Looks good, but fails to deliver...

    • Written by from Bingley

Well, bought this to avoid having to charge my iPhone 5s so often. The product looks OK, though does add bulk to the 'phone. Not necessarily a problem, but something to bear in mind.

BUT - after attaching it to my 'phone, the internal battery seems to drain much more quickly. I charged both the Mophie and the phone to 100%, but after around 20 hours both were pretty low (after one iPhone recharge with the Mophie). Today I detached the Mophie and the internal battery is lasting a lot longer even with moderate use.

Weird. I could be doing something wrong, and others may have more success. But I'll be returning the Mophie - I just can't see any additional benefit from £90-worth of case :)

After trialling this for a few days I removed because it was far too bulky.
However, after removing the 'juice pack' I discovered the charging socket
on my phone would no longer receive the apple charging plug rendering
    my iPhone totally useless.

Thanks Mophie, looking forward to getting my money back.

NB There is one star on this review only because zero wasn't an option.

Expensive and Ugly but highly reliant on it...

    • Written by from GRAVESEND

I bought this for £90 which was insane. Apple and all smart phones for that matter, should have longer battery life. However, they dont and that is a fact. So I bought this tired of being on the communite home and having my iphone die after my employer decided having staff plugged into the USB's of work computers to charge their phones during the day was a security risk. (DATA theft etc)

Yes you can bring your charger with you to work but sometimes we forget.

I can charge my phone with a normal charger- so despite apples insistence on ensuring their devices are not interoperable, with this you can use a android charger.
    My battery life is doubled.
I never use a apple lightening cable anymore. dont need it. I sync to drop box by wifi, and my music is downloaded by wifi. Once in awhile I will connect to back up to itunes
Its not clunky to carry around.. granted the phone looks better without it but its usefulness outweighs all of that

Its scratched up easily- the paint seems to not be very durable. So my phone looks BAD.

All in all, if you need extra battery life, I would go with this.

Avoid: Most Disappointing Mophie Product (Design & Manufacturing Flaws)

    • Written by from MANCHESTER

Returning product after third replacement, will not be buying another Mophie accessory. Each headphone jack (which is needed if the case is on) has failed within days of normal / careful use. This is a design issue of the case to need an extension, and manufacturing defect that each fails so quickly. More importantly, two of the cases have failed within weeks (both USB plugs), which unlike the dodgy headphone cables: can't be replaced for £6 plus P&P after 12 months.

Most importantly, the USB is for charging only - no compatibility for iTunes sync etc (unlike previous models), which isn't highlighted at all, just the slow awkward 'convenience of wifi sync'. Plus the other marketing copy states "Complete iPhone protection from top to bottom" - which isn't true, as I've literally always had this case on, but have multiple marks to the iPhone's enclosure.

I've found this very disappointing compared to previous iPhone 4s Juice Pack Air, which lasted 14 months before the USB failed. The Technical Support from Mophie is equally frustrating: standard responses without anyone actually reading or writing. They expect you to buy a whole new JuicePack, if the bottom 'cap' has any form of failure (like the weak USB connector) after warranty ends.

    Great Idea but be warned....

    • Written by from Leeds

I loved this for 2 weeks but left my iPhone5 on overnight, charging via the cable that comes with the Mophie, but woke in the morning and the phone was completely dead - Apple think the battery was dead (only 6 maths old), but couldn't confirm. Phone battery was working fine up until I went to bed.

Not absolutely certain it was this cable, but I won't charge it overnight on this cable again!

Other than that, product works well and charges well. Apple even sell it with charge, so if you are running low, buy one and get charging straight away.

Incomplete functionality - need 2 cables - (USB) and (iPhone lightning-USB)

    • Written by from Bath

The Juice pack for the 4s was great, no issues within the life of the phone. However, bought one for the iPhone 5s and life gets complex, difficult and disappointing. Syncing needs to be by WiFi with power on which is inconvenient in places like aircraft. Cannot download photos without dismantling the pack to use the lightning to USB option, can not sync photos on WiFi, downloading photos does not function with the supplied USB cable. This may a software issue but needs to be fixed. So, you need to have 2 cables to down load photos - not an ideal travel option. Still good as a power source to prolong the active life of the phone, simply poor functional behaviour.

I have got one and its pretty good dous what it says on the tin
and it makes the phone look the size it should be,a little bigger and I don't notice the extra weight the cover case part is also very good...So yes I would say worth the money and saves using a car charger, yes it's ok

It works brilliantly but shouldn't have to resort to buying a juice pack

    • Written by from London

Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but I was disappointed that my first ever iphone, being a 5, had such a terrible battery life - half a day. Thankfully the Mophie Juicepack Air does work and my phone now lasts 12 hours. Shame the phone itself didn't have a decent battery life without this expensive add on.

    Doesnt work at all

    • Written by from LONDON

It does not charge my phone, which was the reason i bought it so this makes it completely useless. a quick search on google shows apple formus filled with equally frustrated users. I cannot believe they are allowed to sell this product completely unfit for purpose.

I've been using the Juicepack product line for years now, been very happy with the version supporting 4 & 4s.
When I got my 5s I immediately ordered a iPhone5 version. Was happy until connecting the set to my computer..
It started to charge, but no iTunes.. Switched over to my Macbook Air - same result. Wrote an email to Mophie Support complaining about the missing sync.
The answered back that this was not an error, but part of the disign! Apparently you're supposed to sync via WiFi..
As everybody knows, this will not work when using VPN etc. I'm a professional using the phone for work, so I sincerely hope the design FLAW is fixed shortly.
I of course returned the product.
