    Comfortably ambidextrous

    • Written by from Purley

Been using mine since 2009 with iMac. As a left hander I find it perfectly comfortable.

Have been using various mice since late 90s and this is one of the best.

As for battery life, get NiMH 2000+ mAH rechargeables. I don't switch my mouse off and it's at least a couple of weeks between charges for general surfing and these batteries are now old.

    FANTASTIC!!!

After having used the mouse for an year I can easily say that it's awesome!!
At the beginning I was skeptical and really used to the trackpad that I loved, but now I cannot work without it!!!

Fantastic mouse. It can be set up as complicated or as simple as you wish. I do not understand the poor reviews on here. My only thought; you must have bought a dud or a copy.
I was a little unsure considering the price but its well worth it. Buy it.

    Great Mouse

    • Written by from Birmingham

This mouse is a difficult mouse to get used to. It took me about 2 days to grasp its full potential as it was so different to what I was used to using. But alas, once I finally mastered it, I have not used another mouse since. Its battery life is fantastic and frankly, it is one of the best mouses I have ever used. As I said. It is a difficult mouse to master but trust me, just be patient. It is well worth it and you won't be disappointed!

    Good buy

    • Written by from Ystradgynlais

Bought one along with an Apple wireless keyboard for use with my Mac Mini. Mouse is sleek and good looking and easy to use. You can customise the functions, I just have right and left click and scroll, but other options are available in settings. Personally I find that things are lot smoother than they were with my generic USB mouse.

    Give it time!

    • Written by from Louth

Be patient with getting to know how the mouse works, it will soon become the best mouse you've ever used! Flawless design that lets you do more than enough using simple gestures. Battery life did become a bit of a pain but i soon fixed that by using a magic charger or Apple rechargeable batteries.

Remember its like buying your first Mac again, at first you don't know how anything worked, but it soon became the best decision of your life!

    Peace!

    Perfect mouse for left handers

    • Written by from Ealing

Actually I'm ambidextrous and like to share the use between left and right hand to avoid arm strain. I found this Mouse a little strange at first but quickly got used to it. This Mouse is perfect because I don't have to make any adjustments other than to move the mouse from the left to right hand side. No complaints at all.

    Excellent!

    • Written by from Bromley

Me and my wife we are using magic mouses for a year.
We are using them to work at home, not for gaming.
There is no better mouse to work! Gestures are great addition to basic functionality.
Battery life is ok for us. I know that some people complains on short battery life, but years ago i was using logitech air mouse and in logitech one full charging gives only 4 days of working. So apple's one is not so bad as other people are writing :)

    Excellent

    • Written by from Cramlington

Brilliant, very accurate, very comfortable, very configurable. Last week I replaced my recently-deceased PC with a Mac and got the wireless magic mouse included. I am used to an expensive (UK £100 or thereabouts) Logitech wireless keyboard and mouse on the PC. The mouse in my PC system had separate buttons for forward, back, open browser, zoom +/-, scroll, left click, right click, etc. including a scroll wheel with a left and right nudge function. It took ages to get to grips with all the buttons on the Logitech, but I did eventually love it, and I thought I couldn't live without it when it died along with my PC. But after a week or so, in my opinion, the Apple mouse feels way more intuitive, way cleverer, and way prettier of course. And does everything the expensive Logitech did, and I think more, but with less visible buttons etc.. And seems more accurate, to me. And I learnt how to use it seamlessly, intuitively, quickly, efficiently, without thinking, within a couple of days. IMHO Anyone who tells you this isn't a great useable device is probably a mac-hater here to diss Apple in favour of some cr*ppy pc. I, on the other hand, will never ever go back.

from a lifelong pc user to starting with a mac, this mouse is brilliant

    • Written by from Croydon

I've only been using this mouse for a few days and it is brilliant. It's fast, responsive, has useful features and feels great. I love the ease with which I can scroll, zoom etc. I've been a lifelong windows user and only just got a macbook pro- and it's great. I've used a lot of mice with windows (logitech, microsoft, kensington... windows 8 mice, scrolling mice, rollerballs, ... And this mac mouse is a lot better. It is different to a windows mouse, I'm using it almost more like a mix between a trackpad (being able to use gestures on the back) and a mouse- so the flatness relative to PC mice (which have to fit more into my cupped hand, and don't provide trackpad style usage) is great.

