Apple In-Ear Headphones with Remote and Mic
I'd like to say it's good but...

These are amazing headphones, the sound works great and feel so comfortable in the ears!
But that's when they're working.
The plug is easy to break, the ear tips can easily come off when pulling the headphones out of a tight pocket.
My headphones are now basically useless, without these flaws mentioned, these would be fantastic headphones. Mine only lasted about 1 month.12 of 14 people found this useful

Aye theyre not bad!

These fellas do the job, theyre comfy and theyre white.
I know some of you have been wondering, the volume controls do not operate my iphone 3G but the pause/play/fastforward button does operate. all buttons operate a macbook when used with it, should you feel the need/too lazy to stretch to your keyboard.
Also, many of you have been asking, and i can confirm - these survive the washing machine!!
Iim not too bothered about it sounding great but rely more on the comfort factor. these are comfy, but lack bass as has been mentioned in other reviews.3 of 4 people found this useful

OK, but annoying
Written by IJ from HEMEL HEMPSTEAD

Had these headphones for a few months, before I lost one of the eartips. Put the medium ones on, which didn't really fit me, and lost one of them very soon after. They seem to fall off very very easily. The headphones themselves are quite good so I did go searching for replacement tips. After searching the apple site I found nothing at all. In the end managed to find another pair on eBay luckily. The replacements seem to fit tighter than the originals that came with my headphones so hopefully they won't fall off!!!
Verdict: If your ultra careful with your headphones you shouldn't lose the tips, but if you need a spare pair just search ebay.23 of 29 people found this useful

Apple In-Ear Headphones with Remote and Mic
Not too bad
Written by PW from Peterborough

I first purchased a pair in March 2009. One month later I took them back as the part which I presume is there to protect the earphone from water (the grey rubber part) came loose and would slide down the wire. My local apple store happily replaced them for me, but it's happened again! I don't think I missuse them in any way for this to happen, so perhaps this os a common fault?
Aside from this, the soundproofing is satisfactory, and the clarity of sound is much better than other headphones of this price range. I have tried the Bose in ear headphones and I think they are far better.9 of 17 people found this useful

great if you sit still
Written by TF from ÅRHUS C

being embedded in your ears you will clearly hear the cord scrubbing against your table or shirt. meaning, you can't walk while using theese in-ear headphones. and even sitting down, you have to sit still.
but when you stit still, they sound great.
oh an something not mentioned,, the start stop, volume up/down will work with your macbook.18 of 26 people found this useful

irreplaceable earbuds...
Written by AS from Hook
26-Mar-2009
Bought these early January of this year and am generally very pleased with them - sound quality is great, and the little remote works really well for when you have hands full and can't necessarily take the iPod out of your pocket/bag to change a track etc. BUT, over the past few weeks, the earbuds have started to fall off while in my bag, and just today, when getting my iPod (and attached headphones) out of my bag whilst walking to lectures, one of them fell off, never to be found again.
Small, medium and large sized earbuds are provided, but only the small size fits in my ears, and now I can't find anywhere that will sell replacement sets. Absolutely gutted, as my only option seems to be to buy a new set of headphones altogether, which at 50 odd quid a pop, doesn't quite seem worth it somehow.9 of 13 people found this useful

Ambivalent!
Written by IB from LOUGHBOROUGH

I bought them as a replacement for the standard headphones. Had I been able to try them first I would NOT have bothered. It's great to be able to cycle without any wind-noise as I don't have to crank the volume up - but these 'phones don't have any base to speak of. Excellent in every other respect, but the lack of base is a big disappointment and my iPhone's equaliser won't make any appear.

VERY POOR BUILD
Written by MT from falmouth
07-Mar-2009
I bought these after reading conflicting reviews, the sound is spot on but the build is very poor. The first set i had broke within a week of buying them, so i returned them and swapped them for a new pair. And they lasted no more than ten days until the same thing went wrong, in the right side the driver that deals with the highs just stopped working they never got knocked or had any abuse so i can only put it down to poor build. I have only given them three stars because when they did work the sound is clear and there is just the right amount bass. I have now got my money back and i am looking to purchase some sennheiser or sure, I would not recommend the apple to anyone because of the build.

