Its lovely except it gives you RSI!

Finally a step forward in the evolution of the mouse, great idea.

Trouble is its too shallow so you end up clawing your hand to grip it where instead your palm rests on a (good) traditional mouse.

Still it appears everyone else loves it so perhaps I'm deformed... (wouldn't be the first time) Try it yourself because if you can cope with the shape its a great functional advance.

    Great mouse

    • Written by from Douglas

I love the look, feel and functionality of the Magic Mouse. The only thing I would like it to have in addition to the current features is the 'pinch' like on the iPhone and MacBook Pro trackpad. Otherwise I'm completely happy with this fantastic product. Well done Apple - keep the innovations coming.

The best mouse I ever owned

    • Written by from Cork

I love this mouse in every way.

The design is absolutely stunning and feels great in the hand.

Scrolling a window or a web page is an entirely new experience due to the mouse's silky smooth shell and touch surface. This mouse feels right in every way.

There is nothing I would add or dare take away - it's simply perfect. This is the best Apple mouse ever and the best mouse I have ever owned.

Kudos to Apple for a terrific, dare I say perfect product!

    I am not convinced

    • Written by from DERBY

I expect that Apple will improve on this device. However I have a few gripes at present.
Firstly when swiping with two fingers I have to hold the mouse down with the other hand to stop it moving.
The tracking is not as responsive as the Mighty Mouse either.
When scrolling it sometimes fails to recognise the finger movement.

While it looks great and removes the tangled mouse wire issue it is nowhere near a 5 star yet

    Wow!

This mouse is amazing ;) It takes a bit of getting used to but once it clicks (excuse the pun) you will never look back... If only it would work with my work PC as well.

    Stunning!

    • Written by from DEAL

I was a bit put off by some reviews so, instead of buying online, I waited to check out a Magic Mouse at the Apple Store. I was hooked from first touch and, although it took a day or two to get used to the flatter design, it now seems strange if I have to use the Mighty Mouse on hubby's computer. My advice - buy one now!

    Style+Substance...Simply Magic!

    • Written by from Bristol

The Magic Mouse really lives up to its name. At first i was really reluctant to buy, reading comments by people saying that tracking speed is really slow while the design is uncomfortable. Well, let me tell you. Do not plainly believe and try it for yourself at an Apple store. There are absolutely no problems and the mouse works wonderful and the design is class and comfy. And you can customise this 'little magician'- as i prefer to call it by downloading the software 'MagicPrefs' available for free from the Apple downloads site. You can even increase the tracking speed to up to 200% of the original (to those who really need SPEED) and customise many taps and swipe styles that you would like. You can even have the Expose functionality (yes, contrary to popular belief-thanks to the Apple Store Genius Staff in Bristol for telling me this). In short, its simply the best mouse i've ever had both functionally and ergonomically. To anyone thinking of buying, i would advise you to go for it and experience the Magic rather than resorting to the same old two buttoned 'lifeless' mice out there.

Beautiful, Elegant and very Sci Fi

    • Written by from London

At first I was very reluctant in going back to Apple's design of mouse'. The truth is that for years I loved their design, but weren't very good at all.

They failed in making a mouse that was truly usable other than for the simple browsing and point and click stuff.

For animators, photoshop users it wasn't the best so like them I too left their mouse behind and went for Logitech.

I'll say this, it may still not be for the hardcore, but it's good for most computer operations and it is a joy to use.

This is by far the best mouse apple has made.

Try it before you buy it though, not everyone will like the design and will feel it's a bit too flat etc.

But for me it's perfect as it is.

    Absolutely amazing

I am an avid gamer and used the best mice including the Razer Death addder and Razer Mamba. Recently I got the magic mouse for my macbook air and I must admit its the best I have ever used. The whole package is awesomme, the touch controls, tracking precision and the ergonomics ofcourse. I would recommend this to anyone who has got a macbook. This mouse is ages ahead of its peers, it even beats the mighty mouse. Get it guys, you wont regret it.

Quality in the palm of your hand

    • Written by from Ashford

I never usually write reviews, however I felt compelled to say that this is by far the best feeling mouse I have used for a very long time. It is slightly on the thin side compared to the mighty mouse, however, once you get past the initial weird feeling (which passes very quickly may I add), you could not imagine using anything else.

Well done apple on this great looking, feeling, functional mouse.

    Mac Pro incompatible

    • Written by from WOKING

Tried to use this on my Bluetooth enabled Mac Pro, and also on my other Mac Pro which has a bluetooth dongle. Works beautifully for 30 seconds and then goes all sluggish and unusable. Tried all the different remedies, but I think that these mice do not like Mac Pro's. Mac Genius guy didn't tell me THAT ONE!!!!

    What a disappointment

    • Written by

I wanted to like it but my warm hands make it far too responsive and it skitters all over the place. But worse, it refuses to work on anything but a really rough surface and I have to hold that down with my other hand. I need three hands! I've gone back to my trusty Logica which works on anything and lets me enjoy my computer.

    A great mouse

    • Written by from Brighton

Although this mouse has got some bad press because it's not ergonomic enough, what do you expect? To incorporate the touch/gesture technology it has to be the way it is.

It is incredibly flat and it will take a while to get used to but once you have, you'll love it.
For gaming it's terrible as left and right clicks/holds are often misinterpreted but I expected that and didn't buy it with the intentions to use it for games.

In summary this is another great, innovative mouse for general home-office use and worth the £56

    Beautiful to touch

    • Written by from LOUGHBOROUGH

Took awhile to get used to as it is a little flat, but once you give it a chance and get used to it the way the touch sensitive top works is just divine.

I've never liked the mac mouses and i've always used a 3rd party 2 button laser mouse, but i love this.

    Apple, you got this right.

Mouse ok if you haven't used mighty mouse

    • Written by from leigh

I bought this mouse thinking that it would be off high standard and better, i had the old mighty mouse before this and it was much better, the mighty mouse had side buttons which allowed you to view screens easily this doesn't and takes a lot longer to do what you needed to do. also the price tag of £56 if steep. It is a clever mouse just missing the side buttons.
