    remote & mic

    Written by DH from worksop

    08-Jan-2009

the remote and mic is great, it saves you going in your pocket to get your ipod out just to change the song and the sound is just the same as the normal one's but for the same price you gain the remote and mic and i think it's brilliant

    Simple and great!

    Written by GH from London

It is a great earphone using with my iTouch (2nd gen). Simple controls, more comfortable materials (less plastic feeling) and the same sound quality and for the SAME PRICE as before! The only thing: U need to be careful not to press the play button (no lock on it). I can just recommend it!

Good, but could have a longer cord.

    Written by HL from Oxford

The earphones are sensitive, and the remote is a great idea. I have been waiting for these to be available for ages. I use them with my 2nd gen iPod touch and they are good. The reason that I bought these was to have my ipod in my bag, but still be able to change the music. The reason that I have not given these five stars is that they do not have much length in them, and they do not work with my earphone extenders. On their own they do not have much slack in the cord. If they came with or even sold these extenders then I would give five stars.

These work with the iPhone too!

Written by GP from BOGNOR REGIS

    13-Feb-2009

I've always used Apple headphones with my Apple products, but when these came out I was disappointed that it said they weren't compatible with the iPhone. However, when my iPhone headset's driver went in the right earplug, I thought, well, I can't hurt to try.
The remote looked much cooler than the one on the iPhone headset and I was worried that it wouldn't work with the iPhone, but it actually does!
The only thing that doesn't work is the volume controls but the main button and the mic work wonderfully. And, that doesn't really matter, as the iPhone has volume control buttons on the side of the phone, and even with my thick wooly gloves on, I can still change the volume on the phone when it's in my pocket.

Definitely a great buy for iPhone and iPod users!

    Disappointing fit and sound

    Written by MH from Banbury

    15-Feb-2009

Maybe these fit the ear of a large eared person very well. I, and plenty of others find them uncomfortable due the very large diameter of the bud.

I thought the sound quality was good until........ I plugged my cheap Sennheiser headphones into my iPhone this week and was blown away by the greatly improved quality. I wonder why it is that Apple don't quote the frequency response of these earphones on their website?

We are tied to these earphones because of their functionality, but really..........

    Great headphones

    Written by JE from OKEHAMPTON

Great headphones, with a good quality- Well worth the price and workes wonders with my iPod Touch (2nd gen).
Also they are comfy and fits my ears well.

The only thing i could say to improve them is for the edges of the remote to be smoother, because when i am listning to music, i tend to put the cable down my top so it doesn't get in the way...but the only thing is every now and again it catches you which doesn't hurt, just can be enoying and itchy... but still a great product!!

    Headphones with remote

    Written by LJ from Northampton

    28-Mar-2009

Useless product if you're using these headphones for any cardio / sports related use.

The remote functionality is nice but the headphones constantly fall out so become extremely annoying to use.

Apple please make a sports version with some ear grips.

    Good, But Let Down...

    Written by JS from Bolton

By the fact that the little wire connector that keeps them in place falls off easily. other than that very good microphone and fits in the ears nicely, abit of rubbing if left in but nothing serious. Using these with the orcarina app is so much fun!

The delivery was fast and everything was in good condition as usual. the headphone quality was better than the standard ones but it's selling for the same price! remote function, works really well!. You may think that the mic is really small, but i call my cousin on skype and he said it was like being called from a local, and i was calling from the UK to Brunei! I just have one suggestion, pack this with the future ipods, please? :)

    Apple failed to disappoint!

    Remote catches on my collar!

    Written by JM from Woking

    16-Apr-2009

In terms of the sound quality and functionality, these are great - I've tried much more expensive branded headphones and always found the apple ones to be superior.
BUT apple, please please re-think the design of the remote control: it's positioned so that whenever I turn my head to the right, the remote catches on my collar and pulls the phone out of my right ear. It's really infuriating!

Are my ears the wrong size?

    Written by CR from Reading

    16-Apr-2009

These are the standard earphones issued with the new shuffle. I can't complain about the sound quality which is first class Apple, but sadly they keep falling out of my ears! Are my ears the wrong size or is this a badly designed product? One of the main selling points of a shuffle is that it is the ideal iPod for sports and exercise. Unfortunately these little guys can't even stay in my ears during a gentle walk home let alone when I start running! Apple should've made these with an ear wrap around to hold them firmly in place, but maybe this design flaw is deliberate in order to get peeps to buy the more expensive sports earphone products.

Apple, make a pair of sport headphones like the Sennheiser PMX 70 for the new shuffle and you will sell thousands of them, simple as.
The 3 combined are brilliant, i had modify them myself but they they work brilliantly the PMX 70 wired to the remote apple to the new Ipod shuffle, cant beat it.

    Good Solid Product

    Written by GR from Sevenoaks

    25-Apr-2009

The new Apple iPod heaphones are a vast improvement from the previous generation with their cheap, plastic feel. I am still a little concerned about the rubber bands around the headphones wearing off as it makes the piece extremly uncomfortable. Besides which, a good product. The Acoustics and Bass are bad either.

    Don't last very long

    Written by YW from SWINDON

    16-May-2009

Having owned both generations of the iPhone i have bought 5/6 pairs of these earphones. Despite the sound quality being good, the earphones don't last for more than half a year for me. Mainly its the mic which stops working and the skipping tracks/answering calls doesn't work as a result.

    Awful!

    Written by ME from Guildford

    19-May-2009

These a AWFUL headphones, a complete wast of time for anybody who is active. you cant run with them in your ears as they just work their way loose and they certainly are not sweat resistant. I have the new speaking shuffle I brought it for the gym but because of the lack of compatible and reasonably priced headphones for the new shuffle I wish I kept to the old style, the no controls on the new shuffle is a waste of time as with out these terrible headphones renders it practically useless!
I have been a fan of apple and there designs for as long as I can remember but these headphones are just not fit for purpose!

Apple should have thought of this.

    Written by AG from London

    20-May-2009

Right, first off, I want to say how much of a standard set of earphones these are, once you use them out of the box. It's just so STANDARD.

Then, the SECRET. Apparently, all you need to do is get some of the foams and voilà! Earphones that sound better than those entry-level in-ear types (CX300 EP-630 etc).

Apparently, what I found out was that when you put them in your ear, the ear phones do not transmit all the power. But with foam, it acts as a cushion, helps the earphones stay in the ear, and increases the quality of the sound/bass/treble by at least 300%.

I'm using Plantronics ear foams with them now and I'm not coming back. You can order differently coloured ones over the usual auction sites. :)

Most of all, it makes wearing them VERY COMFORTABLE. A must for those who listen at length.

I hope this was helpful guys.

    Fantastic!

    Written by JB from Stoke-on-Trent

These earphones are great. I prefer them to the in-ear version as they are not so anti-social! Being able to have your iPod in your pocket and control the volume and tracks is so much easier with the remote, and the microphone quality is surprisingly good with a very clear tone. These are a must have!
