The quality of the sound is really bad, worst than the earphone that comes with your ipod. I gave two stars (rather than one only) because they feel very comfortable in your ears.

Superb headphones! Excellent detail and sense of space around the sound. Natural base response and good high end. Only had them one day but very easy on the ears. Best headphones that I have heard yet. Just hope that they have longevity that matches quality.

Apple In-Ear Headphones with Remote and Mic
stunning!!

Just picked these up from the applestore in Brum today.
To clear things up, ALL features EXCEPT VOLUME CONTROL work fine with the original Iphone, pause, skip tracks, answer calls, microphone etc all work great, but you can;t control mic or headphone volume.
Fantastic clarity for receiving and talking during calls, a lot better than most bluetooth sets.
Real comfortable and secure fit, much more comfortable than any other phones I've used, and I've used about 10 different sets of phones over the last two years trying to find something that is comfortable and sounds great... and we have a winner!
The sound is fantastic, given that I usually listen on in-ear single driver phones that cost me £120, I really do love the sound from these. Great soundstaging, and the clarity of the top end mixed with the warm and rolling bottom end is great, the 5hz claim I think is pushing it! THESE ARE NOT BASS HEAVY!
I listen mostly to electronic and DNB, and although the bottom end is not that low and thumping, it is still very rich and warm, and very punchy with no distortion, but the level of clarity and detail you hear is amazing, you really can hear so much more detail in tracks than I was used too. Each element is very well defined, unlike the sharpness of some phones, or the mushiness of bass heavy sets, all elements are crystal clear here. I guess the dual drivers really work, hopefully the bottom end will pick up a bit once they're broken in.
Basically for the money, you simply can't beat these phones. Amazing sound quality, loving the extra hands free use, the controls are as simple as you can get and they are very well made. You'll be paying at LEAST double if not treble for the next cheapest dual driver phones on the market. So you really can't go wrong... just a shame they're still white, silver or black would have looked much nicer, especially considering the lack of any white in the current apple product range!!
Looks like Apple finally made a good set of earphones... shocking ;)611 of 706 people found this useful

Starting to Appreciate
Written by CT from Bearsden
15-Dec-2008
Took a bit of getting used too, my ears had been conditioned to the Sennheiser CX300 in-ears, the Apple by comparison are noticeably flatter but more natural and very detailed. CX300s are bottom heavy, the Apple unit feels smooth up to the vocal presence range where it comes to life and towards the top end remains pretty sharp. I noticed overall good detail and separation, this should happen with two individual drivers handling different frequency ranges.
Earphones will always be subjective, people have different music tastes but Im really starting to appreciate these earphones and getting away from the artificial sound I had become accustomed too. The fact you have playback control and a mic built in and its barely visible is another winner.387 of 476 people found this useful

Compared to the previous Apple in-ear headphones these are much improved.
The sound is much better quality and they don't struggle as you turn the volume up.
They also sit very comfortably in your ear and these actually stay in your ear unlike the old ones which kept falling out, plus the actual quality of the product is amazing.
I'd defiantly recommend these to others...59 of 70 people found this useful

I bought these ear phones today at the apple shop and i must say that they sound fantastic!! I own a pair of in ear moulds and a pair of in ears that cost around 80 pounds these sound better then the 80 pound ear phones (in my opinion) My mounds were 500 pounds so i dont want to add them to the equation but lets just say the apples are really good for the money! Lets hope they last!!!

These headphones are great. Lows are really good provided that you "seal" headphones properly in your ears.
It would have been 5 star but there is one annoying thing, you can here all cable movements, every time it touches your coat you can hear it. I guess it's the case with other in-ear ones, but it is a little bit annoying.
Anyway, definitely recommending those.33 of 42 people found this useful

Finally got mine today. They are absolutely phenomenal!
The best quality sound I've ever heard from headphones (they have better frequency response than nearly all the high-end alternatives).
Also excellent build quality with metal(!!) casings on the earphones themselves.
Packed with an excellent case (+ a stylish case for the size adaptors), all in all they're all I'd ever want from headphones. Oh yeah - the remote/mic words perfectly too.
If you want to get some excellent quality, excellent value (cheapest dual-driver headphones I've found) then look no further!49 of 56 people found this useful

Superb headphones. High Quality, separation, clarity, taut bass, detailed treble. Excellent and well worth the money. Mic works well on iPhone 2G and 3G models.
Innovative case and ear plug holder.
5 Stars because they beat all the earphones at this price level and some above.375 of 463 people found this useful

