Apple In-Ear Headphones with Remote and Mic
Impressed so far...
Written by TH from SWADLINCOTE

Having read a few reviews, I discovered Apple's compatibility description was rather inaccurate.
The headphones, microphone, play/pause button, next/previous track clicks also work with my iPhone. As Mentioned, the only thing that doesn't work are the volume buttons, which doesn't really bother me as the iPhone has it's nice outer volume control that I can easily press whilst it's still in my pocket.
My initial impression of the headphones was quite a worried "oh my god, these are awful". I then realised I had pushed them slightly too far into my ears, which kills both the trebles and the bass. After realising and putting the headphones in correctly, the sound is brilliant! I keep hearing things in songs that I hadn't really noticed before. I listen to mostly Rock as well as Drum and Bass and some Pop, and it all sounds amazing. I use the Rock EQ on my iPhone.33 of 36 people found this useful

Wow. It's true. There're no bass.

I just bought them and I realised that there is no bass, in comparison to my previous 25euro earphones. If you adjust the equalizer it's getting a little better. Apart from that, the quality of the headset is great, it isolates perfectly from the ambient sounds and the remote/mic work perfect. Getting ready for some voip call from my iPod touch 2ng gen!

Apple In-Ear Headphones with Remote and Mic
AWESOME!!!! A MUST HAVE!!!
Written by MC from Brighton

OK! so better write a long-winded review like all the others!
WARNING: If you like your drum n bass, r n b, blues, soul with catchy drum beats and bass riffs, then you might want to consider on ear headphones such as the Bose QuietComfort 3. The bass on these are amazing quite expensive around £300 but if you listen to them you'll know why!!!
The Apple in-ear headphones i have to say when listening to more acoustic, vocal and soft jazz and classical are without a doubt absolutely fantastic. They have very very good clarity with these kind of genres. You can hear very crisp clear guitar plucking. There is a very subtle distortion with the bass but with in-ear headphones don't expect a good bass. But these are very good price for what you are getting.
For those of you such as myself who have an iPhone: play, pause, skip forward and back work perfectly but the volume up and down don't. You going to have to use the side volume button on the iPhone instead. I suspect Apple will fix this with an 2.? update at some point, (well, here's to hoping)
So hope you enjoy!18 of 20 people found this useful

Don't waste your money...

...on any other earphones! These are simply the best earphones I have ever had! The clarity is simply awesome and the reproduction of recordings is out of this world. Acoustic guitars sound full and toneful. Electric guitars sound like they are in the room with you! The bass is great, not overpowering as in most other earphones. People seem to be complaining about how un-bassy these earphones are, but they're not. I think, provided the earphones are in correctly, that these earphones provide a much more faithful reproduction of what the producers, engineers and musicians recorded and put on disc. Tiny sounds I'd never noticed are coming out and can now be heard. To me the difference is as great as the difference between DVD and Blu-Ray. Hi-Definition music! Phenomenal!

If you only read one review... read this one.

I have reported the 5 star rating posts as 'innapropriate content' because they are simply misleading and innacurate.
I have just bought a pair of these and they are awful, I bought them to replace my Sennheiser CX300 as I needed the remote... A direct comparison between the 2 is frightening... The apple's have 'NO' Bass (I have tried all different ear buds, and different sound settings in EQ). I am a sucker for a new pair of headphones and have bought over 50 in the past. Sony and Seinnheiser so far rule (V-Moda from Apple store lasted 2 months!).
Seriously, don't buy these unless your a fan of quiet classical music. I suspect this summs up the musical taste of the quality control department.
As you'd expect the packaging is incredible!19 of 50 people found this useful

Great Headset... for my iPhone!!!
Written by GT from Islington
11-Jan-2009
Yeah, yeah... not compatible with the iPhone! Not strictly true as I bought these at the weekend and am, indeed, using them on my iPhone.
They work perfectly as earphones and a headset and you can pause a track/end a call by pressing the Mic button in the middle (volume control does not work on iPhone as advised).
Best and most comfortable fitting in-ear headphones ever and a very good and wide range on the sound quality. It's almost like surround sound in your ears with certain tracks.
Listening to movies/TV shows through these really is the best.
iPod or iPhone owners... go for it!5 of 6 people found this useful

Great Product & Price!

After owning a pair of V-Moda Vibe duo Earphones (which broke after 4 months) these are amazing and cheaper!
The sound quality is Superb for a Earphone of this price, they are the comfiest earphones I have had.. fitting perfectly in your ear sealing well to reduce unwanted noise. Seem to be well made but time will tell!
Great Price, better that some £70-£100 headphones easily!
The only slight issue is if your walking around with them, you will get noise from the wires banging around! But great if you using them on trains etc...

Great!

These headphones are great for the money, they come in great packaging and the delivery is superb. The sound quality is the best you will find for the money and really does improve your music experience.
I brought these for my new 8 gig 2 gen iTouch and they are a perfect match; the volume and play/pause feature is something you expect and works great.
The only additions I would like to see to these Headphones is the ability to skip tracks and different colours as the white can fade and look discoloured after a while. Another niggle I have is the lack of a clip to lighten the weight of the buds, even though they are very light, they can come lose when doing physical activity's such as going to the gym and jogging.
The overall feel of the item is of a high quallity, the noise cancilation is ok but could be beter; even with tight fitting ear buds.
I recommened these headphones as they are the best headphones you will find under £100, if your on a budget get these!

