    Under 2 years

My Macbook is shutting down randomly. Checked the battery and it is under 460 cycles, condition poor and watching my battery charge in the title bar dropping by the minute. I got this battery less than 2 years ago and already need another. That is my second battery in 4 years. At £100 a pop that is not good.

    Needs sorting out!

    • Written by from Send

I'm a student, and I use my laptop a lot! My battery had the same 'Swelling' problem, and clearly apple still havent fixed that. I'm not sure if its due to the laptop getting very hot or a technical fault, but It's still a lot of money for something that only lasts months! And being a student I dont have the money to keep replacing a battery, when I only have a weekend job. I really need a new battery, but i dont want to waste my money if it does it again! Really needs to get sorted out, considering its been a problem for a few years now for many people.

18 months for this one, which isn't as good as the first one, but better than the last one. So welcome battery number 4 I hope we get to be friends for a while, please don't go bulging like those others.

    2nd Battery - Swollen AGAIN

    • Written by from Maidenhead

Whilst I appreciate my MacBook Pro is getting on a bit at 5 years old, I had Apple replace my battery after 3 years following it's recall campaign on Swollen Batteries. Notice again this morning that my 'newer' battery is once again swollen. On hold to support for 8 min so gave up, but think £99 is a little steep for something so vital.

    Not good one.

I have had two of these and both lost their capacity totally after one year or less of usage. I have tried to treat them well and monitored capacities with coconut battery.
Too expensive for what you get. I have also tried cheap ebay copies but with poor success.

    Another Lemon!

Like so many other reviewers, I am faced with having to replace my battery. In my case, I have had the same battery for 2 years and 9 months - something a record compared to others. PLEASE APPLE FIX THIS PROBLEM. This is a beauty of a machine aside from this issue

    Swollen Battery

    • Written by from IKAST

    Hi

2 Years and 2 months and the battery is swollen up like i have never seen before. This is not okay when it is used as it should and it is a Lithium battery.

The price is simply to high if it only last for 2 years.

    Swollen Battery

    • Written by from Blackpool

Just 3 years, and the computer was shutting itself down auto. The battery life was declining day by day, which was a worry, as new one cost £100. Yesterday, disaster. My MacBook Pro was wobbling on the desk. The battery was swollen. My God. I was in shock.
Apple, you must sort this swelling out. It has really annoyed me, as now I've got to pay out.
Other remarks - the battery is way too hot. I even saw someone on the internet fry an egg on it!!!
Shame, as I love Apple products in general, and though this has annoyed me, I still do support Apple, as it's the best on the market for designers.
