Expose, dashboard, middle click, and MUCH MORE

    • Written by from London

People complaining about expose and middle clicks, go download "MagicPref", it gives you the choice of one finger middle axis click. 2 finger click, 3 finger click, 4 finger click, swipe, tap, etc etc. you get to customise the clicks with about, I don't know, a million functions.

And yes, it's free. A simple google search for 'MagicPref" would give you the site/download.

    Mighty Magic Mouse

    • Written by from Lockerbie

Only had this a short while and I love it, slides very smoothly, feels very slick, good weight and scrolls better than any mouse I've used before.
Expose is easy to set up, just set the secondary click as right button in mouse preferences and then set secondary mouse button in expose preferences for all windows etc and Bobs your uncle.
Overall, a great mouse, go buy one, you know you want too........

    Brilliant

    • Written by from NOTTINGHAM

Really pleased with it... i use it for about 5/6 hours every day.. i have used the batteries that came with the mouse and they still have 69% life left and i have used it for 6 hours every day since christmas day 09! So the battery life is fantastic... the touch of it is really well designed, and to scroll down you just slide your finger down the mouse... it is fantastic and wonderful christmas present.!

    Oh.. the relief!!!

    • Written by from Haddington

After struggling with the trackball on the mighty mouse for ages I was so keen to get this mouse. I was put off by the lack of expose built in but decided to go for it after hearing about magicprefs.

The mouse is rather flat but I suspect that is to prevent you resting your hand on it and activating the touch features all the time. I dont find it a problem for general use but might be uncomfortable if you use the mouse all the time.

Once you have magicprefs installed there is many options for features like expose and the transition has not been difficult at all. I like the option to open quickview with a tap on the apple logo as well.

Overall this is a big step up from the mighty mouse but only with magic prefs installed. It works so nicely I only wonder why apple didnt do this themselves. Still enjoying smooth scrolling after all the misery with the trackball mighty mouse.

    Magic eclipses Mighty into oblivion...

    • Written by from Bourne End

If this is your first taste of 'touch technology' for those without prior experience of an iPhone or iPod Touch then prepare to be smitten! Simply glorious, intuitive and gorgeously sleek - this is a mouse beyond compare. If you are fortunate enough to already have an iPhone or iPod Touch then you are simply to experience the world in your hand when sat at a computer...

Apple you have done it again - I do not miss Expose or Dashboard at the misclick of my right hand - simply marvellous.

    So Far - SO GOOD

    • Written by from Derby

Had this a week now and I've got to say so far - so good. It works perfect and feels nice. I love the swipe feature for navigating through web pages and the scroll feature without a wheel.

The whole look and feel of it is excellent. And despite a week of hard work, my battery meter is still showing 100%

My only suggestion would be that for £56.00 I would of liked some form of case to protect it when travelling.

Huge improvement on the Mighty Mouse

    • Written by from Norwich

I replaced my Mighty Mouse with a Magic Mouse a couple of days ago and I am stunned by the improvement! The Magic Mouse is so much more responsive and very comfortable to use.

It also looks incredibly stylish, is very slim and well made.

It is definitely worth the money!

    Great all rounder

    • Written by from Benfleet

For me this mouse is a great all rounder. The full touch surface is much nicer to use than the old scroll wheel and the right click is a lot more reliable. The mouse runs a lot smoother on my desk with just the two rails which I can imagine will collect less dirt as well. The mouse also has a very nice fit and feel in my hand. Some reviews have mentioned the lack of expose but I never set the mighty mouse up for that as I found my self accidentally applying pressure and causing it to trigger.

    Best of the lot!

    • Written by from LEEDS

This mouse is, for me, perfection.
I operate it to full advantage in space not big enough for a mouse-mat, and am delighted to be able to scroll and change pages by sweeping finger/s up, down and across the top of this trademark Apple beauty.
Then there's the added facility of being able to set it for right-click operation .......
A joy to own and operate!
    Cannot fault it.

    Not just a mouse

    • Written by from London

This is by far the most comfortable mouse I've used. No scroll wheel to clog up, makes browsing easy peasy. This is not just a mouse, it's a life style choice.

    A real apple moment

    • Written by from Gloucester

Unlike many other reviewers I really did have an apple moment.

The mouse is extremely comfortable, my mighty mouse has been consigned to the cupboard. I love the weight, not too heavy not too light. The only gripe I have is it's not rechargeable and if it's anything like my wireless mighty mouse it'll eat batteries like there's no tomorrow.

    Superb!

    • Written by from Preston

I got this today and was a bit wary as some people were not too happy with it...

Well, it works for me and is the best mouse I have ever owned!

The swipe gestures make navigating the web quick and easy and the sensitivity, tracking, feel and look of the mouse is just spot on!

I really hope that more gestures are developed for this but even at its most basic level now, it's a definite thumbs up!

    Couldn't live without it!

    • Written by from København NV

When it was first released I thought WOW.... And for a very good reason... It's the perfect mouse for me.

Defiantly better than the mighty mouse.

The biggest improvement was off cause the wheel function. It scrolls so smoothly and precise.

    Touch Functionality at Your Mac

    • Written by from RAMSGATE

Buttons, it seems, are on the way out of fashion. If you have a touchscreen iPhone etc. I think you'll love this mouse- finally touch functionality on a mouse which requires only soft, less stressful gestures.

I hated the original Mighty Mouse which came with my iMac and have been using an unsightly Microsoft one ever since- I needed a right click and a scroll wheel! Migrating to a smaller desk required less cables, and I have been searching for a decent wireless mouse ever since. Despite it's higher price tag the Magic Mouse is well worth the money- why not sooner Apple?

A word of advice- even if you manually check for updates as the Quick Start Guide suggests I still had to find the software update for my OS (Leopard) and download it manually to make use of the Magic Mouse's touch features. Unfortunately Apple's website search did not bring up the update but a quick Google of "Apple Magic Mouse update" took me straight to the Apple download pages for either Snow Leopard or Leopard for required update.

Also, for users who are more creative, this mouse works absolutely splendidly on Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. Particularly useful for gliding around zoomed in workspaces- I've found holding Alt+Command and scrolling forward or back zooms in and out wonderfully on these programmes. 5 Star!

    My best mouse yet!!!

    • Written by from Rotherham

I have always been wary of trying new stuff, especially computer mice. This one has certainly won me over! It is fully responsive and will make surfing the net, iTunes and email a snap! Only a fraction of the time is now used to glide to anything you want to do or see. The Magic mouse is so easy to set up. Mine was set up within 30 seconds! The slim design belies the fact that it takes two AA batteries (included). Thank you Apple for a truly superb mouse. Every Mac owner should have one!

Great Product Idea Thats Well Executed

    • Written by from Dunfermline

Ever had the problem of the sticky roller ball in the old mouse?, scrolling the button did nothing.... arrrrggghhh, pressing down on that small grey button to "clean" it, as instructed by Apple help?. Well its all gone now, the magic mouse works really well, its not clunky, touching the top of the mouse means you can scroll just as easily and delicately as before, there are also some gestures for right mouse clicking and scrolling through pictures and documents, all in all a very worthwhile upgrade, Im very pleased with it.