Pretty Amazing Actually..
Written by JW from Norwich

Sound:-
I am actually surprised that these earphones are as good as they are, you can hear the difference between single and duel drivers. The pitch is near perfect and the bass (good to hear) isn't overwhelming. My previous earphones were made by Philips (in-ear) and before that i used Sennheiser X300 (in-ear). These Apple ones beat them both for clarity by quite a leap. I will say though the sound takes some getting used to, it's a lot more accurate so if the quality of song you are listening to isn't great, you will hear it.
Comfort:-
Very well made, great shape. They just sit nicely in the ear, you hardly feel them in there. Also even though they feel heavy in the hand they are actually light on the ear's, no idea how to explain it but it works.
So...Are they worth the money?
Yes, oh yes. Without a doubt i'm happy i spent a little bit more on my earphones this time round, it's nice to know they DO work with the iPhone as well (mic etc.).2 of 2 people found this useful

I received these as a gift this Christmas - I was AMAZED by the sound quality that these guys produce. It's clear and defined with fantastic bass. On top of this, they are incredibly comfortable. I would still rate this product with five starts even without the remote it comes with - which just made it perfect for me. Works great with my iPhone 3G and iPod 120 GB. Definitely worth buying!

These NEW headphones STINK!
Written by JC from London
28-Dec-2008
After reading all the reviews on the apple.com website I decided that these new headphones were the long over due replacement for the old model. I parted with the £54 at the Apple Store and wrapped them up for Christmas. When my girlfriend opened them on Christmas day we were horrified to find out that these newly developed headphones were nothing short of awful. When I say they have NO bass I really mean it. It's all treble and a tiny bit of mid-range. I tested these on three different iPod's and even a Zune but NO change. Even the EQ settings had little or no effect. I have some Bose in ear head phones that cost me a further £20 and I would recommend them to anyone. These NEW apple in ear headphones quite simply sound BAD, even if they are built rather well. Stay away if you value quality sound especially for £54!

Very disappointing new Apple in-ear 'phones with remote & mic
Written by JB from Tunbridge Wells
29-Dec-2008
I am absolutely flabbergasted at some of the "rave" reviews these new Apple in-ear headphones (priced at about £57 in the UK) are receiving online. I bought them primarily because I recently bought a 120 GB Classic to supplement my existing 20 GB Classic and the "old" Apple in-ear upgrade headphones with clip-on remote control unit that I have owned for the past two years (and think are great) have a two-pin jack that would not fit the new Classic. I think these latest Apple 'phones sound incredibly thin tonally, with almost non-existent bass. They are nothing like as good sonically as the earlier Apple in-ear headphones with remote. I made the mistake, at a UK Apple retail outlet today, of comparing them with both some Sennhesiser noise cancelling phones (priced at about £45 more, admittedly), and some Bose noise cancelling phones, and their deficcicnies are even more apparent. Would very strongly advise a good listen before buying (I bought them unseen from the Apple online store, so had no opportunity to hear before paying out my money; simply trusted Apple's usual quality). One member of the store staff today, who had not heard the new headphones previously, (the Assistant Manager) agreed on listening to my pair that they had "absolutely no bass!"

Awesome Product
Written by RH from Manchester

Just got a set of these for Xmas and had previously been using the V-MODA Vibe Earphones. I use these with my iPhone and as expected the only feature not compatible is the volume up and down. Not a big loss as I didn't have this feature before.
The sound quality is great and they fit really well. The packaging is great and they come with 3 sizes of bud but the medium worked great with me. They really cut out the outside noise well and the audio from the mic is spot on.
Worth the money compared with others I have used.2 of 3 people found this useful

Great, but why can't Apple get it 100% right...?
Written by RM from Falkirk
02-Jan-2009
Excellent sound quality for the price, far better than the ones supplied with the 3G iPhone (for £400 you'd thing they could have done better), and they stay stuck comfortably in your ears, rather than come flying out every time you breath too hard (but just make sure your ears are clean...) Because of the snug fit you don't have to have your tunes quite as loud (good for your ears), and can now make out the subtleties of your music and appreciate the sound-effects of a downloaded action flick. Noticeably improves call quality as well, compared to calls made without headphones on. As always, beautifully packaged, and the S/M/L ear bud caps and replacement mesh caps are a great idea.
However, how much of an effort would it have been to engineer their brand-new-headphones to control everything INCLUDING THE VOLUME of their brand-new(ish) 3G iPhone? Call me a moaner, but..... yes, I did know this was an issue before I bought them, but still doesn't make it right. Once again Apple make a product that could almost be brilliant - like my AppleTV that produces great audio and video but could cook an egg. There. Nuff said.4 of 6 people found this useful
