Apple - thank you

Once again another excellent product from Apple. I bought this keyboard to use with my MacBook as I use an external monitor for my day-to-day work. I must say that it is amazing! At only £29 (I bought mine from an Apple reseller in Liverpool) it represents very good value. The key strokes very pleasing, they are very similar to those of the MacBook, and the design of the thing is very nice too. I have my mouse plugged into one USB port and my iPod Shuffle's dock plugged into the other (the silver Aluminum of the keyboard compliments the iPod's casing very nicely too).
So you get, a USB 2.0 hub, a super keyboard and many admiring looks from PC users all for less than £30!9 of 14 people found this useful

I think that once again Apple have excelled themselves in their design skills. This keyboard looks and feels fantastic. I do have a few niggles though. The return key is smaller than normal although the letter keys aren't so it takes a bit of getting used to. The keys are spaced further apart to so the transition from your old one takes a bit. I also find the caps lock key and the "k" key a little bit temperamental at times. This could just be mine but it is worth knowing. For extended sessions of typing, I will be keeping my older keyboard handy, but never the less, this is truly a work of art and a top notch keyboard!

it would probably be the best in the world! This keyboard is superb in design, function and use. Complements the aluminium clad iMac, looks great on the desk and is just the BEST keyboard I have ever used!
I have had no problems with function keys, or use in any other way. The keystrokes are firm and positive, the keyboard is quiet in operation. The two USB ports are very useful when using pen drives or connecting cameras etc.
All in all a superb product, fully functional with the usual high Mac build quality. Highly recommended.9 of 11 people found this useful

I wanted one of these as soon as they came out but couldn't really justify the expense. My daughter then broke the old keyboard so that sorted that problem out!
The keyboard is superb, maybe not perfect for the touch typists but for me it's excellent and not only does it look great it is great to use, good action and quiet. A 5 out of 5 from me.8 of 9 people found this useful

Great keyboard, add backlight and I'll buy another one!

Everything has been said about this beautiful piece of engineering and design. Functional, easy to type on, great for your wrists, top notch. Just one more thing - that woudl make it EVEN better: Add keyboard backlight. I'm not saying that I need it as much as on the Mac Book Pro, but I know some people would almost switch to a Mac because of that alone. I'm in the market for an updated Mac Pro in Spring 2008 - maybe we can have a keyboard with backlight by then too? Thanks for great products, you guys make work more fun!

Thia new keyboard is 100% better than the old white version. Suits my typing style much better. Just a shame that Apple haven't sorted out the problem with some of the function keys (see the the Apple Support Forum).

One of the best things I like about the MacBookPro keyboards is the backlight.
I wish these also had backlights. :(

Just got it today, Fantastic to use, looks great. Just a shame the post man posted it through the letterbox and let it drop 2ft! All in all I would seriously recommend this keyboard.

The keyboard itself is a huge improvement on the previous white mac keyboard. Unfortunately I don't seem to be able to use my iPod with the usb interface as it does not provide enough power. This is a pity especialy as the advertising specifcaly suggests plugging your iPod in here. I still love it though, it looks well cool.

This is the best keyboard I've ever used. A bit like the MacBook keyboard but more positive in use and the keys feel really solid and responsive. It's supermodel sized (wafer thin and no excess around the sides of the keyboard), quiet and is a full keyboard with a proper numeric keypad and cursor key cluster.
The one I'm typing on is connected to a MacBook Pro and I'm just about to go and order 2 more, one to keep at work to save me carrying this one around and another for my Mac Mini. It's just a shame the wireless version doesn't have all the keys otherwise I'd be ordering one of those too!
As for the comments about missing anti slip pads, the one that arrived here today has 4 rubber feet underneath and I haven't had a problem at all with it slipping around on my laminated desk here. All the keys work as expected as well.
Apple, Well done on a genius keyboard, I'm gonna miss it when I'm travelling with just the MacBook pro.576 of 919 people found this useful

This keyboard is fantastic, its low profile makes it a pleasure to use.
I have a Macbook and I love the keyboard, I bought the new keyboard to go with my 24" iMac (white chassis) and it compliments the imac very well.
On a side note, the USB ports work well but only with mice or low powered devices. Works perfect with self powered devices like external HDD's etc.11 of 17 people found this useful

This is a vast improvement on previous keyboards. The low profile is nice to work with.
As a Pro user - it is rather frustrating that the 'eject' key has moved down into the F key area, as I use F13 in Quark and a lot of other apps on a very regular basis. The Eject key has also reverted back to the non-sticky eject feature so I am now ejecting media constantly.8 of 13 people found this useful

Lovely Design. Nice and thin. Could of done with anti slip pads. Tried plugging my wireless mouse dongle into one of the USB 2.0 ports on the back- but it is too thin and the mouse just lifts the keyboard too high which makes it very slidy.
but, Overall a very nice product from Apple. They just get better and better!4 of 11 people found this useful

Apple you have done it again, beautiful keyboard, a pleasure to use. The only problem is, it would have been nice to have some anti slip device underneath to stop it sliding, but a couple of dabs of blu tac do the trick. Very pleased with the performance and quietness, makes typing much eaisier. Keep up the good work Apple.

I am very impressed. I ordered this keyboard 5 days ago and here I am typing on it now. I plugged it in [to my MacBook] and remembered that there are special keys for exposé and dashboard, iTunes and the system volume, so I clicked on Apple>Software update and 5 minutes later - everything was configured. It sits so low on the desk that my hands feel like I could type all day. Gorgeous.

Just got mine today and I must say I really like the feel of it, in response to CS from ABERDEEN, my Exposé & dashboard keys do not work, when using this keyboard as a second K/B on a MBP, MB or PB, this appears to be beacuse F3 & F4 are already mapped to special function, volume up & down, on the main MB K/B. But I simply mapped F16 - F19 for Exposé and dashbaord when using it on my MBP. the special Exposé and dashboard keys work fine when the K/B is connected to an iMac G5.

Another brilliant marriage of form and function from Apple - I've been using the keyboard for a few days now and I've found the keyboard's ultra-low profile makes it easier to type and less strain on the wrists. My only gripe is there's only one Expose key for three Expose modes.

Top marks for innovation with this. Its about time someone broke the mold on the standard keyboard.
Some reviews below say there are problems with certain keys not working: You have to download an update using software update before all the dashboard, exposé etc.. buttons work as it is a new layout. It all worked fine after that. Great keyboard!!2 of 2 people found this useful

Still making my mind up. Like any keyboard it probably will take a bit of getting used to. Looks very nice though. USB 2 on the port is nice so I can plug my Shuffle and Elgato turbo.264 in without reaching around the back of my iMac. Both work fine from the keyboard - no low power issues. If you are from the UK order the English keyboard not the English International. I'm so used to English meaning American and English International being for everyone else I ordered the wrong one. I know where my £ key is anyway which seems to be the only difference. Wish they'd call it a British keyboard (sorry Northern Ireland).