Good Sound but noisy cable
Written by CP from UXBRIDGE
28-Feb-2009
I bought these for my iphone3G as I was having trouble hearing dialect in movies when I was on the tube or the plane.
I can confirm these are pretty good at keeping outside noise out and I have noticed that I have reduced my usual sound setting down by a couple of clicks, and watched a movie on the tube and could hear everything.
As other reviews state you can use all functions of the mike apart from the volume control.
The only downside is that I have had to keep my original phones for when I am walking as the echo from the cable is really noisy when it catches anything. Its very annoying to keep having to change phones so I will probably just use these when I know I will be sat still for a long time, as switching phones all the time will be annoying.
At least I wont have to hear the captains announcemnts on the plane now!14 of 15 people found this useful

iPhone 3g and these...
Written by RC from Hemel Hempstead
25-Feb-2009
Overall they perform well, nice and loud, crisp and perfect fitting using the mediums for me. For the iPhone, I can confirm the remote pauses, skips forward and back, answers/ends calls and the mic works but does not control the volume.
I have been using the Sennheiser CX 300 in-ear buds which are just as comfortable and loud but deliver much more bass.
I compared the same song (Bloc Party's "Better than heaven") using the CX 300's and then the Apple ones, EQ was set to OFF and they both went as loud as each other, the bass was better on the CX 300's but I would say the top end was better on the Apple ones. After adjusting the EQ settings the Apple ones struggled with the bass at high volume.
If it had full functionality with the iPhone (I didn't expect it too) then 4*, then if it delivered more bass without EQ settings, 5*.
Your opinion will vary depending on the type of music you listen too but ultimately these are a good price for twin drive unit in-ear headphones.71 of 84 people found this useful

Bose in-ear headphones

A good set of headphones however, in my opinion, for much the same price you can gain better sound quality with the Bose in-ear headphones. Certainly worth a look before deciding to buy these headphones

The headphones are a comfortable fit and produce excellent sound. But the volume control is not compatible with my iPod Classic 75mb - very disappointing as I only bought it last April.

not too bad!

Seems the reviews on here are from one extreme to another either 1 star or 5 stars, I bought these because i liked the idea of the sound isolation and im pretty impressed with that-however i dont find the sound quailty as good as people make out and it is very average. to some it up they are ok, maybe £54 is a little pricey as you get this sort of sound quailty from cheaper pairs but the sound isolation is brilliant, 3 stars.

Sound great, pointless functionality.
Written by AP from bradford
18-Feb-2009
These headphones are a vast improvement on the original apple headphones. The ambient sound isolation is great and the clarity and definition of the sound produced rivals sets at twice the price.
My only concern is the lack of support for the iPhone. You get all the functions of the original set, hands free etc, so as an upgrade they're fine. Yet there are volume buttons that seem completely erroneous. Why would the work on the second generation iPod touch and not the iPhone 3g..?4 of 7 people found this useful

Great bit of kit but.....
Written by NP from LEIGH-ON-SEA

I bought these lovelies a month ago, they are fantastic and are very nearly the perfect accompaniment to my lovely 3g iPhone.
Now heres the but, for some strange reason the play/pause/call button works a treat but the volume controls dont appear to want to do anything, it doesnt appear to be anything wrong with just mine as there are others in the same boat.
Summary: great sound, fit perfectly (those who say they keep falling out, why not try the larger bud inserts supplied possibly?) but lack full functionality. Was this useful?

Well, it's difficult to say...
Written by JG from MAIDSTONE
28-Jan-2009
I have read most of the reviews and I tend to agree more with the critical ones than the uncritical ones. Initially I was disappointed as the earphones supplied with the ipod do seem to give a better sound (but then the speakers are much bigger). The in-ear ones were bought as the standard ones were uncomfortable and these are better in that respect although there is a fair amount of vibration noise if you catch the cable or rub it against anything. I listen to as complete a range of music as anyone I've met and the more I listen to the better I find these earphones. They're not a patch on my 10 year old Sennheiser HD 535s (definitely not in-ear!) but that's not a fair comparison.
My judgement is that if you want everything in one product then you're going to be disappointed; they're OK for what they are.11 of 18 people found this useful

Clear sound - but a few flaws
Written by PW from London
23-Jan-2009
I have been using these for three weeks and have just bought some Sony EX500LP headphones... here's why....The Apple headphones have a very clear sound with great detail and having only use fairly cheap headphones before, they did make a difference. However, as others have said the bass sound is only achieved if you get the right fit with the buds, you need to jiggle them into just the right position (and even then the bass is not as deep as I would like)...they then tend to fall out....the sound of the cord rubbing against clothes is annoying...and while I don't care about the volume/mic they don't work with either my Ipod or Iphone.... So if you plan to sit still and have the right size ears...these are fine....if you want headphones to use while you are moving...another product may be a better choice.
