac but now I swipe backwards and forwards with ease and zoom and all is groovy.

Others complain that it does stuff without asking it too and that it's too low to comfortably fit the palm of your hand. As far as I can see it's not meant too! I hold it with my thumb one side and my ring and pinky on the other with with my middle and index finger hovering above - perfect.

Bottom line is that it tracks well, the whole surface can scroll, and click and zoom and it gives the Mac the feel of an iPad or iPhone which is where I've come from so I love it.

Never had such a poor experience with such an expensive mouse

    • Written by from bromley

Got this home one morning after trip to Apple Store and tried for ages to sync with MacBook. Eventually I opened the back to remove batteries and try my own, only to find the batteries included with the mouse had leaked and rendered mouse useless. Not impressed! Had to jump in car and spend another two hours travelling to shop, parking and exchanging it. Poor experience!

    A big disappointment

    • Written by from Helsinki

I expected much more from this mouse. Firstly, I was disappointed that the tracking speed couldn't be set to be (much) higher, since I'm used to having a much more sensitive mouse, which requires far less wrist movement.

Secondly, it is really irritating that the slower the mouse is moved, the cursor starts to move IMPOSSIBLY slowly. This is especially painful when navigating menus, for example, when the mouse speed is typically slower than average.

I don't know if other brands' wireless mice work with mac computers, but if they do, I would recommend them 100%.

It's nice to have some gestures that can be performed on the mouse, like on the trackpad. But that hardly matters when Apple haven't even got the basics right and there's no way to change these settings. Big disappointment.

Great for the MacBook, not great for the iMac

    • Written by from Cathair na Mart

I like the Magic Mouse, especially its built-in trackpad. When I travel with it (and the spare batteries and charger for safety's sake), it works great next to my MacBook Pro. But at home where i have an iMac and Thunderbolt display, I find the tracking is just too slow and unreliable to zip the cursor from the right edge of the right screen to the left edge of the other. I tried looking in settings for anything that would improve this... but at home I'm just using the wired Mighty Mouse because it performs better. For travelling, though, the Magic Mouse is... magic.

Using this mouse nearly a year and never had any issues or problems with it. Never had dropped connection or so. Very comfortable, very sensitive, nice looking mouse. Ok,the battery life might be bit better, but is not that bad as some people are saying. My one lasts about 5-6 weeks, which is not very bad. Overall would recommend this mouse to every mac user. It worth every single cent for it. Trully magical mouse

It seems such a great idea and looks good - but otherwise disappointing kit for someone who needs to be productive on a macbook. I tried to get used to this for a long time but tracking is poor and imprecise, movement is jerky, ergonimics are awkward, click noise is quite loud - and it regularly loses connection to the macbook. I use professional graphics and dev software and find this mouse a real frustration. Back to USB Microsoft mouse..

Utter garbage. As always with apple, it looks lovely. And then, after a while... sigh.

It drains the batteries like apple had shares in Duracell. It collects so much grime from a constantly cleaned desk that it's starting to make me paranoid. The bottom battery cover plate has buckled and is now mis-shapen. If you accidentally tap the mouse against the side of your keyboard or something else on your desk it loses it's wi-fi connection and takes an age to find it again...

Thank god I got it free with my iMac because I threw the ruddy thing in the bin and I'm using my wacom mouse now. Good riddance to it too. You'd be gutted if you paid 70 quid for it.

It's got two stars because the scroll function is nice. That's about it.

Much better than the mighty mouse or the trackpad

    • Written by from LONDON

This is a truly superb piece of kit.

Plus it doesn't clog up like that little ball on the old mighty mouse !

Really impressed , plus it is beautifully made and is incredibly beautifully designed - typical Apple brilliance I guess. :)
