Works fine with all projectors that have a vga input

I am a professional in the video industry and I can tell you that I have used a macbook Pro with countless video projectors out there. And this adapter will work just fine. If you have problems with the projector look into the menus of the projector to find the vga input. The problem is most definitely not the adapter (as long as it's not defect of course).

This does work with data projectors

Don't be put off by previous reviews saying this adapter doesn't work with data projectors. I've tried it with my new MacBook Pro and can confirm it works with at least 3 different brands of data projector cnnected via VGA type (3 rows of 5 pin) connectors. There may have been a problem, presumably now fixed.

Bought this for a Sony monitor which it works perfectly with.

I thought I'd give it a go on my Samsung TV. With my original cable that I had for my TV it would not work, so I checked the pins in the cable. I noticed there was one missing which was not missing in my Sony cable. When I use the cable with all pins it works perfectly with my Samsung TV.

Make sure you have a full compliments of pins in your VGA lead is my advise and you are unlikely to have any problems.

    It works - always...

I deliver training programmes round the world in all sorts of venues. Projectors provided by hotels, conference centres or client meeting rooms always have a VGA connection (never a Mac port) and, in the last four years, my MacBook has always connected without problems using this adaptor. It does what it says - at £21 you might argue it's expensive for a bit of cable with a connector, but if you're being paid to present stuff on the screen it's not exactly expensive

Have purchased 3 for my art department staff. There have been no issues with using external monitors or projectors/smartboards. I have used one to connect my MBP to HD TV which also works fine. Tempting fate?

This cable gives me dual screens on my MacBook Pro (2009) via an older LCD HP1702 monitor.

Just plugged everything in and it works great at a good resolution on the HP1702.

Not a lot more to say really :)

I have never had a problem with any of these and have used multiple different ones in multiple different places, hooked up to projectors - yes they work fine with it, Samsung TV's - yes they also work with it - i use on every day. Does exactly what it was designed for and looks sleek at the same time

I just finished getting my brand new Macbook Pro 17" configured and ready to go when I needed to do a presentation at short notice. I went to the local Apple shop bought this device, plugged it in and it worked straight off without any hassle. I re-booted to Bootcamp and ran Windows 7, plugged the device in again and hey-presto it worked perfectly. And my presentation went well!

Mini DisplayPort to VGA Adapter review!

    Hi,

I have recently purchased this product, and I must say, despite all the bad reviews, it worked perfectly for me. I used it with my LG PG4000 (50 inch) TV and it worked perfectly.

Anyway, if you want my opinion, I recommend you buy it, if you are thinking about purchasing this product, well worth the £20 you have to pay for it.

I needed this cable for my Macbook Pro in a hurry to do a slide show. I read the reviews and with the three and a half star average I became a bit worried about whether or not it would work for me. In the end I decided that I had little choice and went to the Apple store in Regents Street, taking a VGA cable with me. After purchasing it I made sure both ends fitted by using my cable and one of the display laptops. The next day I did my slide show. I really can't see what I was worried about. In the end it was just a cable that did its job. Yes it was a bit expensive, but it did the job and now its there anytime I need it.

I have recently got this as I wanted to use my Macbook Pro for work. I have tried it on two different light projectors with no issues. I decided to do some experimenting with cables after reading a lot of negative feedback just to see what might be happening.

It turns out that four of the five cables i used with the two projectors worked fine but one was giving me a Dual Screen effect without the benefits.

My thoughts would be that it's a cable issue rather than the Adapter.

I have also run with a Samsung monitor in dual screen, again no issues.

Worked perfectly out of the box, directly connected to pdp-pioneer TVs series 508 XD VGA and worked easily (even the right LCD TV was detected in display settings with all possible settings, colors, ...) a breeze.

Just thought I'd say in response to other reviewers using Samsung TVs that this adapter works fine. Just make sure you are on mirror settings which is under System Preferences - Display - Arrangement, and you should be fine!

Works perfectly. MacBook to Plasma TV

I wanted this so that I can mirror what's on my MacBook (late 2009 model) onto a Panasonic plasma screen (non HD & 8 years old). The item arrived very quickly through the post and has worked perfectly. I can see mirrored exactly what is on the Mac screen onto the TV screen.

    You can surf the web.
    Watch videos from your MacBook.
Watch BBC iPlayer and other iplayers.
    View photographs from your MacBook.

The sound will come from your MacBook, however you can easily attach a speaker to your MacBook via it's 3.5mm jack output.

You can also have different things displaying at the same time on the two screens (Mac & TV) being controlled from the Mac. Sounds a little confusing at first, becomes clear when you play about with it a little. You may need to adjust the resolution in your Mac's preferences to get the desired size you want on your TV screen.

I found looking at YouTube videos very useful in helping with the setup.