    Absolutely brilliant!

    • Written by from Torquay

After reading some of the other reviews on here, that go from complaints about the battery life to the absurd complaint that the apple mouse is "too flat", I just had to review.

I only recently became a proper user of Apple products, after spending years using Toshiba/Samsung in my laptops. But a few months ago when my Samsung packed in, I took the plunge and bought a MacBook Pro. I've had no problems with the trackpad that comes built in, but upon finally installing Sims 3 on my Mac, I discovered I would need a proper mouse to play it. After having no success getting my MacBook to read my old PC mouse, I went and bought an Apple Magic Mouse.

It was easy to connect, found instantly by my Macbook and I absolutely love it! For those complaining that it moves too quickly or is too sensitive, that can be altered in system preferences under mouse and then adjust the tracking bar to the speed that's comfortable to you.

It is easy to use, comfortable in my hand and feels much more natural than holding a clunky PC mouse, it's smooth, easy to use and great for me. - As an added note, I do have small thin hands, so my palm fits very snugly around the mouse.

As an avid user of trackpads, I always hated the idea of using a mouse after converting to using a laptop. But this has completely changed my perspective. It's easy to use and I love the easy of scrolling with it. As for the other complaints about the AA batteries not lasting long enough, in my opinion if you can spend out that much money on a mouse, it's fairly straightforward to buy yourself rechargeable AA batteries from a supermarket for £6 that come with a plug in charger and 4-6 batteries so you can always have ones ready to use. That is if you don't want to buy an Apple rechargeable battery/charging dock for it.

So for anyone who is on the fence, go into an Apple store and try it! But from my experience, definitely buy it. I've tried and tested other brands before ending up with Apple and I cannot fault their quality. Take the plunge and buy one!

    Nice mouse

    • Written by from Bodmin

Am still getting used to this device but have to say that it is growing on me. Battery life is good but am buying rechargeables so don't have to worry buying new...... Couple of niggles...... when doing 'fine' work, the screen moves up/down without my input.... perhaps it's me and 'fat thumb' syndrome but it's a tad sensitive.....and it could have been designed a bit fatter and rounder to sit in the palm better... But best of all, I don't have to worry about the 'ball' getting furred up and wasting £35 on a new one every 18 months...

    ABSOLUTELY GREAT

    • Written by from Princes risbourough

This mouse is perfect. I bought this mouse a nearly 2 weeks ago now and it has been great! i don't see what everyone is on about with the battery because I still haven't even used 1 percent yet. All the gestures work perfectly and it they are easy to get used to. I bought this for my MacBook pro Retina display and it is the easiest thing to set up, you just turn the mouse on and the Mac does the rest really.

    A definite buy!

    The perfect mouse!

    • Written by from Wellingborough

Before purchasing this mouse I read through the reviews, and listened to other peoples opinions; despite majority of them were negative I proceeded to purchase one anyway.

I find the mouse very comfortable, very easy to use swiping gestures however are difficult to perform, and quite uncomfortable. That said, battery life is still impressive but I suppose i've not really used it long enough to determine this. Set-up took seconds, but for a unix-based os you'd expect this.

    Great Mouse, Works Very Well

    • Written by from Frome

After reading a lot of the reviews here I'm very confused frankly ...

I bought mine 3 weeks ago to go with my MacBook Pro. I'm a HEAVY user and with the supplied batteries I still have 93% power left in them and they are NOT high capacity batteries, just a set of standard Enegizer jobbies. I have a fistful of very high 2400ma ones that I'm going to start using with this and they should last for months on end.

I have several small Logitech wireless mice that I use with my PC and they EAT batteries in comparison to the MagicMouse.

I have only noticed the mouse disconnect twice in all the time I've been using it so no complaints there either.

In short I love it, it's VERY functional and works EXACTLY as described

    Best Mouse yet

    • Written by from Malvern

I tended to be put off by some of the derogatory comments made about this mouse but I've used it for a few days now and I'm very impressed. It is responsive and doesn't move around on the desktop when using the finger swipe surface unlike some other touch sensitive mice I have used. As with all Apple products it does seem expensive but I think worth the extra. The Mobee charger compliments it nicely too.
I particularly like the Inertia option.
    A nice piece of kit.
