Apple Earphones with Remote and Mic
Better than average phones - read the bonus info ;)

It really depends what you are looking for. These phones are not HiFi but for the price I think it's a good deal. The design is Apple all the way and the build quality is ok. Think they have started using better rubber, had the version from the first iPhone and they are lost all rubber and broke at the mic, these new ones seems more sturdy.
So one star build, one for sound, one for design and the last for price.
Easteregg: You can use them the new unibody Macbook and Macbook Pros to control iTunes playback and for talking in iChat.4 of 6 people found this useful

Good But do fall apart eventually.
Written by DH from Bude

I have had these ear-phones for about 6 months now and I have had no problems except the rubber frame stuck around the metal speaker has fallen off. Becides that these are really good headphones.
I am even more pleased that they work with my I-pod touch 2nd genaration's Skype app and voice memo app.
These are the prefect replacement to the old ear-phones that came with the I-pod touch (or any other Ipod) and i recommend them to every I-pod user.
Thanks for reading.5 of 5 people found this useful

Nice quality sound using them for my PSP at the moment. Trouble with falling out of my ears and my old pear fell to pieces, still very good earphones but a bit expensive for what you get

Review of Apple Earphones
Written by DH from Brighton
02-Oct-2009
After buying some new iPod earphones directly from the apple store in Brighton, i thought it would be a good idea to share my views on them.
First of all, fro £21 just for simple or-earphones it may seem like a lot of money however, for that, customers can expect apple's unique headphone style, an inline remote with microphone and slightly better sound quality than the headphones bundled with the original iPod/iPhone.
The inline remote works very well as you don't have to keep on getting out the iPod/iPhone to change the track. This defiantly saves on a lot of battery life as the screen is never lit up. With the ability to pause, play, skip, previous and increase/decrease the volume, most of the functions are on the remote. however, before you buy these: i bought these for my iPhone 2g, and the volume changer doesn't seem to have an impact on the actual volume coming through. this maybe because of a faulty product, however i have heard other people having this issue so its unlikely to be a faulty product.
Finally, i believe that these earphones give slightly better performance than the the original phones. this is only a slight increment, however it is noticeable. there is deeper bass which is defiantly a welcomed addition. this performance increase however may because of the constant use my old earphones got over a 6 month period. Either way, i would still say that they are marginally better.
So, to sum up, i personally believe that these earphones are worth the £21 price tag, however if you want alot better quality than the originals then look at shure, bose or sennheiser phones. 4*12 of 14 people found this useful

Amazing headphones if you take care of them
Written by DB

I got these headphones with the ipod shuffle 3rd gen and to start off the sound quality coming out of them was amazing. until I accidentally dropped them on the floor and my dog stepped on them and one of the earphones went loose a little bit so the bass rumbled it about so it made one side sound a bit rubbish. so if you buy them take care of them.

Good Solid Product
Written by GR from Sevenoaks

The new Apple iPod heaphones are a vast improvement from the previous generation with their cheap, plastic feel. I am still a little concerned about the rubber bands around the headphones wearing off as it makes the piece extremly uncomfortable. Besides which, a good product. The Acoustics and Bass are bad either.

Good, But Let Down...
Written by JS from Bolton

By the fact that the little wire connector that keeps them in place falls off easily. other than that very good microphone and fits in the ears nicely, abit of rubbing if left in but nothing serious. Using these with the orcarina app is so much fun!

These work with the iPhone too!
Written by GP from BOGNOR REGIS

I've always used Apple headphones with my Apple products, but when these came out I was disappointed that it said they weren't compatible with the iPhone. However, when my iPhone headset's driver went in the right earplug, I thought, well, I can't hurt to try.
The remote looked much cooler than the one on the iPhone headset and I was worried that it wouldn't work with the iPhone, but it actually does!
The only thing that doesn't work is the volume controls but the main button and the mic work wonderfully. And, that doesn't really matter, as the iPhone has volume control buttons on the side of the phone, and even with my thick wooly gloves on, I can still change the volume on the phone when it's in my pocket.
Definitely a great buy for iPhone and iPod users!38 of 48 people found this useful

Good, but could have a longer cord.
Written by HL from Oxford
31-Jan-2009
The earphones are sensitive, and the remote is a great idea. I have been waiting for these to be available for ages. I use them with my 2nd gen iPod touch and they are good. The reason that I bought these was to have my ipod in my bag, but still be able to change the music. The reason that I have not given these five stars is that they do not have much length in them, and they do not work with my earphone extenders. On their own they do not have much slack in the cord. If they came with or even sold these extenders then I would give five stars.

Simple and great!

It is a great earphone using with my iTouch (2nd gen). Simple controls, more comfortable materials (less plastic feeling) and the same sound quality and for the SAME PRICE as before! The only thing: U need to be careful not to press the play button (no lock on it). I can just recommend it!