Good quality but sensitive to what you plug into!
Written by CY from Eynsham

Massive improvement over the standard iPod headphones as you'd expect for the price...nicely detailed sound compared to the wooden muddiness of the bundled headphones. They do seem to lack low-midbass in my opinion, leading to a relatively less punchy sound but the top end is very crisp. But they seemed to work best with my iPod Classic 80GB, less so with my iPhone 3G and they sounded very anaemic on my iPod 5G 80Gb.
Perhaps that's more down to their transparent sound highlighting deficiencies in the source equipment than anything else!6 of 7 people found this useful

Perfect Sound Quality
Written by NS from NORTHWOOD

I bought these Weds night from the online store and received them Friday morning! Great shipping.
Compared to my Sony EX71 and Sennheiser CX300 they sound a lot clearer. I hear things that i am not sure i did with either the Sonys or the CX300s. They certainly sound more accurate and are very pleasurable to listen too. Although they do lack the low down kick (not just bass but power) that I had come accustom to.
The fit very well too. The cushions for very soft and therefore make a good seal, isolating the background noise.14 of 18 people found this useful

Excellent
Written by DV from London
08-Jan-2009
Summary: Excellent sounding and handy if you do not mind in-ear design.
Sound:
Bass - very clean, dynamic and deep (if fitted properly!). Mids are good. Highs are also quite good, no complaints (but not fantastic). Soun disolation is good.
Fit: the fit is generally good but I think that the silicone fittings could be even softer (although it is already softer than some others I have seen).
Controls: the remote is very handy and works well.
Note: when fitted properly, the sound and sound isolation are very good, but the noise of the cable knocking on the collar and even from your own steps is quite loud. I cannot say if this is equally true for any in-ear headphones or just these ones, but I would expect an extent of the same drawback from any in-ear design. Also, if you are not used to in-ear you can get tired from something fitted snugly in your ears.

Apple does it again
Written by ED from Bury
07-Jan-2009
Bought these a couple of days ago at The Trafford Centre Apple Store. I have owned quite a few pairs of in-ear headphones recently, including products from Sony and Sennheiser, and these definately top them. The sound is incredible for the price, I can't recommend them highly enough.
There is, however, one fault, and that is the fact the volume buttons don't work when using the iPhone. Seems strange to me, but I was aware of this before i bought the headphones, so I wasn't too disappointed!4 of 7 people found this useful

After years of using original ipod headphones which let in far too much noise, I was reluctant to get these without trying them first, but took the plunge. They are light and comfortable, and the sound quality is excellent. A shame the remote doesn't work with my Ipod classic - if only it could be fixed with a software update!
Well worth the money.2 of 3 people found this useful

Clear sounding but very tinny
Written by BD from London

I bought from Regent Street on the strength of the reviews on here. I'm always on the lookout for smaller headphones without losing half the sound, but I'm afraid to say they still don't exist. Buy these as a step-up from the supplied ear buds, the sound is clear and high pitched. Bass, low to mid range - there is none.

So are they any good?
Written by AC from Shepperton
03-Jan-2009
Ok.....after much waiting I have finally got a pair of these Headphones and the question that is on every ones lips is are they any good? I have been testing mine against my Bose Quiet Comfort along with much more expensive headphones.
My conclusion is that for the price there are excellent, the sound is perhaps a little clinical but in a world where bass is amped up and music forgotten these set the record straight. They aren't going blow everyones socks off as taste varies so much in the audio spectrum!
But they are clean, crisp and in my opinion not lacking in any bass.......in fact I think that so many headphones these days are too bass heavy that the nuances and subtles of music have been lost!
This is superb value for money in the right direction of good sound!
My only complaint is that the travel case is a little tricky to open, a small detail but one that I am surprised Apple missed.
Treat your ears you'll probably breathe a sigh of relief.

Great, but why can't Apple get it 100% right...?
Written by RM from Falkirk
02-Jan-2009
Excellent sound quality for the price, far better than the ones supplied with the 3G iPhone (for £400 you'd thing they could have done better), and they stay stuck comfortably in your ears, rather than come flying out every time you breath too hard (but just make sure your ears are clean...) Because of the snug fit you don't have to have your tunes quite as loud (good for your ears), and can now make out the subtleties of your music and appreciate the sound-effects of a downloaded action flick. Noticeably improves call quality as well, compared to calls made without headphones on. As always, beautifully packaged, and the S/M/L ear bud caps and replacement mesh caps are a great idea.
However, how much of an effort would it have been to engineer their brand-new-headphones to control everything INCLUDING THE VOLUME of their brand-new(ish) 3G iPhone? Call me a moaner, but..... yes, I did know this was an issue before I bought them, but still doesn't make it right. Once again Apple make a product that could almost be brilliant - like my AppleTV that produces great audio and video but could cook an egg. There. Nuff said.4 of 6 people found this useful
